  • i would've love to be trained by Ip Man.

  • 甩手直衝

    來留去送

  • 1:00 What if I attack without hand contact? Then, he is really a blind man. Oh, by the way:: I've also legs :-)

  • @MegaSmud without hand contact makes it easier, put all the responding, reflex, or counter moves aside, and have one straight punch or side punch onto the nose with the other hand protecting ur own face would solve the problem.

  • 詠春 = 剛柔並濟 => Wing Chun = hardness with softness

    tnx google translate ^^

    谢谢你谷歌翻译

  • VERY VERY NICE VID. Awesome skills presented here. This guy hs a very powerful tiger spirit. The skill preented should scare any internal boxing practitoner into a wing chun school or a least to interate the techniques into his/her style and practice them ruthlessly. If you practice MMA standup, clinch, takedown situations, box, kickbox, pushhands, or wrestle and or do ground and pound manuvers these traping and striking skills will be a tremendous advantage in unarmed-combat of any kind.

  • god he's fast..I have been training for nearly 4 years now and I know I am fast, but I always feel slow when I spar with my sensei..I feel slow just WATCHING this guy!

  • The essential is already writing on the wall, “來留去送,甩手直衝”

  • Who can describe "沾 粘 連 隨 走” this is the Chinese treditional kung fu 's wisdom

sorry my English is not good~ But these four principles are very important!!

  • @cellarjudge I can try to give an explanation:

沾 - zhan1 - it means to moisten or stick to

    粘 - nian2 - it means to stick to

連 - lian2 - it means to link or togetherness

    隨 走 - sui2zou3 - it means to walk in this fashion

I believe what this proverb means is to attack, fight or proceed in such a way that you can be close to your opponent, ie, sticky hands so that you have feeling.

  • holy effing Sh*t

  • HOLY FKN SHIT!!!

  • This martial art is about efficiency and logicism.

  • i have practised with these hands.....incredible speed, mindblowing control....thank you Sifu Evangelos for everything you taught me......Respect.....

    G.

  • Stay clear of those fast hands, that's no joke in CQC.

  • good..I thing this is wingchun max boxing

  • Anoixe kamia sxolh Gary Lam sthn athina!!!!

  • @BobRawksBaby physique makes a different. Too many WC practicianers focus too much on techniques but don't condition their body to take punishment or even basic cardio.

  • @BobRawksBaby physique makes a difference. A lot of WC practicianers don't condition their body enough to take punichments.

  • wing chun is great vs wing chun, however boxing vs wing chun is a different story.

  • @balancex3 WT vs boxer ends the same way...Boxers are one dimensional. WT practitioners are trained to adapt to the opponent...

  • he is good, but all it takes is a 12 year old with a gun or 1 stab from a knife and its over.

  • @mastergsan same as any unarmed person on the street... martial art doesn't make anyone invincible... with that said, neither can a gun or knife if that person doesn't know what they're doing.

  • awesome

  • its a strong art . . .

  • que capo!!!

  • foniko oplo!!aristos daskalos!!!respect

  • grigoros ke ekrixtikoss... an s vgun se knn kavga 8a skotosis kanena xD

  • Just amazing.Just makes me want to learn Wing Chun even more.

  • 甩手直衝 GOOD!

  • i like it. Not completley traditional but still keeps to principals and does it well. You made something quite powerful sifu evangelos

  • ... amazing trapping hands, chi cao, lops sao pak sao jao sao!

  • Thank you.

  • This muscle guy don't need wing chun. He can simply overpower and bully who ever he wants.

  • sehr schöne Power , so muss Wing Chun Aussehen gefällt mir , Viel Erfolg !

    Grüße WingTsun75

  • I tried this at home and now my hands fell of! :(

  • Good work bro!

I'll see you in 3 months.

  • wow

  • I don't question his capability. I question the show elements of these clips. Thank you.

  • 都沒在練腳的打的贏泰拳嗎?

  • 詠春既腳係馬步為主,通常以入位為主,所以就比較少腳既攻擊

  • 詠春=剛柔並濟

  • 剛 = steel

    柔 = soft, gentle

    並 = together, simultaneously,

濟 = applied, used, help, support, reinforce

it means "hard and soft both applied simultaneously and reinforce and strengthen each other". This is not only famous Wing Chun philosphy and famous Chinese maxim, but is a signature of Wan Kam Leung. I have not heard any other Wing Chun sifu use these words, but they could. The phrase is a Chinese proverb, that applies to Wing Chun philosophy.

  • .... not a traditional Wing Chun maxim. Wan sifu has these words written very large in calligraphy and on wood in his school in yau ma tei, so whoever said this is most likely a student of Wan sifu, or at the very least is very familiar with Wan sifu's Wing Chun philosophy.

  • @sifuevangelos as a matter of fact it is. wing chun has a whole load of maxims. the foshan wing chun association recently (2009) created a wing chun song out of those maxims

  • @sifuevangelos good teacher good student ......

i think you are the best greek wing chun fighter at the moment ....... ur wing chun is good

  • @sifuevangelos

we think similarly and are not of the same lineage. i don't often see WC like this but you're not alone

  • @sifuevangelos i know the speed

  • @sifuevangelos actually a better translation for the last character would be 'present' as in 'present and accounted for'. The meaning of the phrase is actually better translated as "Possess both strong and soft"

  • not too bad

  • i got my ass kicking by my sifu ,painful in ass

  • sifu evangelos is a real fighter...not just in practice but his job too...He likes kickes some asses....go sifu!!!!

  • veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy nice respekt my friend

  • This guy is pretty good. It must took him long enough to do those kind of moves. I mean, u have to do ALOT of practice inorder to be this good(with eyes close)Thumbs up for this dude

  • I personally find it easier with eyes closed, or looking away... At least in practice with a 'soft' chi sau. When I observe my eyes are drawn to one or other fist, and, thus I miss the fight (and get hit). Close your eyes and you learn to feel. Reaction to a touch stimulus is much faster than see-process-think-react...

  • @CaiRemnant Man, i hope that, this will help me too!!

  • Hello please check universetechnique, universetechnique2, greatsorcerer, greatsorcerer2, thaijellybean242. Thank you. Enjoy learn something new. View all my favorite. Thank me later. • Very good. Thai

  • Greetings from LA , my Sihing Evangelos! I'm a new 4 month student of Sifu Gary Lam, luvin every moment when I train there in his backyard with my other Wing Chun brothers. It's not just great and awesome Wing Chun we get to learn, but just that special cosy feeling of Sifu's backyard with the orange trees, grapes, etc. Fantastic! Hope U get to come back for a visit in Monterey Park, CA in 2010!! take care and awesome videos !

  • impressive sir

  • this is my sifu and this is the best wing chun ever!! not the other bullshits that are on youtube!!!

i am very proud i found this wing chun!!!

    bravo sifu!!!

  • this is THE real wing chun!!!

the best wing chun and the best wing chun grandmaster is sifu gary lam not the other bullshits u are looking!!

sifu evangelos is the best teacher you can imagine!! why?because he is my teacher!!!

  • bruce lee should be the father of mma.. he introduced us to mixed styles of fighting.. and he respects each and every MA if bruce lee was still alive.. he would own evry one

  • This is some seriously GOOD Wing Chun.

Even the layperson should be able to see the difference between somebody with the SKILL shown here and the countless Youtube videos of people "playing" at Kung-Fu.

  • Seriously, Im getting sick and tired of little faggs that come and comment on kung fu/ wushu... You guys literally have no idea what a trained wing chun user can do. People bring up ufc, I could apply a wing chun chain punch with the tiger claw hand form, those rapid fire strikes would be going to your eyes and throat. In mma, thats not exactly following rules and regulations...

My conclusion. Take any MMA fighter and put them in the street with a wing chun user of at least 3 years... OVERKILL

  • me to i agree with what your saying but the only thing i dont agree with is saying our MA would kill anyone else its not about the MA its about the practitioner and how good that person is at his MA. I have respect for every other MA and the people who practice it no MA is easy to pick up it all takes time and heart to build yourself up so all im saying is before people mindlessly type crap on the internet please use your brain and think about what your going to type thank you :)

  • problem with WC in these days is that it lacks good instructors, people who have their shit together and have fought in the street. most martial arts teachers these days give their art actually a very bad reputation and that counts for WC too sadly. The standard got very low. Tell me how many WC schools do full contact training? maybe 0.5% of all WC schools out there and mostly the schools aren't known to the wide public

  • im jus curious but why do white people think chuck norris rules???

honestly amoung real fighters, hes a joke.

if i got beat by him, haka kiri!!!

  • lol i wonder that aswell but at the time karate was the big thing and he was up their with the best in karate or he was the best i cant remember thats why bruce lee wanted to fight him in his film and after the film chuck even confessed he would get his ass kicked by bruce but then again i dont think anyone would want to fight bruce not unless they had a death wish :D lol

  • you gotta be kiddin me chuck was one of the hardest kickers in his time. chuck and jow lewis were decent fighters. maybe one could consider their stuff as outdated but they WERE the real deal

  • Chuck Norris owns all.

  • wing chop crap..

  • ufc proved that shit gay styles like these get owned..i know jujijitsu its my life..

i can honestly say that its great art and way of life ..juijitsu is the only art that can be used alone and still kill other styles ..especially kung pao shit like this..

  • well.. TKD claims it's not meant for cage fight.. I guess in a crowded train Wing Chun wins all. All styles have their use. It's just how and when you apply it.

  • @degeng Wing Chun kills you, its not a wrestling move.

  • UFC is restricted you idiot. You can not hit the throat or eyes.

You are an absolute retard lol. hhaha i'm laughing at your stupidity.

  • @GianniGivarche This guy has some pretty fast hands, this isnt the first time UFC has not allowed certain people fight the Dog Brothers were also not allowed they did some pretty nasty Kali moves. Its also rumored that the Gracies dont fight people that are known to be able to beat them. Its said that Rickson Gracie would not fight Gokor or Benny the Jet due to there grappling ability.

  • @Mider999

I've heard the same kind of thing from two entirely different sources. BTW, these were real people I spoke to in person who've had dealings with the Gracies, (not stuff I read online), one of whom was a grappler (man he hated the Gracies). Basically, from two entirely different sources I heard the same story - the Gracies do everything they can to stack the deck & make sure they win, and most of those things are faaaaar from sportsmanlike.

  • @GianniGivarche hahahah im laughing at your comment :D peace

  • UFC is just a sport, it bars almost all forms and styles, and they ban shots from behind, elbows to top of head, shots to eyes, throat, and testicles. Most forms of oriental martial arts are based on purely breaking, killing and disabling people, which involves all of those, kung fu in particular is NOT a cage style of fighting.

  • funny how people that know nothing about martial arts spew their ignorance because they started watching ufc. cut the commentary and just watch suckas :)

took wing chun for a year; I definitely think it could have its applications in a sport setting like MMA

  • jeez people place way too much emphasis on styles, it's about the trainer/sifu/sensei and the student. I took 2 forms of karate, wing chun, and now I'm learning jiu jitsu and muay thai. stop bitching about styles and just take the martial art that works for you and advances you whether it's boxing, wrestling, kickboxing, etc. etc.

  • my friend how could u have gone from a taditonal backround like karate to kung fu and start learning this modern sport wrestling brawling style? if u understood how ur stance applys and chi sao from wing chun, why would u choose thai kickboxing and "ground and pound"?

  • Thai Boxing is a lot better than Wing Chun tbh and thai fighters with speed can easily overpower wingchun fighters

  • u r idiot?

    wing chun is not fighting

    it is WAR!!

  • thai boxing is a sport, wing chun a selfdefence.. you dont train to fight against real hardcore thaiboxers, you train it to fight against a common atacker on the street. And also make a difference between al the kinds of wing chun out there in the world.. they became to different so you can't talk about wing chun in one content anymore.. Some wing chun arts suck.. but some are extremly dangerous (and not popular: vt) .. so dont underestimate something you have no clue about

  • which is the one that u say is extremely dangerous?

  • Any martial art is only as good as the practitioner. People pick a style that best suits them. Wing Chun isn't for everyone.

No one style can be said to blanket defeat anyone of any other chosen style as it is entirely dependent on how well the practitioners involved have learned and apply their arts.

Gross generalisations are rarely accurate in my experience.

  • I agree..

Every martial art has has the same idea and good as his practitioner and must be respected.!!!

  • I have to agree with what your trying to say.

Most street fights end up being close slap battles of punches trying to get through, and on the ground. This was developed to get around that.

When with boxing, you have these big gloves and your limited to not being able to grab the arms and pushing. I have done boxing aswell, and Ive also tried wing chung.

  • Strong and Dangerous = Powerful

  • ruin your students hands you are.

  • I heard that Gary Lam is doing a London seminar soon. Nayone know any details? I'm too lazy to go hunting round the internet lol. Please PM me with details

With regards to this clip - nice smooth hands and good transitions - remember that it is only a demo video. If he put the shots in, he would hurt his student and he probably wouldn't come back!!

  • not the best

  • is this a joke, or is this for real?

  • wing chun is unreal, people who are ignorant n knock it before knowing what its about are missing out

  • ellada eisai pantou megali dunami

  • sound effects too huh? good stuff, so do you gain the speed and power as you go?

  • Good Evangelos!

  • 1. HOLD UR BREATH!

    2. copy and paste

    3. now go to another video and copy and paste it in the comment box!

IF U MAKE IT ALL THE WAY WHILE HOLDING UR BREATH.......UR AN AWSOME KISSER.

  • .

A movie finally is coming out about the legendary Ip Man of Wing Chun:

    Youtube:

"Ip Man/Yip Man Official Teaser Trailer with Subtitles(New Donnie Yen Film!)"

    .

  • Saw it at the cinema a few weeks ago (in China) it's actually pretty good. Another film about Yip Man is coming out too (I think Tony Leung is Yip Man in this one), but sadly the director has chosen supreme twat, sell-out and gong fu nobody (and by that I mean he knows absolutely jack shit about gong fu, but thinks he does and he's the shit) Zhou Jie Lun (Jay Chow/Zhou) to play gong fu legend Bruce Lee. I for one will be boycotting this movie. I hope the director has a VERY swift change of mind!

  • I thought it was Donnie Yen's movie that was featuring Jay Chou right?

    Ip man2

  • Good stuff! It's nice to see bong sao/lop sao trained with some degree of intensity. Great speed an power, too. Looks like what WC is for - fighting.

  • can any1 explain wuts wing chun?

  • its a form of kung fu, designed for realistic situations i.e. for on the street.

gains power from speed, precision and technique rather than raw power like in boxing.

its like kung fu streetfighting ;)

  • its obvious that you know nothing about boxing from your comment. boxing is speed, precision, technique, and power. some boxers just go for power but they suck.

  • agreed

  • no. not exactly Mike Tyson was mostly power and good. Yes, he had speed and was agile. He had agility, but he was mostly power and could beat better rounded fighters

  • It looks a bit hard and stiff, but feeling and sensitivity are hard to judge from a clip. Nevertheless I like it.

  • No, actually, in Wing Chun you have to be "soft".

  • wing chun is known to be uncommitted. That means if a strike fails to connect, the martial artist may flow into another strike wiith ease. This can only be achieved when the body and muscles are fully relaxed during striking. This is why wing chun is known so well for chain punches.

  • 0:58 is very useful :)

  • evagele ta spas ala ta spaei kai o dikos m sifu o mixalis papadonakis an to kseris!!!:D

  • ive heard wing chun was originally meant to train chinese soldiers in unarmed combat in a short period, making them battle ready in a short period of time. and was it created by multiple kung fu masters or was it made by a woman? i keep hearing these two different statements

  • sifu is greek????

  • WRONG distance!

  • Let me say i respect the hard work and skills of these guys. But, i can't accept it as a good example, even if this is a training fight. What's the matter with one guy doin some punches to the head while the other guy just still stands with his arms down. Throwing some punches without any power behind - no impulse, no hips turning in, not going through the hit point. U have to choose between to express your body in fight or just try to impress non-skilled followers. I am not judging Wing Chun.

  • guys, first of all it's not a spar session, it's a demonstration ok. showing wing chun moves to people who dont know anything about them. and that's not his training partner, that's his student. this is how students learn in martial arts. if it was a vid of him and his sifu then his sifu would be demonstrating on him.

we have a lot of hip turning and follow through in Wing Chun and I'm sure sifu Evangelos would be happy to give you a friendly demonstration. this is a demo vid, not a spar vid.

  • furthermore, you really dont know what you're talking about, talking about real fight. Sifu Evangelos has been working night security at the best clubs in Greece for many years and has been in more real fights than probably you and everybody you know combined.

Wing Chun is a real combat art, not sport. Whether anybody wants a real challenge fight, or a polite demonstration, just ask and sifu Evangelos will be happy to show you. Thx for your comments and good luck in your training.

  • ive notised hes a bit muscular for a wing chun practitioner, ive heard smaller muscles are better suited for the style. does it really matter or not?

  • There are 4 main types of muscle groups:

    1)Surface muscles for speed

    2)Deep muscles for strength

    3)Small joint muscles for stabilization

    4)Rotational muscles (wrist, neck...)

WC fire element attacks uses 1), for structure and power attacks it's 2) and 3), and for hand techniques, Tan, Bong, Huen is 3) and 4). All of WC power attacks are actually a bit of speed, but mostly deep muscle from the structure. Unlike other styles which uses muscle and kenetic energy, WC uses mostly structure.

  • superdruid, yeah smaller arms are better for wing chun just because theres less resistance so you can get in there faster. alot of wing chun practitioners will work on their triceps more than biceps because it will help strength while maintaining speed.

having said that, sometimes its good to have a little heavy muscle on you so you cant get pushed around by a 400 pound sumo wrestler.

gotta find a good balance between the two.

  • You're right, maybe i argued a bit too generally. I noticed that this is a demonstration, but isn't better 2 demonstrate a clean and realistic technique and isn't more authentic 2 defend against an opponent - even if it's a demonstration. I don't mean 2 fight back, but please keep the hands up or at least try to cover ur head.

If you read between the lines i am talking about defending not fighting.

Thx 4 the offer: Real fights belongs to fighters on both sides, 1 fighter doesn't make a fight.

  • Again, bearing in mind that this is a demonstration video, look again at the example where he is blindfolded. I know it does look rather like the guy is just holding his arms down, (which he proably is), but in reality the instructor's arms would actually be preventing the other guy from coming up. (Though this does not mean he could not come around in a slightly long-winded manouvre, but again, this is a demo). Trust me, it really does work when you are good at it. No skill comes without effort

  • It looks good.....but his training parteners are not following up either. It's like 2 step sparring

  • that tatooed guy on this vid inst clasic wt practicioner i "smell" something "bad" from him

he isnt much accurate but he will be pretty strong

  • hey Bon Quack, i'm sure if you go to his school he can clasically hand you your ass by giving you a very nice punch to the nose with great accuracy.

    wanna try? 梁挺根本不過是個生意人,他自己也這麼說,隨便一點基本皮毛功夫 就可收他皮。襙!

and as for bad smell, tell your leung ting mommy to close her legs, she's losing friends.

  • χααααα...

εχουμε και στην ελλαδα τετοιες μαλακιες!!!

  • very good. On 53 seconds, is that "pak Sau then Man sau"?? couldnt really see, very nice combo though.

    good work

  • I agree that his timing and controll are Very good ! that shows a really good martial artist

  • why does he have his shirt off?

  • what gets me is not his speed but his control. Its amazing that he can move that fast and not drop his partner with an accidental hit to the throat.

  • So does he fight blind folded too?

    Silly man.

  • olliewells212 he cant but he can fuck your mom blindfolded though hell even i can bang your mom blindfolded too bring the bitch over ..........come on be a good sport....but tell her to shave her back

  • To the inexperienced fools, no this aint "patty cake." And also addressing to the person who says "Who starts fight touching hands." Statement like these shows your ignorance and you know little of the arts.

This practice is called Chi Sao, a drill for hand sensitivity, this is not how they fight realistically.

Through this practice, they train their mental reflex, sensitivity, and speed to deliver fast, counter-attacks, to the target in combat.

  • I agree totaly with CupNoodlez, and i have to add something:Yeah it's quite possible to start a fight touching hands..It happens when your opponet is trying to wrestle with you..

  • Hi Bro.. i am not shore if i come this year and if than just for a short time a week or two maybe not 3 months like last year...

  • it's not THAT impressive that he can do that blindfolded. Their arms are touching. What does he need to see? That being said he's got amazing timing & control & strength.

  • This guy has amazing timing and control. He would smoke the average joe without even trying.

  • zdfgergkfbeifhuhcfebhrew4ujrio bigor8c;ofrhuf4;hior4f4er3,f mejfbehjfbn

  • to real fighter it sounds as if you have never been involded in martial arts or perhaps have been involved in the wrong schools.I'm notsaying that all martial arts out there today are the real deal but martial arts evolved as a system to keep yourself alive feudlistic times and is the basis for all law enforcement, and military self defense systems. please do your research on this if it was all make believe then our soldiers that you reference would never survive a single hand to hand situation.

  • Real fight is a combat between one or more individual and usually takes place in unpleasent situations and circumstances , martial arts ideas are to con people to give them a pictured confidence using certain cocky and made up fake moves so they can think that they will face a real combat situaton , NO ! a real natural combat situation needs nothing but you fearless and trained to face any circumtances like a soldier! that is the real art of dying in order to kill and not to die !

  • who starts a fight in the middle of a game of lets touch arms?

  • Hm. I would be more impressed by him blocking every punch (without looking) if there were some variation in the attacks. They come at a constant - slow - pace and aim for same target and come along same path.

Besides, whenever he begins to strike back, his oponents transform into stationary targets making no attempts to evade his attacks.

I do not doubt that he is good, but the video does not demonstrate it IMHO.

  • looks like they are playn patty cake?

  • this guy is lame, i can do that without hands

  • what happened to your hands!? :O

  • Sify Evangelos nice vids! I like appreciate your attention to detail with the chi sao & blindfolds. I live in the Dallas Texas and wanna try Wing Chun are you aware of any instructors in this area?

  • That dude is bad ass I wouldn't wanna drop boz with him.

  • I'm a student of sifu mike felder his teacher was sifu lo man kam, do you now him ?

    greetz spideworld

  • Nice ! I'm a student from sifu mike felder his teacher was sifu lo man kam, do you now him ?

  • Very impressive!

  • I love the style of Wing Chun. Mostly attacks on the throat and neck. You can build muscle pretty much anywhere on the body besides 2 areas. Your neck area, and your groan area. Keep them open and your pretty much down on the ground.

  • In JKD you have just to undrestand the Principiall....this is the iportant thing...if you undrestand that you just have to search the free ways, you will be a good fighter...

  • φιλί :)

  • Gia sou Sifu! Eisai Megalos, Respect!

  • all these sifus have like chinese all over the walls, do they actually know what it means?

  • My Sifu Grandmaster Gary Lam made the Lines on the Wall on his first Visit in Greece..

The are Two Concepts of Wing Chun Fighting

Lat Sau Che Chung(always forward springing Energy) and Loi Lau Hoi Sung(Pull Wat is coming in to you and Push Wat is going Away from you)

Lat Sau is well known in the Wing Chun Community but not the Loi Lau concept so

well and actually high level of Wing Chun

    Fighting..

  • Play and control your Opponent center and Balance Back and forward so you can create a gap to Hit him..Loi Lau Hoi Sung

Do You KNOW Wat THAT means KNOW..???

  • Stop blowing!

  • I am a senior level IV student in JKD and I got to tell you that this is one of the coolest training videos I've seen who is the master in the blindfold.. That guy is a master's master!!

  • Much respect, Sifu.

  • I need some advice. I live in Lousisiana and to my knowledge their is not a single Wing Chun school here. I'm wanting to learn it but I can't move (college) yet I don't want to wait years to find some instruction. Does anyone know what would be a good way for me to learn the basics somehow? (I dare not learn anything higher without proper instruction from a good teacher)

  • I suggest reading books on Wing Chun or searching up basic training videos on the internet.

  • GREAT CONTROL.

  • How long have you been doing Wing Chun for? I must say I am impressed.

  • Why does his parnter stop after he starts attacking
