Tell you parents that, eventhough for them might be noise, you produce music with a drum kit, and you can be relatively silent using an electronic one (you only hear the thuds on the pads, and you can use headphones). So the real deal, very creative, educational and silent.

Don't they know music is art? Tell them you want to play music instead of videogames. That's a big deal.

@DJhinge Nope, look at the left of the tv, you can see the rock meter which is stacked vertically for the whole band. Also, the bass hit is orange as seen on the drum chart. In GH, the drum hit is represented with a purple line, not an orange one.

okay so i play real drums and rb drums and the ions are basically a low grade electronic kit but they are nice for rockband because they're spacious and fully customizable so they can sit where you like but as for a comparison to a real electronic kit the ions are like a low LOW grade electric drum kit they are like wal mart status actually i think i've seen them at target and costco for about 250 not the rb set but the electric kit... not that great.

Actually, this is a electronic drum kit. You just buy the $350 or so drum brain and use it for freestyling.

All in all, that's $650, which is about as much as most electronic drum kits cost.

No they don't..Think about it..These are actual drum pads, no weak rubber shit like the RB1 and 2 kit..Their introductory level electric drums. Go out to a Guitar Center and look how expensive just the pads are and then the drum modules. This is a very good deal, if you think about it. It wasn't built to be compatible with Rock Band...It was modified to be compatible..Because if you look, the Ion kit itself sells for 400..and that comes with the module. :x Just get a GHWT kit and be satisfied XD

$350 for the set without cymbals(D2 by ddrum had to replace the snare $350(Original Snare Fell apart in a week got a Yamaha Tour Custom) $150 for double kick pedals (Low End Mapex) and another $250-300 for a Low end Cymbal set (Sabian B8) also 2 cymbal stands ($150 each) and a High Hat Stand ($250)

Total for some "Cheap Real Drums" = about $1750 in the end.

IONS dont come in ANY game... YOU buy it seperately. NO MATTER WHAT!, its 300$ and comes on Xbox(in stores), PS3(online, soon to be in stores) and Wii(but not out yet). It comes with 2 out of 3 cymbals and im sure the last one will be found in retailers near you soon! ITS electric YES! however you have to by and use a drum brain as opposed to the RB brain that comes with it to adapt to the system. plug a nice speaker system to the drum brain you bought and PRESTO! electric set.
