  • I don't get what the point of these video's are considering the run-time is less than 3 minutes, on average.

  • I WANT MORE!!!

  • @BabyIYours thats true but if you watch the entire episode on science channel he makes a welding shield from a sunroof and an old bucket,

  • 1:54 omfg look how close his finger is to touching the metal of those clips----he was literally about 3millemeters away from a very dangerous amount of electricity flowing through him.

  • I'M DOIN' IT.

...Except for that whole exploding thing....... @zerqTM I'm a little nervous about that.

  • isent there a risk that the batteries might ract violently to that?..

typicaly with a electric welder you can only work so long before it over heats... but with those batteries isent there a risk they might react violently maybe even exploding?

  • @ZerqTM It certainly could, but since it is only 36 volts, the likely of it happening are one in a million, unless the batteries were defective, and or damaged.

  • @tsubasa198 Volts mean nothing when it comes to this.

  • @killerpacdot Eh, then I guess I forgot some of the stuff I learned from shop class. My bad.

  • @callmeshane303 to your comment you removed yes i read a lot of books every day in fact.

usualy both fiction and something technical as well and a lot of technical documentation.

Electrical engeneering is not my main area of focus though i am a programmer but i do take an intrest in it and it metal working techniques.

basical i am rubber you are glue troll!

and that wasent so much an opinion as a causionary querry. but i do have a lot of opinions to as it happens.

    :p

  • @ZerqTM Notice how he doesn't really weld with it? This rig would be a half ass welder at best. You are correct in assuming you shouldn't directly short a standard car battery.

  • @ZerqTM yes, as i have used this concept a few times, while on tour (racing). there are a few guild lines that should be followed. most people that are familiar with this idea, know those guild lines....

  • @ZerqTM yes, but the idea isn't to build a car with this rig, it's possible to use it in a quick and easy temporary repair. like you would do in a offroad trip, all you need is three guys to stop to let you use their batteries for 10 minutes while you make a repair good enough to get you home and to get a proper repair. using this for more than a hour would be risky. supposedly this can work with two batteries if you use a smaller welding rod(1/16" rod instead of 1/8")

  • Looks dangerous

  • mmmmmmmm........ I don't think you can adjust your amperage. Also it's kinda easy to shock yourself welding (just touch what you ground and your flux.). In an Emergency situation this seems legit, but a practical one idk...

  • **********

  • Excellent to pass on this kind of information.

  • I read "Building a Wedding Ring" XD

  • @MetalHeart678 me too!

  • @MetalHeart678 Mee Too
