My face gets chronic or severe razor burn. I get bumps that look like pimples 3 to 4 days after a very close shave using either a straight razor or any other razor. It stings alot on the 3 or 4th day after and only use electric razors that just don't get close enough. Someone please help me out. Thanks

traditional shaving with DE razors is $.50 a blade if you really wanna save. eventually your quattro blades will get dull no matter how great your soap is.

@blackhatch46 I am not that fussed about saving money (although that's definitely cool too) but I really like things that work well and that's one thing LDC does. It works brilliantly.

@AnthonyProductions09 not every guy will grow a thick beard. the direction really starts to show when you let it grow out for a while and see where it lays down. generally the pattern changes depending upon where the hair is at on your face

this quattro blade lasted me 173 shaves. do you get that many shaves? the secret is in the soap.

the soap has nothing to do with the blade quality. take a microscope to your blade and you'll notice the pattern change as you use it more. straight razors are the only way to shave!

@clymbhigh7 The blade will eventually get blunt .... BUT the soap can make a big difference to how quickly it gets blunt.

I tossed my DE razor over 20 years ago and I'd never go back there. Give me a Quattro or equivalent over a DE razor ... anytime :-)

It's definitely the best way to shave. It depends on your skin of course. I'm lucky to be able to get a good shave by just shaving with the grain.

Not too many about 10-12. I use Gillete Fusion 5. I love the 5 blade razor and how it makes it easier to fix your sideburns and hard to reach parts.

Hi, I find it suits me to shave both ways actually, first with the grain and then against the grain to get my face really smooth.

By the way, I am now on day 124 with the same blade. Started 6 January 2009. The average blade lasts about 90 days but some have lasted over six months, this may be one of them.

I don't do it to save money but because this blade just seems to keep going. I got a new pack of four blades in March when I thought it was due for a change but it's still going strong, so why change? I haven't even opened the pack!
