  • What was that guy gargling after getting stabbed?

  • @jstnhnh Died :O what do u think

  • @Basketball7552 I think he had bad breath, so the guy injected him with mouthwash.

  • the guy aint stabbed he is injected with something

  • @WastemanofOU Cyanide. He was fucked

  • This movie makes you want to be a cop.

  • @curtmastor or it makes your realize some of them dont get paid nearly enough.

  • i jus dnt getit...y is liotta still underrated nd not gettin recognitn?...its tym he gets honourd wid an award, a big one.

  • that guy was SCUM...good riddance

  • Patric is AMAZING

  • Yeah no shit.....Awesome opening scene. The movie had a few holes in it and a poor plot twist, but other than that this movie is really underrated.

  • Loved, Loved, Loved this movie!

  • O you no what i aint watched all of it

    After these kung fu films

    devil drunken demolishing fist

  • @ALIENSHADZ

I don't believe you are joking or trolling. You're a waste of humanity.

  • That wernt me was my fuckedu p cusion :/

  • never, ever get tired of this movie.

i appreciate it on so many levels; how they worked with the budget that was given to them,;how due to the low-pay the two (amazing) leads were willing to take, they give these performances that aren't driven by they paycheck, but from a need to tell this story with all the talent they can muster; the look of the movie, the score, the pacing... it's all so good.

wish more people would watch it.

  • what is that shit hes putting in the needles.

  • they filmed this near where my friends live near downtown toronto

  • @CovertOPSDragunov i think they filmed this in detroit :P

  • @Basketball7552 they filmed some scenes in Detroit in this scene it was filmed in the Regent Park Area of Toronto

  • I've seen over 700 movies, and not only is Narc in my top 30, but this opening sequence is easily in the top ten best openings I've ever seen. It's absolutely horrific, and extremely well done. I knew a guy that was an undercover narcotics officer, and this matches the kind of things he described. Unreal.

  • @Fluffy65 He's not a very good undercover narcotics officer if you knew he was one. Plus he wouldn't be telling people something like that.

  • I was watching the Kane & Lynch 2 trailer, it reminded me of this scene, I see similarities between them. Let me know what you think.

  • how the hell did Carnahan go from this to Smokin Aces and A-Team? I mean, I'm sure he got paid more for those but seriously.

  • This scene is haunting.

  • what's brilliant about this scene is how much detail we learn about the character and the world that he lives in through the whole opening two minutes.

The small details of the environment: filthy yards, the car alarm, the blue-tint (making everything seem so cold), the voices and wind-tunnel effect as he runs between buildings.

    beautifully done

  • How can this be on youtube but no boobies? Strange society. Awesome movie though.

  • @CletusVanDamnme whats wrong with what was shown?

  • weres the back up?

  • @1111JackRabbit LOL serious?

  • reminds me of kane & lynch

  • great movie

  • Garbage. I can't really understand how anyone can call this a cop movie. Unless you don't see anything wrong about two collateral murders.

  • amazing!

  • that needle probly was infected, the gunshot was good, did he gt shot in the face or arm

  • kane and lynch dog days woooh

  • damn i need to watch this again

  • One of the best opening sequences I've ever seen! To this day I can still hear the gargling of the guy stabbed and the scream Patric lets out at the end. Unforgettable! Both Patric and Liotta's performances are so believable and well acted. I can't recommend this film enough if you are looking for a real good drama.

  • Holy shit.

That was hands down, one of the most INTENSE Opening Scenes to a movie , EVER.

Inernal Affairs would have a FIELD day with this case, jesus.

Deep cover, blown somehow.....and this shit happens?

Was the cop chasing him high on drugs?, considering in some undercover situations you have to USE the actual drugs....to be believable.

  • this movie was extremely unrealistic

(but the opening scene was exciting).

  • @LoversFashion Unrealistic in what way?

  • @LoversFashion Unrealistic? Are You Joking? The movie and scene is totally realistic, and yes a bullet can ricochet and bounce and strike someone if that is what you're referring to, I've seen it happen.

  • THIS MOVIE WAS DEEP

  • The great thing about this movie not being so well known is that when you show it to people who have never heard of it, the movie blows them away.

  • HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLP!

  • yeah i hate how this movie dont get the credit it deserves

  • best cop movie ever made!

  • 1:01.. terrible editing. Regardless, great opening scene. Intense.

  • @KleWdSide terrible editing you dumb fuck?? how can you jump a fuckin wall holding a fuckin camera????? its imposible thats why it looks that way... i think its amazing...

  • @ulisesfuerte Look, that was pretty bad. I think they could have done a better job w/ the wall climb.

  • @KleWdSide Im sure Joe Carnahan thinks the same thing and would love to redo that one little moment but he didnt have the money to do that. In fact, there was so little money into making this movie that Ray Liotta and Jason Patric did the film for free as they love the script and didnt want to see the film being shutdown.

Anyway, I don't care about the wall climbing, it doesn't distract me from the rest of the scene. Joe and his editor mention about the wall climb on the dvd commentary.

  • what happens to the other guy that was taken hostage?

  • @cypher47 that was michael calvees injected with those needles

  • @cypher47 prob od, 2 needles full of i'm guessing heroin...thats crazy shit man i've never seen that in a movie...ballsy...in the top 5 of my fav movies for sure

  • how the fuck did he hit the pregnant woman?

  • @pyro80

Well, he was running, and firing a .40 caliber pistol.

So, his shots were rather scattered.

  • Joe Carnahan owns all.

  • thats sum hard core shit right there

  • That's some good shootin. Running, shooting and still waxing the assailant and not the kid! Go Detroit Police!

  • @rafaelxperez

no. he shot the pregnant woman in the leg.

  • Check out the Kane & Lynch 2 promo... I swear they totally used this whole scene as its influence..

  • Hell yeah. Great fucking movie.

  • Talk about a scene that pulls you right in ! very well done. The whole movie is great, a real unrated gem.

  • Doesnt get much darker than this

  • Jason Patric is just an amazing Actor! He did a great job in the alamo as playing Jim Bowie!!

  • stupid women shouldn't have run into the gunfire

  • @FromTheSky596

    It was a ricochet!

  • i cant quite put my finger on why, but the HD version just doesnt have the same effect. it looks too blatent

  • one of the best cop movies ever,

needs more credit.. especially liotta's performance

  • fukcin agree

  • @jaystarr1993

    You guys are dead on!

  • hardcore

  • awesome movie!

  • this movie was awesome! doesnt get enough credit

  • one of the best and most underrated ever

  • I'm with. Everyone I've spoken to didn't like this movie. They're all wrooong. So wrooong.
