I remember being 16-17 getting stoned and playing this on my Sony Discman. When the drums and guitar would kick in I would always get startled. Listen to Bonham, pound away, a true Monster force.
In just finishing my first year of phisics in La Plata Nactional University, and if I manage to get my degree and invent a time machine, I swear I'll share it with all zep fans so we can all witness this fucking mindblowing performanace.
One of those deep songs I ve gotta hear every few years. Great sound, short version though. It was always Jimmy Page's talent, that awesome guitar playing, ever since the 70's that made me love Zeppelin!!!
@antdigger Uh, no... Tool COVERED the song, Led Zeppelin was the original maker of the song, and Toll didn't rip it off, they payed Led Zeppelin so they could cover it.
I used to listen to this album when it 1st came out over and over and over. what was weird was I was reading Jr Tolkiens book Lord of the rings at the same time when I figured out that I was reading the inspiration for this song and album. How Fucking cool I thought that was... at 1st I thought the music just kinda fit to the story it was cool to read to until that happened
Everyone. Check out my channel. I am doing Led Zeppelin covers and need input! I only use one microphone, a drum kit, my vocals, and my electric and acoustic guitars. Any other instruments you'll hear are made through the guitars. So please check it out, let me know :)
i love this song, its amazing, but i really urge you guys to check Tool's cover on this. dont worry its not like its my band that im trying to promote, tool has won 2 grammys and are well known to hard rock/ metal fans. im not trying to promote anything, im just trying to say there both really good and the cover is really good, so check it out.
@ShamanKish actually there is a few new bands that are trying to bring back some class to music, listen to the sheepdogs, black stone cherry, taddy porter, just to name a few. but the problem is they just can not catch a break and make it on a major level. its due to the fact that the media has forced fake manufactured crap on todays youth, due to the corporate producers and the media you end up with rap, pop, and people like bieber everywhere kids look today. its about money now, not music.
@ClassicRockfan79 I know. It is a global conspiracy to ban all art from public sphere. Music is not the only one that suffers. This has to be strongly opposed by finding alternative ways to communicate. Art is totally on the margins and people should know where to look for it.
@ShamanKish i have a 5 year old son that loves ac/dc, alice cooper, and black sabbath.. he loves a large variety of rock bands, but on the other hand my 9 year old daughter loves justin bieber, taylor swift, and rap.. when she sees a cd she wants i will not be seen in the checkout line paying for it, so i get her mom to take her. lol. thats where the corporate ideas come in, they push a popular image on girls, they show them a cute face, and sit back and watch billions of dollars roll in.
@ClassicRockfan79 Indeed. It starts with conditioning little babies. Takes an experienced parent to override this kind of conditioning. It is practically impossible to beat it. It is under skin of many. It can only be beaten on personal level.
@ShamanKish last week i went to a parent/ student lunch at my daughters school, at lunch lots of kids sat around me, my daughter told all her friends that i played bass and had been in some local rock bands, lots of kids were asking me questions, but when i ask who they liked , all i heard was " Justin Bieber, lil wayne, and taylor swift.". so i gave a little lecture on music. lol.. by the time i was done all those kids knew led zeppelin, and they all wanted metallica, and black sabbath cds..
@ClassicRockfan79 hey, if have got some free time go check band called GRUHAK, they are great!!!
They sound like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Doors, The Who, Deep Purple, Rory Gallagher, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Cocker, AC/DC, ZZ Top, Allman Brothers Band, Cream, Eric Clapton, Steppenwolf, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Rolling Stones :)
@SuperWholeMilk well, not excatly like every of those... it is more like led zeppelin and pink floyd... i i have copied those bands from their web page...
@1979rickfukingjames Not all youth is lost, there are those who still believe, myself being a 15 year old and Zepp are my favourite band, Purple, Sabbath, Maiden, Dylan, Petty they're all great, and my friends think so too. There needs to be a massive resurgence in GOOD music.
Question: Where to purchase the orignal soundtrack? (*the remastered edition has edited out certain great parts of songs) Thanks for your help. Long live Zep.
I can tell you why the 70s were better- I was a teenager back then- no rap music, no 3rd world low life scum from Mexico and everywhere else. Feminism & it's single motherhood hadn't gone mainstream yet. In other words we were still a first world country (Europe & England as well) now we live in a sewer. It's important to remember that it's 3rd world shit people that make a 3rd world country.
@99breeze2020 I've got a pretty shrewd idea what all the members of Led Zeppelin would've made of your opinions - they'd have laughed at you for being an imbecile.
@justanopinionyeah Led Zeppelin is intelligent enough to know what a 3rd world country is. You're obviously too stupid to know the difference. Why would someone that talent & successful in life ever bother to even look at an obvious loser like you?
@99breeze2020 Hilarious. Have a look at any of the biographies, interviews or lyrics of any of Zeppelin's members, and then ask yourself what they'd have thought of casual racism. You clearly know nothing about the band.
@justanopinionyeah What's truly hilarious are your mindless assumptions. it was a different era & they're prob old enough to be your grandparents. This generation had pride in their heritage & wanted to keep their respective countries pure. The hippy movement wasn't just simply about race & feminism. You like all the rest of only have a tiny sad little world view that is all about nothing but race. You're projecting sick cultural propagandas on people who 100 times more advanced than you.
@99breeze2020 Good effort. It's "like all the rest of + object", "propaganda" as uncountable noun, and "people who are 100 times..."; plus "world view that is all about nothing but race" is vaguely tautological. Apart from that you show progress. Led Zeppelin weren't hippies, and I never said the hippy movement was only about race and feminism. And given my Masters degree in history, I wouldn't call my assumptions entirely mindless. We can keep this up but you need to read some books.
@justanopinionyeah You read some distorted history books- yay- you get a cookie. I was actually there, genius. Well, good luck with your job at Denny's with your history degree, because that's all you'll be able to get with it and enjoy your country as it slowly turns into a 3rd world shithole transformed by the Feminism mental illness & 3rd world shit people.
@99breeze2020 Masters, not degree - big difference. What was your degree in , "Being Frightened And Confused By The Way The Big Bad World Is Going"? An oversubscribed course for ageing cretins I believe. Best way for me to win this argument would be for you to somehow schedule an interview with Robert Plant and watch the great man tear his long blond hair out in frustration at the level of ignorance and misunderstanding his "fans" display.
@justanopinionyeah "Masters, not degree - big difference." LOL, you truly are a moron- that's not just an idle insult. Not to mention that you're lying. The sad part is that even if you weren't lying, you would still be an incredible loser. A Masters degree in History is utterly worthless.
It was a far better time- no sniveling unemployable full of shit little weinies like you.
@99breeze2020 The reason the hippy movement was a failure is the same reason you are wrong about developing world countries. They have developed their own infrastructure without the help of the developed world, and hippies didn't, with its support, if not help. Not an easy task, but they did not fail
But why am I talking to you anyway. You are a fucking bigot, and this whizzes right over the top of your pointy little head

Can somebody explane me: who is playing bass when JPJ is playing keybord?
bigmatherhaker 5 months ago
@bigmatherhaker Maybe he uses piano bass along with keyboard like Ray Manzarek of the Doors or bass pedals.

@bigmatherhaker John Paul Jones used pedals according to the interview he did in Guitar World Jan '91
