For instance she clearly stated multiple times how female genital mutilation predates Islam, but is often adopted by it. And again, criticized the Dutch welfare state. None of this is news, I read her book Infidel, and she talked about this, already. Maybe they found a few more details in this documentary, but I don't see a discrepancy. She said several times in her book how she lied and why. And how she nearly lost her citizenship because of it, but then they ruled her different last name was not illegal according to Somali lineage. Her grandfather had used both Magaan and Ali.

It further more is written in a language that requires a lot of study to 'pick' the 'right' word. All this leads to various interpretations of the same book, and they all claim they are 'true to the Quran'. So, no there is not a 'true' Islam in practical terms, theoretically maybe. Why are you making things up? A women can divorce in Islam if she can prove reasonible grounds, such as abuse. Islam was one of the first religions to allow divorce.

I think you missed my point. I was saying that in her autobiography she was not only criticizing Islam, but other cultural oddities as well. For instance she clearly stated multiple times how female genital mutilation predates Islam, but is often adopted by it. And again, criticized the Dutch welfare state. I'm not saying all bad things come from Islam or that Islam produces only bad things. That is stupid. But like all cultures and religions somethings are counterproductive.

I'm not quite sure what you are saying, to be honest. But if you are saying that people in the 'West' are racists towards Muslims, well that is true for many. But disagreeing with parts of Islam or parts of religion is valid, where it becomes invalid is if it clouds your mind with blind hate. The Hadith tell us more than once she was 9 when the marriage was consumated. Specifically, the Hadith of Bukhari, volume 5, #234 and vol. 7, #65; the Hadith of the Sunan of Abu Dawud, volume 2, #2116 and "The History of Tabari", volume 9, page 131 (not quite sure if that counts as Hadith).
