I could do that... except, for some reason, whenever I enter Space Stage my game would randomly make a blue screen pop up. I don't know why it happens, and it prevents me from playing the Space Stage properly.
This has happened to me its so annoying!!! I downloaded a mod to get rid of the sea monster but when I got to tribal stage I couldn't go onto land so now I'm stuck on tribal stage in the water >:( I've tried re-installing the game but it didnt work :( Have you found a way to fix this???
happened to me when i played for first time..
i though i broke the game :w

I think this glitch occures when you press Esc during the very short cutscene of the cretures getting out of the water.

Another glitch is when the others migrate you stay as an egg forever so you need to delete the planet.

As far as I know, there's no apparent way to fix this, and I can't use pandywakko's method because my game starts to screw up during the Space Stage.
There is one way, of course; delete the glitched save file, which I did. Never happened to any other planet of mine afterwards.

Download the mod and do following
try to download a save game with space stage.
use the space stage thing to edit the planet and do land everywhere.

it happed to me too. And i felt excited, icould swim everywhere without the giant fish eating me. But when i went out of the water the fish ate me.
