To all high school, Junior & community college 4 year colleges,university & HBCU band directors of the USA. (Even though you already have commitments for upcoming pre planned halftime & field show for the upcoming 2009 football season) In honor & memory of Michael Jackson have your bands do a field show or halftime show in honor of the music & legacy of Michael Jackson for the 2009 football season. I love the guy's music, too, but that'd be a little ridiculous for that many bands to play an MJ half-time show. I can see it becoming such a "trendy" thing to do for this year that it just seems like people are copying each other... Though if there's a lot of demand, I wonder how easily I could sell this arrangement to a publisher.

You never know & if it does happen I like to see the vid's here on YouTube to show the different arrangements & marching styles & routines that each band has to offer or maybe even one paticular Michael Jackson song from his early years from the Jackson Five or later in his solo career would be fine.

Our high school band (we don't have an official marching band) is playing Thriller at half time of our homecoming game this year. I think we were going to be playing it anyway since it was close to Halloween. The only thing that sucks is that in the arrangement, trumpet has the melody and...I'm the only trumpet.

Also, great job on the arrangement. It would be cool to see if you could sell this to a publisher. I mean, it does a great job covering MJ's career, unlike some shows I've heard.

Trust me, it's not really a great thing, especially if you begin to get tired. It sucks knowing that if I fall off, then there's nobody else playing the part.

That, and the fact that I'm not officially in band class this year (not taking it b/c of schedule) makes it a bit difficult as well.

West MIfflin High School Marching Band had a Michael Jackson show planned way before hand. But now that he died, it has become a tribute. So for future reference-WM did NOT copy anyone, we planned this show a while ago and ours is quite original.

our marching band actually picked the show a few days before he died... its a honor to play his music. i havent heard what the show will sound like or looked at the drill, but i do hope that we sounds good while we perform. ! R.I.P MJ!

Good to hear that blinkrox2008! So far this season as I know of Two college bands did tribute shows to Michael Jackson, One was two weeks ago with the Spirit of Troy the University of Southern California Trojan Marching Band doing a MJ tribute to the finale of thier Grammy half time show & last saturday the Jackson State University band did a tribute to MJ featuring a MJ impersonator! Hope more High School College & University bands do tribute shows to the leagacy of Michael Jackson!

Not gonna happen. Not only would no band in the nation play the same show two years in a row under any circumstance (outside of pregame and any other traditional show they might do), but the shows for the upcoming season have all already been decided. I guess we just did this show a year too early...
