I used solidworks 2010 to produce the stl file and the toolpath worked fine, so i guess the 2010 version creates problems in deskproto... thanks for the answer anyway...and by the way deskproto is very good gave me a big help:

hi, when i load my .stl file to deskproto it doesnt appear in the program bgut it generates a strange toolpath.
Is it because i used solidworks 2010 to produce the .stl file?

STL files from SolidWorks should be OK, so there must be a different reason for this behavior. I'd need more information to tell you more.
