  • The Guitar rif and melody is a total RIP of Red Hot Chili Peppers song "SNOW"..he changed the hook but it's the same chords ..I stil dig This dude..great Guitar player....But I hear the copy

  • @calmike14 HOLY SHIT, A BLUES INFLUENCED GUITARIST USED A SIMILAR CHORD PROGRESSION TO OTHER BLUES INFLUENCED GUITARISTS?

    My mind is blown.

  • I'm sorry, HOW ARE YOU NOT FAMOUS PHILIP!!!!!! YOU SHOULD BE UP THERE WITH SRV, JEFF HEALEY, ALL YOUR INFLUENCES, AND YOU'VE BEEN OVERSTAGED BY AUTOTUNED FREAKS WITH NO TALENT!! LIKE THIS IF YOU WANT PHILIP FAMOUS!!!!

LET'S MAKE THIS A TOP COMMENT!!! COME ON, MAKE HIM FAMOUS!!

  • great solo! AMAZING!!!

  • this is my buddy from grade 5, i loved him then and still do! keep on Phill! aorry to say but phill, i'd smoke you on leads but you write great tunes bro!

  • this is my buddy from grade 5, i loved him then and still do! keep on Phill!

  • Could someone write the text of this song? Please! ;)

  • today I discovered this guy and already can't stop listening

  • that song is sounds soo beautiful to my ears! I'm addicted.....

  • 1 person has got no freakin' idea on how great this kid is! This genre is the best kind of music and Sayce and all this generations' guitarists are keeping blues and rock 'n' roll relevant. This r'n'b crap is taking over all our radio stations (speaking for Australia) and we need to bring our music back!

    Rock on Sayce!!

  • him n john mayer should kickit.

  • amen. @rmweav11

  • awesome! :)

  • Bass player is an absolute star!!

  • Oh yes, that is amazing!

  • noone dares to dislike this...but why would anyone? I think I just found my new idol in Phil...thanks youtube (while nerdin on some OX fuzz videos)

  • See Philip Sayce at Maryport Blues Festival 30th July 2011.

  • proper guitar playing ,pure heart and soul , shredding has its time and place but when you watch this you realise this sort of guitar playing will last forever

  • clapton couldnt handle this

  • @Blackwolfsbane clapton heard the original,as did all of the british rockers in the 60's,and they were all terrified

jimi kicked ass in england and the U.S. they could all play the blues but jimi had that sound that f@#ked them up and Trower tried his best to come close but still no cigar so we have Mayer, and Philip,Timmons and others

that try and there are those that are technically better but they've had 40yrs lessons and videos+tabs Jimi did'nt have that all he had was SOUL

  • @Natefunk49 nice one mate-im sure jimi would love this guy

  • @Blackwolfsbane probably but he'd also say flattery is one thing but thievery is another get your own sound

i'm just saying all these guys can play and if you want to be jimi that's cool on a song or two but to base your

whole career on being hendrix ?

  • @Natefunk49 If you're discussing Hendrix heir apparents, that conversation began and at this point ended with Stevie Ray Vaughan

  • @hurpDurp1000 hey,i did'nt say the guy can't play it's just he made the reference to "his sound" which anybody with a guitar knows that his sound is jimi's and as far as stevie he only used the hendrix sound when he was doing hendrix then back to business and the comment about clapton i did'nt make that up it came from claptons own mouth he along with beck and the other british rockers of the day look it up it's documented

  • @leatherandmetal26 - like to spoil my ears :-)

  • brilliant

  • awesome! I love the album :)

  • If some 13 year old can be all freaking out Lady Gaga, Clapton and gang should be freaking about Phillip.....he is the new man in town....imagine a jam with him and SRV...may he rest in peace...

  • philip fuckin rocks!!!!!!

  • 0 dislikes !!!!!!!!!!

  • eargasm.... and he thinks the same by the look of his face, this is what a real musician is supposed to look like..

  • Is that angels note???

  • Is that angels note???

  • Saw this guy last night - He is the full quid. Venue was empty however, Shame.

    (Ears are still bleeding)

  • nov 19th at Boerderij Zoetermeer Holland!!!

  • i prefer this guy over John Mayer.

  • Let the man be welknown!

  • Noticed how theres no Justin Bieber comments saying how gay he is and stuff like that?

This is some of the best guitar playing I've seen in a while.

  • @MaximusPrimification we were doing good until you posted

  • would be sweet to hear philip and derrick trucks jamming out

  • Seth Rogen on bass!

  • @123srv and the Doc from back to the futur on the keyboard!! lol

  • Awesome!!!

    Grandma mary

  • He sounds like john mayer but players a lot better.

  • @andy92811 he doesn't sound like john mayer, he plays different. everyone's always tryna compare players. don't care. mayer's playin' well what he plays. this, guy as well. so stop comparing and enjoy!

  • actually could feel hendrix living in there at the start :)

  • One word.....EARGASM

  • John Mayer ?? Lol..who is he ??

  • awesome performance of a great song

  • Had the pleasure of seeing this 'kid' frequently jamming at Grossman's Tavern in Toronto, OMG, how many years ago? Now he's lighting up the world like I knew he could. Go Phillip. This is beautiful!

  • Seth Rogan on bass? Hey they are fellow Canadians! lol

  • little wing influence maybe???

  • I love true talent and REAL music. Thanks Philip

  • he's got incredible tone. anybody know what his set-up is?

  • All i can say is WOW. What a great song .And he rocks the Vocals & solo hard. He needs a much better backing band if he wants to really hit mainstream .. Hendrix had Mitch Mitchells who's drumming was on a the same level as Hendrix's playing. Gotta have a super drummer & bass player to bring out his best .And these guys aren't it.

  • awesome song

  • damn...ive got work to do

  • love his strat sound

  • amazing! gonna see him in a few weeks - the solo in this song is just great and you really feel the emotion he plays with his strings!

    such a wonderful song!

  • @JDoherty20

me too in london @ 100 club would love to play his guitar/amp setup just like this..........screaminggggggggggggggg

    LOVE IT

  • I have to agree. Philip is great. But a song that kills me is 'Give me up again' by Johnny Lang. Its has every thing a song needs. All respect Philip, you rock dude.

  • This guy is way better than John Mayer.

Great voice,Great Guitar. He just needs a great song.

  • @obrienjamesband this is a great song man. atleast i believe so. the guitar work is amazing, the lyrics aren't bad. overall id say it's damn amazing.

  • @obrienjamesband This is a great song

  • It's called blues, not a thingy.

  • i like the spirit of this guy. has this thingy what richie kotzen has, marcus deml, john mayer

  • Great stuff. Nice singing and playing there.

He does look like Luke Skywalker in this video, though. :-)

  • he plays the guitar realy good

  • I love your voice in this video!!!

  • Thought it was Seth Rogen jammin bass for a little

  • that is ear sex! wow!

  • that bass player is crackin me up

  • Tht plays the guitar like his been possesed by the spirits of Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimmy Hendrix!

  • thnx again Philip. .....and BAND.........

  • Good performer in addition to a good guitarist

  • the bassist looks like he is having a good time.

  • Wow!

  • larry david rocking the keys

  • he's a great guitar player, but the problem is that his music is just a little boring. i mean you're just waiting for the guitar solo to come. there's nothing new here

  • @allornada there's been nothing new under the sun since the invention of the electic guitar, just different interpretations of how to play it. If you're always looking for something new...you must be bored with music a lot.

  • Comment removed

  • If somehow, by a miracle Eric Clapton somehow read this comment all I'm saying is PLEASE let phillip sayce play at the next crossroads festival! he DESERVES to be noticed at a venue like that!

    that's all

    rock on Philip!

    Peace

  • @rmweav11 I've been thinking the same thing. Philip and Bonamassa should be on the next bill. Maybe they were invited but had conflicting schedules but they deserve to be there.

  • @rmweav11 you know it !

  • @rmweav11 sur I agree with that !

  • @rmweav11

Post Philip Sayce Videos all over Facebook and all over Clapton's Facebook, and maybe he will see it!

  • omfg it was a music boom ;D

  • i read about him in a guitar mag and now i landed here and i just can say that he plays incredible

  • yeah my fav new blues guitar player for a few years thought thed all got old or died. new and a breath of fresh blues air.

  • there are a lot of many young amazing....undiscovered....blues/rock guitar players.....

unfortunately....the music industry today...is shit...so none of them don't....really....get as much attention as they should....

  • For example JASON BARWICK from The Brew. He is really awesome, much better than Sayce. Take a look at his Little Wing Cover...

  • @Hawkeye62158

Ummm ok? I did look him up, and well..... no. Look we can all have our opinions, but i think its pretty clear Philip is the better player. Has Jason been asked to play with Melissa Etheridge, Uncle Kracker, and Jeff Healey?

  • LOL @ this comment, open your ears....

  • @Hawkeye62158-- Better then Sayce, No frekin way . He's just another white wanna be Jimi Hendrix note for note clone . At least Sayce has some originality in his playing. And a great voice ..

  • you can hear the inspiration from hendrix and this one especially sounds like bold as love at the beginning

  • "...with Seth Rogan on bass!"

  • Just one word: WOW

  • This vid is sick! Joel is funkalicious and Sayce is just insane!

  • Great skills and real emotion - that's what I like of Sayce and his band!

  • Wow!

This video is the first time I heard of Philip Sayce and I bought his album on iTunes before the video ended. Wow!

  • id murder for his tone!

  • the bass player looks like seth rogen

  • he's quite good in'e ?

  • is he using a phaser and delay in the intro

  • I believe Sayce uses a Line 6 DL-4 delay

  • Uni vibe and dl4

  • No, he's using a Univibe and delay in the intro. But close. What a tonemeister, eh?

  • Even a non-musician could see that this guy is absolutely amazing! Not only can he just friggin wail on the guitar, he also has a REALLY good voice! Awesome. This guy is definitely one of my new favorites!

  • Fucking awesome if I may say so!

    Sorry let me rephrase.

    HE IS FUCKING AMAZING.

  • the guy is the best guitar player in the world today, and a great songwriter to!

    awesome

  • awesome guitar Philip...awesome

  • Saw him yesterday at the Montreal Jazz Festival and I was blown away, he's an amazing guitar player and a great performer, this guy has to come more often around here.

  • i just can't stop watching Philip Sayce..

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was there, it was a packed house, the energy that night was beyond electric..I was so swept away I didn't see all the intricasies I can see here..I love that cool off beat syncopated strum toward the end. So much passion inside flawless timing..I got goosebumps all over again..I can't wait to see the rest of the broadcast..That night was INCREDIBLE!!!!!

  • Great performance!

  • great tune. you guys groove. See you in NYC?? we can jam.

    BigTone

  • I love that you have your own time when not with Melissa to do your personal stuff. You two are perfect together, and you are perfect as a lead in your band. Best of both worlds. BTW, Nice hair cut. No more long hair now that you see how cool you are with it short, huh? LOL

    Love You,

    SpeakTruer

  • Can't wait to see you live.

Glad you're finally coming this side of the big pond!

    Cheers from the Netherlands,

    Rob

  • It's so rare to find a guitar virtuoso who can actually sing. Philip definitely is the total package. I'm pretty sure I'd listen to his stuff even if I weren't a guitar geek.

  • Nice job.....Bands is smokin`.

  • Wonderful Playing!!!

  • The intro has a touch of Little Wing, Philip is an amazing guitarist hope to meet and hear play in the future Yea man !!
