  • Hey man nice vid, what you think will develop better striking, a hanging bag or a freestanding bag?

  • @brianvelasquez hanging

  • Good bro

  • that was pretty damn good. could you possibly make a tutorial video?

  • Always good to watch how even kids kick bags in Thailand to see how relaxed they are in executing the kicks. See /watch?v=Ra1pOw0_D0M&feature=related

  • Great video man! Very impressive. I had a question for ya. What's your height and weight? You look pretty tall. I'm 6'6 230 plan on cutting to 215. How can I improve my kick flexibility? I have some serious leg power. Legs like tree trunks. How can I do high kicks like you?

  • @TheNobleBard

    I'n 6ft 2in and about 180pds.

6ft 6in you probably can be a whole lot less flexible than most and still get that shin up there. As for improving flexibility, there are dozens of ways. Truth is, the most effective way to improve kicking flexibility is to constantly throwing kicks and working on getting them higher and higher. Continuous practice is your best bet. Stretching out your hips really good before, during and after your workout will also help. thanks brotha, good luck!

  • random question do u hav recomendations for how long a person should stretch before workout?

  • @kaindrg

For myself, I typically do a light warm up first with jump rope and shadowboxing. Usually 1 rd of each 2-3mins. Then I stretch after I have a light sweat. I find it better to stretch out once I have at least broke a light sweat and am a little warmed up. I usually stretch for 5-7 minutes (static stretching), then another 2-3 minutes of dynamic stretching (in motion). This is what works well for me..... hope that helps.

  • if u had more flexibility ur kicks would be even deadlier

  • well ive been in BJJ and MMA training for three years and you have a very good technique and just keep up the good work and maybe you can win 3 championships like me

  • good stuff. i just learned how to do the switch kick :)

do you have a list of all those songs you were playing in the background while practicing?

  • Great Video Bro! I'm So jealous of your 100 pound bag, I bet your kicks can break ribs... My kicks can! I'm in Taekwondo and I just started training with a heavy bag, my heavy bag has been outside in the rain and bad weather, for 2 years, so it's like kicking a fuckin Rock. But I just ignore the pain! Keep at it! You'll be Champ One Day!

  • Wow this is pretty impressive do you have muay thai training or did you teach yourself ?

  • Your kicks are solid, but I think you need to work on your hands. Just an opinion.. nonetheless, solid vid

  • won't you be tired after the 1st round?

  • Keep your hands up when you kick, other then that nice vid.

  • Nice kicks , not to argue with anyone on youtube about this but why is this generation seem so big on kicking, its been around for ever but seems that since UFC people down the non kickers. From expericence ive grabed a lot of my friends really good solid kicks and eather took them down or blocked them.Ive even grabed there leg and if anything could hit them in the sack.Im not a big fan of kicking even it can fuck you up im more of a wrestler and boxer and belive in that styel for me(short limbs)

  • @shampoo02 well depends what your good at, but maybe your friends arnt good kickers (no offence just dont know them) but if you kick at the right times they fuck people up, its just when you get them wrong theres a problem. I dont normally kick right of the bat, but normally set myself up with a combo. and if your mates cant kick your head height, its easier to catch a rib kick, although to catch it you have to let it hit your ribs or bicep so probably best to block. are your mates good?

  • @buffmann91 Well my friends are pretty good , not to brag but we have all been in a lot of fights threw the years and at the age of 28 ive calmed down. Not to brag but neather of us have really ever lost a fight or been ko , most people try to jump us or use a weapons thats why i try and avoid fights.Your right kicking is really good if you do it right but im so sick of people now comparing boxers and saying they arent all around fighters.im 5'7 with short legs so kicking i dont think is for me

  • @shampoo02 yeah i personaly think boxing should be first and formost in any fighter, then add whatever else. ive just never seen any other martial art beat boxing in stand up. ground fightings a different game though, although doesnt come into street fighting so much does it

  • @buffmann91 ya boxing is good for most street fights if the other person doesnt know anything , but if it goes to the ground like you said the boxer will be like a duck out of water. Id love to learn some simple ground game my self , maybe soon. to tell you the truth I dont like fighting because it can kill or cause more problems but I cant stand when people go out of there way to be rude or fuck with you, thank god it dosent happen to me but once in a blue moon.Still its good to know something

  • whats this song?

  • U r gd bro! btw, when we kick the punching bag, is our foot or shin hits it?? also, are all punching bags good for sharpening your elbows, knees, kicks and knuckles? THANKS!

  • i would like to fight you

  • awesome stuff man can u check out my vids tell me what u think

  • What weight bag is that?

  • @Eso1

    100pds

  • your lucky to be able to have a gym in your home

  • you are really good

  • @Krecik704

    Thank you, i appreciate it.

  • @gsms80 Bad habbit to drop your hand when you kick....still good

  • dobre video ,good vid man keep up the good work..

  • great video man, thanx! one question..i just started training muay thai, and they told me i should not bounce on my feet, but rather plant my feet on the grownd and step/slide, but not bounce. i saw you bouncing on youe feet with great technique, i would like you to help me on this. i have been boxing for a while and i automaticaly bounce, personaly i think is a good ofence defence strategy if you have quik feet, i can tell when practice sparring i dond get hit as much etc. any help apreciated

  • @bagre1976

I also started as a boxer so i do tend to bounce in-out a little more than a traditional Muay Thai kickboxer would. It has always worked well for me to use my quick feet and range, i am taller lanky fighter. I do however have a bad tendency of getting up too high on my feet while in the pocket, that has caused some problems. I think being light on your feet is good if your at range or closing the gap, just set down and get your base a little heavier when your in the pocket.

  • @gsms80 thnx for the response man, i'll sure make some adjustments on my footwork but wont change it completely, as you said, get a strong base but lighter on my feet. great advise!

  • I wouldn't wanna mess with you bro *thumbs up*

  • your boxing is ok but your kicks are awesome

  • Check out this you tube link to correct that flaw .." Bas Rutten's secret to power kicking " ..

  • very good .. but one major flaw I see is that when you kick your up on your toes on your planted foot .. which means your off balance and can be pushed over and also which means your not delivering all the power you could if your foot was planted flat on the ground .. keep it up bro ..

  • HEy buddy I notice like you some people use tape on their bags. Are they targets or for indestructable purposes?

  • @Guitarisma

I actually use it to seperate the bag into sections, I.E lower section is thigh high, leg kick area, mid section is gut, torso, floating ribs, top section is head height....... Just helps give me a general area to build combos head body and legs........ hope that helps

  • sup every time you kick try to hold your guard up

  • hey bro,

what do you use to yo hold you bag up,

my new house dont have beams and i see you dont too ( i dont think you do)

    mean vid by the way,

love you switches aswell and the combo at 33 secs,

    F**kn fast,

    haha

  • @smashfistpunkteeth

Thanks brotha, I actually do have cedar beams in the garage, i just cut out a section of drywall and used a cross beam brace (from title boxing) to hand it from. Go check Title boxing's website, they have all sorts of stuff for hanging bags from different types of structures...... worse case scenario, get a floor stand. Hope that helps, good luck!

  • you jump around too much, turn your hip and pivot your foot.

  • @shibidi

I am an outfighter and a counter fighter, so i do move around alot. I have plenty of things that i need to improve...... but turning over my hip and pivoting (kicks i assume) into my kicks is probably what i actually do best, where are you seeing my hip not getting over.....?

  • I like this shit, great

  • Do you ever spar? I just started about 2 months a go, still getting my ass kicked by the fighters haha.

  • @AjfromDamons

I fought competitively for several years, but that was years ago. I still spar regularly with the guys i train, and periodically i work as a sparring partner for other fighters preparing for a bout. Sparing is an absolute necessity if you want what your technique to be effective on anything but a bag or pads! And dont feel bad, getting your ass kicked is the best way to learn and anyone who fights has been in your shoes, many times! Hell, i still get my ass kicked once in a while

  • you trained muay thai or just freestylin?

  • I trained and still do train Muay Thai, along with some western boxing. I have a tkd background (as a kid) though and trained Muay Thai in Holland vs. Thailand. Why it doesn't always look like traditional MT.

  • nah you know why i asked if it's freestyle..first time i went to thailand it was cool and everything but when i messed up combining punches and kicks like for example if you punch with left and right you gotta kick with left leg then and i kicked with right and got blasted by one of the coaches that was behind me who carried that lil stick with him lol, i'll never forget it and yet when i remember all that its kinda funny..i've noticed you doing that so i remembered the old days :D

  • Nice where did you learn these things?

    Can you show me?

    TY

  • Sick kicks bro

  • Hey check out my heavy bag vid.... Its got alot of similar style to yours.... Keep up the hard work !!!

  • Sick Head Kicks !!!!! !!!!!

  • thanks brotha!

  • Basically for High kicks u need really good flexibility ? What do you think are the best stretches to get there ? The splits ?

Thx and ur very good man...Ur kicks look like CroCop's...(Almost ^^)

  • Mean High Kicks man!

  • I appreciate it! It is probably my favorite technique........ Thanks again!

  • @gsms80

Mean high kicks bro, looks like it's time to upgrade to a heavier bag!

  • Thank you! That bag is a 100pd bag, but no spring or swivel hang, bounces around a lot. Either way, i like it more for boxing than kicking, put up a 150pd thai bag for kicking and it works much better.

  • im a muay thai noob and i wish i could be as good as you =)

  • Thanks brotha. Everyone starts somewhere, it just takes time and dedication. I could barely kick above my waist when i started. Even after years and years of training you still find there is much more to learn, it never ending. Good luck man, and stick with it. You will improve consistently if your dedicated.

  • dont laugh at me for being a noob thought but when i punch my bag is there a why i can prevent my wrist from hurting and what strecthes do u do every day to get your kicks in high sections cuz my kicks really blows.

  • Get good handwraps, learn to wrap your hands correctly. I am sure there is a tutorial on ytube. Also, make sure you are using gloves that fit properly. Lastly and most important, make sure your using correct form when hitting the bag. Dont push your punches into the bag, work on making them pop into the bag, vs thud.... help those wrists.

On the kick flexibility, best way to get higher kicks is, warm up good. Then, constantly practice kicking higher, your body will adjust.

  • thnx dude

  • real smooth nice kicks and jabs. keep it up!

  • @mrxlazie

    Thanks brotha, appreciate it.

  • u r really good, try lifting up ur shoulder up every time u jab. but u got mad skills

  • damn ur really good..

very sharp punches and kick combos..

hope you cld share some techniques on how to improve my stand up game..

  • Thanks Brotha, i appreciate it. I am working on putting together some instructional videos as well as, some of my personal favorite "tricks" for effective stand up. If you post a video i would be glad to give any advice i could offer.

  • @gsms80: actually i have one vid during training and its no good,, :) hehehe.. you cld check it out if you want.. its shadow box capiz, dennar..

    thnx alot bro..

  • how long have u been doing muay thai and how old r u cause im going to join sanshou kickboxing which is like muay thai witk throws..

  • i have been boxing and kickboxing since i was a kid. i am in my 30's now. As long as you take care of your body and dedicate yourself to training, age is not such a big deal....... depending on what your goals are.

  • kk thx man.. btw im doing sanshou kickboxing and two u got some fast hands and look like they hurt like hell XD

  • nice bro if u train more ur gonna get the cro cop kicks :)

  • lol.... thanks man, but it is gonna take a lot more than some training to kick like cro cop, and an additional 25+ pds of muscle on my legs...... you see that guys thighs, size of my waist!

  • nice vid, what did you have on your floor with all the blue lines?

  • thanks brotha. The floor is just the snap together vinyl padding you can buy at any sporting goods store. The blue lines are the duct tape holding the flooring together at the seams. They snap together like puzzle pieces and if you dont tape them they wont hold

  • Great work on the bay! Excellent technique and speed!

    Osu!
