Vidya introduction was simply brilliant. She looks gorgeous. That scene reminded me of Madhavi Mukherjee in Charulota and Waheedaji in Sahib Biwi aur Ghulam. A classic beauty.

Yes I agree. But I would also add that the entire movie was simply brilliant! The only flaw in the movie may be that the ending was a tad bit melodramatic, but then again, it wouldn;t be a Hindi movie if there wasn't some bit of melodrama in it...lol.

Vidya Balan looks her best in Old-fashioned Salwar Kameez and Saris. Somehow Western clothes don;t seem to suit her that much.....Saif and Sanju are great as always.

Hey, are you really from Iran? I did not know that people outside of South Asian watch and like Hindi movies.......How did you get into it ? Do people in Iran watch Hindi movies or did you get into it because of indian friends etc?

If you really are from Iran, i suggest you watch the movie"Rang De Basanti." It is one of the most meaningful hindi movies to come out and something that the Persian youth would like, considering the state of the "Green Revolution" in your country....

ya, i'm 100% iranian! i really cant remember how i got into hindi movies, but they translate them alot in iran. they make it ''appropriate'' by cutting most scenes though, which is really annoying. it just ruins the whole movie... thanks for the movie suggestion, i'll look into it. =)

Suchitra Sen was more prominent in the Bengali cinema, but played excellent roles in some Hindi movies too. Her best ever Hindi movie performance was in the B&W Devdas, 1955, with Dilip Kumar and Vyjayantimala. She and Vijayantimala both won Filmfare awards for their roles-- SS for best actress. All songs in the old Devdas are superb. Some represent the best Bengali minstrel( baul) tradition; others are in the courtesan mujra genre.
