yes, she certainly knew her craft but she could not get past her own ego otherwise she would have admitted to herself that she was not right to play mame and did the role an injustice...for heaven's sake..the women cant' hold a note.
It was not a good vehicle for her. She tried something and it didn't work. In her career that only happened twice since the the first tv show. Now honestly people watched that movie not due to her singing talent, but because she did something unusual for her.
i hear you and repsect that you are entilted to your opinion...but i still feel that role should have gone to somone who was an accomlished singer...she did not have the vocal talent to carry that role. it was her own ego she could not get past.
