Also is there a way to stop the car's engine turning off. If you havent experienced it the gear number goes black(engine shuts off aswell) and then stays black and goes into neutral and then 1-5 seconds later it changes to white and the engine turns on.

@SuckDaEggRoll There is no way that I am aware of to stop this, all it is, is the car stalling from being in to high a gear. As for increasing the gears, go into the chassis folder and browse to [DRIVELINE] section of the file inside. The RPM is not worth messing with, increasing it actually makes things worse from my testing but I may have missed something important somewhere else that had to be adjusted accordingly.

@samstar1412 Well I have found that increasing it by a few hundred rpm can be better. One thing with the gear's I have found is that I have no clue how to change them. What im trying to do is make the gears bigger to go with the larger turbo so it doesnt chew threw the gears to quick. One problem I have though is sometimes going from 5th>6th it can drop down from 8000rpm down to 4000rpm and actually slow the car down or sometimes aswell going from 5th>6th its like im actually going from 5th>3rd.

@samstar1412 Hay man I was just wondering if you know how to do an engine swap? I tried replacing the text in the engine file because if you just delete the engine files and put the new one that you want it doesnt work. So if you know how to do an engine swap that would be awesome.

@SuckDaEggRoll This is also an area I never really ventured into, it may give a performance difference if you manage to do it but unless you remapped the entire cars files it would probably sound the same as the original etc.. Also about the gears, you just change the "Gear1Setting=" etc to a slightly higher number and this will give them a taller ratio so you don't chew through them as fast.

@samstar1412 Hmm I would think it wouldnt need an entire remap but I could be wrong. Im gonna see what I can do about an engine swap. When I increase each gear by maybe 2-4 It often becomes worse I find, if you scroll down you while see my comment about what happens when I mod the gears. Also if the ratio goes like above 59 it like fucks up.

@SuckDaEggRoll The gear ratios are only mapped up to a certain value, I had to add extra values to the gear ratio map to get my current values. If you are finding that going from 5th>6th drops down to low rpm then the gears are to far apart and the torque of the engine is not enough to compensate, try setting the gears closer together and it should solve the problem.

@samstar1412 Also one other thing, do you know how to add a second turbo in? I tried copying and pasting everything in the file except for the first line and then renaming them from turbo1 to turbo2 but that didnt seem to work or showed now real power boost over a single turbo.

@SuckDaEggRoll Are there originally any cars with twin turbo? I would imagine they would be programmed the same as a regular single turbo. Also if this is the case the game may not recognize the second turbo, and even if it does, it may not have any effect because it puts out the same power as the first turbo. Out of curiosity, try setting turbo2 to some a fair bit higher than the first. This should reveal whether or not it is even recognized by the game.

@LegacyGTR360 So you have extracted the files yeah? You will need to right click on them and go to open with and then choose notepad.

@LegacyGTR360 Interesting that it would say that because windows isn't opening the file. Is it possible to right click the file and click select? Double clicking might be still set up to open with windows, which is a bit of a poor effort in the programming. Never the less, give it a go :)

I only want to change the value of some DLC cars which costs 0 now, which kind of ruins the career as you can just take A class car without really earning it..

@MikaPortnoy Yes it is possible to change the cars value :) With the Audi S3 for example, once extracted go into Audi_S3 (extracted folder you created) > Vehicles > audi_s3 > audi_s3.crd. Open in notepad as usual and scroll down until you find the "Price" key or just search "Price". Once there change to whatever, save, repack, and copy car back over. :)

2. There are several Brake settings in the chassis file under the controls section. I changed "BrakePressureSetting" and it seems to work.

3. I am yet to find an effective way of doing this apart from making the car 4wd.

I know got a honda s2000 with 2300HP but its like uncontrolable if you give a little gas it just starts spinning.

@rarf2142 Adding weight will help but it will also make the car slower which kinda defeats the purpose of this mod. Realistically a 2300hp car will do exactly what you are saying in real life if the tires aren't drag slicks and it doesn't have a torque converter. I'm sure there are ways to increase tire traction but I really haven't looked into it other than increasing the cars downforce.

@rarf2142 Gear ratio changes still work fine. Engine swaps work fine to but make sure the engine swap can use one of the turbos or you won't get any extra power.

So i've done this whole procedure now for the alfa guilietta and the carrera gt, but in the game i see no effects: neither the carrera gt nor the guilietta have more hp due to changes in the turbo settings (i know that the carrera gt without the works kit hasn't any :P). What am i doing wrong, is there something i have to do ingame to get these awesome 1000+ hp?

@kachler67 The carrera gt won't show any performance gains from modifying the turbo if the turbo is part of the works kit and that isn't installed. Also some cars you need to make the turbo size REALLY big. For example the supra starts of around TurboSize=60 and you have to raise it to 300+ to get close to the 1900hp that my skyline makes. Try making the sizes a bit bigger. Another thing to note is that the HP increase is not visible in menus, only on the HP readout on the HUD.

@samstar1412 Thanks a lot, expected the hp to be raised in the upgrade menu. Now i also started to look at some other things like the engine setting, have u got any experience with that? Looks terribly complicated, but is it theoretically possible to raise the maximum rev limit up to like 12000 rpm with the max torque at 11000 rpm, so that the engine itself gets more powerful? If so, is there any downside?

@kachler67 You can raise the rev limit but from my experience it actually makes the car worse. It has no advantage if you raise it beyond 200rpm more as the rev limit sound still plays and the car goes no faster although it is revving more. So yeah really it's not really worth it. You can change the cars power level for each rpm however, which is far more affective than raising rpm.

@evillord77 Try running the program as admin, if not make sure you are selected the right "Original.bff" for the file you are repacking etc.

i made a mistake, i unpacked the WHOLE game, not only few car files, then i edited ALL turbos ( so in general, now all cars would have to be faster ) so i launched the game, my FPS reach 33, and i have to shut my computer to stand by mode, just to realize that shift 2 isn't responding!

tried to add "-loose" behind the Command in the Shortcut, didn't help.

i can't use the Repacker i'm too dumb, can i re pack the whole game again? too lazy to re install the whole game : (

@KillaPillaP As far as I know the "-loose" command only works properly with Shift 1. This is why I avoided extracting my whole game. If you haven't deleted anything then your original game files should be intact, otherwise I think the only option would be to re-install the game. Sorry I can't help anymore than that.

@KillaPillaP Ok you need to go into the chassis folder located inside the physics folder. From there you need to open the .cdf file in notepad and scroll down to the "[DRIVELINE]" section. From there you can either change the "FinalDriveSetting" to something a few numbers higher or you can change each individual gear by changing the "Gear1Setting" "Gear2Setting" etc. You shouldn't need to change them alot only increase by 2 a time and test. Hope this helps you :)

@bryan2JZGTE You may need to run the program as administrator. If you are trying to create the new archive directly into the game installation then you will get that error so I recommend building the BFF archive elsewhere and then copying it over.

Im not Gettin all the files. When i unpacked my audi r8 file there was no big turbo. just a small one. theres also no gearbox to change ratios or anything else. i can only change stock parts

@Tw1tchyy Some cars don't have those parts to install in game. This might be one of those cars, I just extracted my Audi R8 and got the same results as you. Just mod the stock turbo as that will be the only turbo on the car. As for the gearbox, you can set what gear has what ratio in the "audi_r8.cdf" that is in the common folder in physics.

@chenksR I have changed certain parts of a skylines body kit to the works kit parts but they were already in the game. I'd imagine that there would be another way if you were looking to change the look of the whole car.

yes, copying is successful but when i go to game there is no modded car, it should be in car lot i suppose or my cars..is there any problem because the game is installed in D partition which is not windows partition? :)

@02091988josip As long as you are copying it to the vehicles directory of your game install, it doesn't matter what partition it is on. Also the car will not appear any differently. Just fully tune it with stage 3 parts and you should definately notice the performance difference.
