Shane, like so many other wrestlers, was just happy to be in the WWF. He knew it was a crappy gimmick when he agreed to it. Now he's trying to turn it around & say it was presented to him differently - that he had no idea it would be crap. Bullshit. He wanted to be a star in the WWF & he wanted the money. He sold himself out.

I do miss the original ECW, I'll admit.

Unfortunately, there is only a small group of people who would really support it returning, since much of the IWC bitches about "too many old guys" (TNA & WCW) and not enough new stars developing. (Then again, the IWC doesn't represent the majority of fans either.)

Now, if ECW were to return with both the old guys, AND some new guys, it might develop a following.

@JayNJayShow ECW had some great wrestlers come through there but Shane wasn't one of them He was overrated. The only things he knows how to do are burn all kinds of bridges & put down Ric Flair in an attempt to make himself relevant. Shane's a douchebag. No wonder his boys jumped ship to WWE w/o him.

If this ECW thing takes off & Shane has any kind of creative say, he'll book himself to win the title. In other words, he'll do the same thing he accused Flair of doing because he's a hypocrite.

@NaughtybyNaitcha That's why I didn't defend Shane in my post. I CONSTANTLY hear him dissing on Flair, although Flair NEVER mentions Shane unless ASKED. (The only time was on a "Legends of Wrestling" episode where somebody brought him up, and Flair said "He's workin' at Walmart now.")

Personally, I don't feel either way about Shane. Don't like him, don't hate him. I do think he acts like a "tough guy" a little too much in shoots though.

If ECW "didn't work" Vince would have never brought it back and killed it off so he wouldn't have to listen to the chants anymore. The buyrate of ECW One Night Stand was through the roof. McMahon ruined the Sci-Fi show intentionally.

ECW on SyFy was actually a very good wrestling show, but you idiots wanted blood and guts every week.

@AmericanNohbuddy Heyman wanted CM Punk to win the title at December to Dismember. Vince over ruled and had Lashley win the belt instead. One Night Stand was a success because Heyman was given full control. The 2006 show was garbage because Heyman had no say over it by then. That's why he quit. Vince killed off ECW and it's plainly obvious to anyone that isn't blind or retarded (I'm leaning on the latter for yourself).

One Night Stand was successful because smarks bought the show and they only ran a 2,000 people building.

He had control in 2006 and blew it with the PPV in december.

i hated ecw as far as hardcore goes cause it was just insane with the barb fire thumbtacks and fire it became a stuntshow. i loved ecw cause of the lucha libres shoot interviews and pure wrestling from guys like shane douglas benoit guererro physchosis super cray tajiri steve austin mick foley terry funk and so many more so in that respect ecw was so fucking much better then watching tl hopper and duke the dumpster droese.
