@BrokenAeroVT It saddens me to see were this country is going. Im only 21 and I wish I was 21 in 1960. I think i'd be old enough in 1960 to skip the Nam draft.
@LaCosaNostra132 You would have been 26-35 for the duration. My comment had to do with why it was so "great" back then. Japan and Germany had no industry after the bombings and our industrial base was intact--not so much as a scratch, so the US practically had a free for all as far as competition was concerned--hence prosperity. Now we are spoiled with unions protecting sloppy work while the rest of the world catches up and drains our marketshare. No wonder why we suck now.
I remember all of those, We drove most of them as teenagers - usually 8 years later, when they were pretty well ragged out. Although a friend of mine got a 60 Galaxie with just 2,800 miles on it for $350 in 1969. Things were different back then.
Nice ol Fords. I liked the '60 Thunderbird! The galaxy was cool as well!

American life was so wonderful back in the day, when the rest of the competing industrialized world laid in ruin, bombed back into the dark ages...

In the immortal words of Jim Morrison: "You're all a bunch of f***ing slaves!"
Awesome to know that even back then there were people that didn't believe the bullshit of advertising

@mateo1224 Yay for Jim Morrison, who chickened out and died of a drug overdose at age 27! Yeah, let's all be more like him........................
