@THReynolds2 A brake stand uses the brakes to hold the car while the tires start to roast. It's a poorman's "line lock". But you probally haven't heard of that ether. A few years later I raced a 1969 Mercury Cyclone with a 428CJ Ram Air/C6 at Beech Bend and at the end of the season represented Beech Bend in the Bracket Finals at Indianapolis, Indiana. Yeah, I've done burnouts at Indy, THE Indy, not some back road. I was also track announcer at Beech Bend, including the NHRA SportsNationals.

Is called the stink bug stance you dumb shots. look at dragster photos from the period. they did this to the car in hopes it would move the center of gravity directly over the rear wheels while under power. it worked but it worked too well there wasnt enough weight on the front wheels to steer the car down the track so they went back to the drawing board....the gasser was born and the rest is history

Guys, that's called a burnout!! I hope by now the owner has realized it looks REALLY REALLY bad and returned it to a muscle car stance and put on some great looking custom rims that give the car it's much deserved respect!! It's a Torino guys, not a monster truck.
