My chef told me that when you cut onions you should put a piece oof bread in your mouth, but then the bread has to stick out. So that it can absorve it. Maybe it does help!

advice.....put the onion in the hot wather for a little while before cutting because that will ease the burninng. that's how i do it.

Ugh, I hate cutting onions too. They make my eyes hurt & water badly too. I can usually make it through cutting half of an onion then I ask someone who's around to finish it for me, lol.

The part right after '5 minutes later' made me crack up. I guess some people are just more sensitive, because I hardly ever cry cutting onions unless I do more than a couple. If your eyes start to burn, stick your head in the freezer.I know it sounds ridiculous but the cool air makes your eyes feel better. It works, it's the method I use all the time!

Next time, put the onion in the refiderator for a while, then cut it. If the onion is chilled, it won't irritate your eyes.

Or, you could chew gum.
