You have to play it so the ohter strings are muted , you mute them using the length of you fingers / thumb and hit the notes using only the tips with the rest are muted by the rest of your fingers. hard technique to grasp and perfect like this kid has . But when you get get the hang of it , it sounds well funky and alot better than playing single notes.

You can also do that with a finger wich already touches a string, just roll it a bit more to the other string
