I love the historically accurate touch of the way Janet mimes holding the earpiece. But of course, this is Janet we're talking about.
I had a thought last night: It would be a fun experiment to take a group of high-school kids and watch them try to figure out how to use a dial telephone -- much less something from pre-dial phones!
Yep, that Janet girl is something else! And, I'll bet the teenie boppers would have some real confusion trying to figure out those old wind up telephones. 1 long & 2 shorts, etc..
You can still get a version of the "Busy Box"(?) for babies, with the phone dial-- I don't know what use that will be for them!
There's an antique/ restoration/ phone company called "Hello Central" in San Luis Obispo, but I don't think they have a website (I picked up their card at an antique store in Orange CA.)
I saw Janet using a cell phone one time (to locate a Parlor Boy who was running late) and I averted my eyes... it didn't seem right!
And then there was the time I stopped in the lobby to tell Janet goodbye after a show, and the fellow ahead of me insisted on giving her a "High 5"...
I recently saw a newspaper clipping from 1912 in a book about the history of the Beach Boardwalk in my home town of Santa Cruz, California. The headline: "BAND LEADER ARRESTED FOR RAGGING". I wonder if the city ever officially repealed its "anti-ragging ordinance" or if it technically still is illegal!

@jboyer5851
Do you have a list of the song titles, composers & year published?
That is the only way I (or anyone else) might know if there is something of interest.
Best,

"Baby O' Mine" from 1926.
Hello, Central? I remember my grandmother saying "If you don't know the number, why don't you call Central?"-- and that was around 1980!

Janet using a cell phone? HORRERS!
I wish you hadn't told me about it. It has such a destructive effect on my image of her.
Oh well, maybe I'll adjust.

High Five?
Those are for boys with boys.
Janet is most definitely a girl.
Hugs and/or kisses are much more appropriate!

"Boys with boys"...?
Careful, you're liable to get a women's sports team mad at you (and the next thing you know, you've lost your radio show!)

Thanks for sharing all that great music, Tom. You're the best!

Thank you sir! It is all such wonderful fun. I'm surprised the government hasn't made it illegal!

I hope it is still illegal!
It's more fun when it's outside the law!
Just think of all the fun and creativity that took place during prohibition!
