  • Excellent song!!!!!!! ^_^

  • 0:39 to 0:45 is pretty awesome but of course all the song is EPIC! LONG LIVE Paul Gilbert and Buckethead!

  • WOW!!! SO AMAZING!!!

  • Remenber some electronic music from Germany, some Schulze ambient, but a litle more happy, less darker......... Nice.

  • I can't stop raping Play button D:

  • watch?v=_PsXWpbKBxw check this vid out to see more of the same delay effect!!

  • Reminds me the Edge U2 jaja

  • Reminds me Fall of Troy ;).

  • 240p just grew some balls.

  • better than mainstream music

  • This is so dam good

  • This is what today's dance music SHOULD sound like.

Not some stupid sub-woofer changing pitch at random intervals with no musical direction.

  • @H057IL3 wow u must listen to electronic music ALL the time, i mean that IS all dance music today is, you're sooo clever, definitely no musical direction in it at all you close minded prick

  • @carnifex190 Well that's all I hear nowadays.

I like dance music... it's called disco and it wipes the floor with electronic dance music in general. Don't tell me dubstep or repetitive house "music" is any good, because it all sounds the same and blows ass.

Just for the record, I compose music for video games that I make on my free time.

And by the way, in the wise words of Les Claypool, insulting people over the internet is a sign of small and insignificant genitalia.

  • @H057IL3 True, a lot of it sounds the same. But modern dance music really has no musical purpose, it's just for fun. Then again, there is little respect for actual music these days...

  • @UnknownSect333 Precisely. I blame the lack of musical and artistic appreciation in society. I just find it mesmerizing to see people on the bus listening to dance music. Dancing or working out to it, maybe. But casually listening to it on the bus??? How does one do it???

I'm afraid for the future when it comes to music. We have Mozart, Vivaldi, Bach... people today prefer dubstep: a sub-woofer changing in pitch using the same old beat, at least, from what I've heard. No melody or musicality.

  • @H057IL3 Honestly, I occasionally do that, but it's usually relaxing somehow... Don't be afraid though, there are people out there who want to change it back, or uphold the real music. There are a few dubstep songs with a melody, like Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites by Skrillex. Eventually it goes back to the annoying dubstep sounds though.

  • @UnknownSect333 That's the same reason I dislike modern metal. Some guy starts yelling like an idiot from the top of his lungs, which usually is one-dimensional and unmelodic.

I've always made sure my own music was very melodic before anything else. That's why I like Paul, Steve, Satch, etc.

  • @H057IL3 Well, it's the same case with every current genre of music that hasn't been deleted from mainstream like Fusion. And I'm assuming you make music too? Then I guess it's up to people like you and me to change music back to music!

  • @UnknownSect333 Hell yeah!

    But it'll be difficult...

  • @H057IL3 I blame your bitterness about modern music with your apparent inability to find good music. YouTube is the resource of information containing every genre of music and tens of thousands if not millions of compositions of every style. Go look for the music you like. Support the artist if they are small-time. Just enjoy. :)

  • @IronGuitarist I know that there IS good music today out there (Fuzz Universe is amazing). Thing is, years ago, you didn't have to look for good music, as it found you.

  • @H057IL3 In the formal channels..... you are right. In the sevnties the mainstream was too much better than today´s meanstream. But we gat now other channels that help us to found really amazing treasures in the music planescape.............Of course FORGET the mainstream!

  • this makes the edge look like such a pussy

  • @SuperCockism don't be so hard on him as Paul some day could approach same things as we do and we'll be the ones who are the ball lickers :D

  • needs more virus squelches :)

  • This is the only song of Paul Gilbert i can play, at full tempo. Also the most worth <3

  • i want to learn this song so bad i already have the effect set up but i dont have the high e and b string. FUCK!

  • Techno Gilbert ! How can you classify this ?

  • this is hard to play but is the most easy song of paul !

  • lmao techno beat took me completely off!!!! Ive seen him play this live. and not like this! i love it!!!!

  • @IRideExpedition Naaaaa! Paul Gilbert of Guitar! Chuck Norris is scared! hahaha

  • Delaycious xD

  • personally, i like the nova delay a lot. but then again, i suck. just like the name of this song ^^

  • From 4:46 on all I can think of is BUCKETHEADD haha

  • Comment removed

  • This could be the soundtrack for the TRON movie :D

  • 5 people need to get out of paul's yard......and stay out!

  • I like how Paul seems to be influenced by Venice Rondo's and apply them to his music. If you all wants to study this kind of classical stuff listen and play over Italians "Rondo' Veneziano". They're absolutely masters on that stuff.

  • i love the PGM700 that hes holding on the album cover

  • all i can say is wow

  • he must have thought long and hard about what to call the song

  • @hipeas93 I didn't know the name of the song and typed 'Paul Gilbert Echo" into the search bard and found it so its a good name for the song =]

  • @hipeas93 He must've thought real hard about EVERY aspect of this track except the name :P

  • @hipeas93 EHEHEHEHEH... long and hard

  • if you want emotion in playing guitar and your thinking of buckethead, you obviously havent heard of dimebag

  • @boba1mighty

    Lol he got shot

  • @boba1mighty i think you should listen more of buckethead then !! :)

  • im learning this ssong :) i want to buy a line 6 dl4 delay pedal for it :P

  • @loopyfistfighter1 go for it, line 6 delay is the shit for this song

  • Who gives a shit MAB Buckethead Paul Gilbert. They all play WAY better than you guys and while they may have flaws they arent better or worse just DIFFERENT. If you say MAB has no emotions seriously, actually listen to some of him stuff. if you hate buckethead because of his "stupid persona", learn to have some creativity. if you hate paul gilbert, well... what the hell is wrong with you. lol :)

  • I used to think Buckethead was one of the best guitarists out there, but exploring more of his music, most of it is utter bollocks. Not emotional, just pathetically improvised. And this persona he has going on gives a false impression and makes him seem like a better player, he doesn't come ANYWHERE NEAR players like Gilbert, Vai, Petrucci. He can't even play live properly, and he plays the same licks over and over.

  • @camsell456 You may already know this, but buckethead was a student of Paul gilbert's for a while.

  • One thing you should notice is a lot of these famous guitar players that are known for their shredding dont sweep picking that much. Sweeping is a little overrated, which is why Buckethead and paul gilbert rock.

  • @MrBvitamans7794 Its all about the legato man

  • Im totally tripping over this. MUST. HEAR. AGAIN.

  • ........ I think buckethead needs some more popcorn ... and a NEW YORK STEAK !!! ... Mr. Gilbert IS IN the top five ... not too many humble people in the top five ... is there ... and Paul isn't afraid to show His face ... and smile... and leave you in the dust ...

  • Very Future Parkourish

  • yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.

    win.

  • i usually just rest my palm on the bridge

  • doesn't rusty cooley elbow pick? as in moves his whole lower arm rather than just his wrist, and he's one of the fastest guys there is.....

  • @panny14 NO watch any of his AP technique videos he says its from the wrist

  • you're right, i was looking at his arm wrong, i thought he was elbow picking but he was actually just changing string so fast. Cheers :D

  • @panny14 No, Rusty picks from the wrist, but you must partially use the elbow to change strings, especially if you have a sevenstring like him.

  • This song makes me wanna dance... with STROBE LIGHTS!

  • Crank the bass up and you have a freaking sweet dance anthem. This man was way ahead of his time.

  • Buckethead 1

  • makes me want dance while eatin' this here greazy cheese burger!!

  • i dont get how this should sound like BH's big sur moon

  • FUCKIN PAUL IS THE GREATEST!!!!

  • WOOT 4 PAUL!!!!!!!!!!! i watched his cool effect (delay) video n i saw his fingers!!!! HIS PINKEY WAS AS LONG AS HIS MIDDLE FINGER OMG!!!!!!!!!! AWESOME!!!!

  • No, Buckethead did not imitate that, Big Sur Moon is a way older than this!

  • buckethead is still a hack

  • Howso?

  • He must take like, 3 power thirsts to get this fast.

  • its like one of his slowest songs its all echo =)

  • dkdamoa, knowing Paul, he could've layed 2 guitars on the table and super-soniced this all.

Which is why you don't see his actually playing it, he's so fast, you'd think he's simply faking it all.

  • there are a lot of videos on here that show him playing it. He plays the whole in staccato with a delay at the same level as the guitar signal and a small feedback. It's really cool though.

  • hahahahah

  • I hear he drinks ginger tea before he records.

  • I do to, thanks for that information, i thought i was the only one

  • It's how his kind survive, I tell you sir, he is not human!

  • i'm drinking genger tea everday now.

  • it probably doesn't replace the years of dedication

and practice it takes to pull off most of the things Paul Gilbert does.

  • lol i kno dude. i was jking.

  • OMG sonunds like sun of pearl or adventures of jabubu by an endless sporadiac

  • to be honest i think thats how bucket head came up with big sur moon it sounds a bit similar

  • Paul Gilbert was his teacher.

  • Except "Colma", Buckethead's album which has Big Sur Moon on it, was released years before "Get out of my Yard",

  • sounds like big sur moon - buckethead, a bit :P

  • Its true that m.a.b. doesn't have any emotion in his songs but his songs are like great cause how good he shreads

  • he has to take some weightgainer and go to the gym lifting some weights :)

but we choose the way we want to go..he´s the best at what he does

  • 75% of his lean mass is concentrated in his forearms and hands

  • What's the shirt he's wearing on the album cover?

  • i agree but still a good song

    Paul Gilbert is the shit!

  • you do realize this debate has been going on for years now....your contribution means nothing.

  • is this me or this song is very similar to big sur moon??...it must have something to do with it...besides buckethead was his student....

  • It's the same usage of the delay. Other than that, they're both pretty different.

  • The digital delay gives an impressive effect. Lots of artists use it.

  • Paul Gilbert is insanely skilled.i aspire to be skilled like him.one day.but no bullshit.hes a very skinny man.lol

  • Skilled and skinny.. Not like Petrucci, skilled and.. Not-Skinny :P

  • thats true, but in my personal opinion, it seems like the more muscular players have trouble bending their elbows over their bulging muscles to pick hahah, it still sounds awesome tho

  • Yup. What's important really is that they're not anchoring, playing CLEAN, and above all, practiced their scales.

  • @Xaederaz whats anchoring?

  • Anchoring is when you have your picking hand touching the guitar as you play, such as if you're holding your pinky and ring finger to the guitar body, while you're playing. Bad bad bad bad thing, as you're risking serious injury.

  • @Xaederaz Wait, seriously? What type of injury?

I used to anchor a lot, and I think I still do every now and then.

  • @TEHBR00TZ isn't there 2 kinds of Anchoring? The one he said and where you have your picking arm's elbow laying on the guitar and moving your arm instead of your hand and wrist?

  • Yeah, I think I do the one that he mentioned. I'm actually not entirely sure, now that I'm thinking about it. I know when I first started playing, I'd anchor with my ring and pinky fingers. I don't know if I do it now.

I'm a little worried about these injuries, though. I'd like to know what they are..

  • Carpal Tunnel for instance, which could put an end to your guitar playing permanently. I tried it once before, and damn my arm hurt.. Couldn't play for half a month because of it.

  • You hurted your arm from "anchoring?"

I don't understand how one would sustain any kind of injury from just "anchoring" unless by "anchoring" you mean something bizarre and uncomfortable people shouldn't be doing in the first place.

  • @Xaederaz Wo I had no idea about that, thanks

  • Huh what if one uses the bridge as a pivot without muting the strings?? Thats how I alternate pick...

  • It should work, I do my alternate that way too, but I had some problems earlier, and then had to relearn my alternate more or less into Economic, so I wouldn't strain my right arm/hand as much as I would when I was doing alternate.

  • Thats what I meant by alternate, economy picking. Ive pretty much did that from day one for some reason. lol I had no teacher and it seemed more efficient..of course I have no speed with regular alternate now.

  • Hm. You should try and used alternate as well, just in case. It's always good to have a wide repertoire (sp?) of tools when it comes to music.

  • i twist my forearm works for me

  • i can pretty much only AP while anchoring, and i've been playin the same way for the last 4 years, and it hasn't done any kind of damage as far as i know

  • omg this is ART!!!

  • incredible

  • I can only imagine what its like to have the talent to compose shit like this, let alone play it

  • really this song just sounds hard. echo effects are the shit, yeah?

  • @mxmontiel It sounds harder than it is, but it's still not a terribly easy song.

  • Buckethead = Paul Gilbert's student/apprentice/something in that line.

Yeah, Buckethead learned guitar techniques through Paul, but each to their own world :)

  • daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang

    he's the best....well

    behind mab

  • MAB? He's horribly overrated.

Don't get me wrong, he's really talented, but he shreds, shreds, shreds, shreds, and there's no emotion, whereas people like Buckethead, Zakk, and Satch who write with emotion get overlooked because they're not that fast.

  • Zakk Wylde sucks. too much squels his solos are just annoying. but buckethead is amazing and Satch lol

  • well in my opinion mab is the greatest guitarist ever

    or maybe phil keagy

  • i think u mean Michael Angelo Batio hes mab guitarist. lol and ahhh... Phil is ok lol hes not my kinda style tho

  • My point was that Zakk Wylde plays with a lot of emotion. Yes, I know he likes to smear his wah pedal feces all over every one of his solos.

  • ive never really thought of Zakk from the amount of emotion he uses in his playing.

  • Most people don't. Most people see him as a drunken metal guitarist who's all speed, but that's only part of him. He has some songs (I.E. Untitled, Damage Is Done) that show his true talent as a songwriter.

  • @BucketheadBC He wishes he actually was a metalhead drunk, and he tries really hard to support that image, but he is a country kid at heart.

  • and farewell ballad =) mab has too check out peace of mab

  • @conor1148 check out the book of shadows album he has out

  • i agree.

  • What?

Satch is way more popular than MAB.

  • i just wanted to say my opinion and this turned out to be quite a nice conversation....

actually i didn't know he was jsut the guitarist for mab buuuuuut his name is way too long so it works out

  • i cant stand MAB he comes along (IMO) as a real jerk who thinks he's better than everyone else just cause he can use both hands for playing. gilbert, satch and vai are my favourite guitarists cause they got skill to right great songs that just aren't shred fests and put every ounce of emotion and character into every note

  • Michael Angelo Batio, in my opinion, is just blatant speed.

  • yeah not too much musical quality to batio's music

  • buckethead is incredibly fast, just not as much as MAB. hes the most emotional guitarist ever too. he sings through his guitar ;P

  • I hope you mean Buckethead is the most emotional guitarist ever.

  • i do :P i don't think anybody would say MAB is XD

  • I was hoping you weren't, haha.

  • @BucketheadBC You mean Buckethead is a fucking emo...

  • @p0rkjell0 lol thats like calling KFC emo, all he does is play super fast with a kfc thing on his head, if that makes him emo then im pretty sure alot of people would be dead... its like mcdonalds is the new gangster thing yoooo fo shizz i eat big macs and enjoy a milkshake

  • @p0rkjell0 emos play shit guitar. mostly just boring melodies and power chords and shit.

  • @J0000OOOO although, paul actually literally sings thourgh his guitar sometimes, check out the paul gilbert lefty clinic video thats flowing aroung here somewhere, and bucket is definitly one of the most amazing guitarists anywhere

  • @J0000OOOO lol not as gast as mab? buckethead shits all over mab, and any guitarist for that matter period.

  • @fallios

Faster doesn't mean better. MAB for the most part just plays a bunch of random notes with no musical quality, so in my opinion MAB sucks. Buckethead on the other hand plays with a lot of musical quality and is much better.

  • @J0000OOOO interestingly that Bucket was taught by paul himself so it kinda puts it into prospective, i doubt bucket would teach guitarists because he is trying to keep up a stupid persona... rather he just became brian and taught kids how to play well and stuff

  • I completely agree you hear one MAB song and youve heard them all. And they all have the emotional range of a lawnmower

  • rofl lawnmower

  • Not to mention the tape echo.

  • in my opinion, Big sur moon and Echo song are fucking awesome, EACH TWO.

They are different songs, by different artists, there is no need to say what song is better and who's not.

Big sur moon and Echo song are two awesome songs created by two badass virtuosos of the guitar.

  • i guess it's a phaser, that filtery thing. is it not?

  • Yeah, but there's something on top of it too, it sounds like

  • I'm not too experienced with guitar effects but it sounds like phaser + a tinge of flanger.

  • how do you add fading high/low pass filters, is there a peddle for that

  • Man this song is so trippy in a good way. Makes me wanna dance XD

  • I remember hearing a synthesized techno rip-off of this, but I didn't know it at the time and I can't seem to find it.

  • Quite honestly i think this song sounds alot cleaner then Big Sur Moon

  • Impresionante, awesome, great !. un genio de estos tiempos.

  • SO kickass

    paul gilberto is A.W.E.S.O.M-O

  • is there tabs

  • Yes

  • Sounds like Vectorman.

    Badass.

Sounds like a better version of Big Sur Moon.

    Badass.

  • you know that big sur moon uses a very similar effect as this one in it is just a tape echo and paul is using an filter echo

  • Big Sur Moon was pretty much a rip off of this song....Bucket head was taught by Paul Gilbert

  • Buckethead's album, Colma, the one with Big Sur Moon on it, came out 8 years before this one did.

I don't see how that possibly could work.

  • Could have been an idea Paul taught to Buckethead... Not saying im agreeing with ButtrockZach though !
