Back in the 80's I was able to get to know Dar. He was headlining the Houston Astodome show. We did a car jump the night after. Our transmission broke and Dar and his guys climbed under the car and helped us replace it. And we were competitors! Thats the kind of guy he was. Very cool, very human. Rest in peace Dar!
I dont. But if you do let me know. We hung Johnnie from a gallows and afterwords Dar plugged the Don E. Branker Festival of Thrills. Let me know if you find it.
I am really proud of him, but like most stuntman and stunt coordinators, they dont get any reconition they deserve..But when it is all said and done, they both will go down in history as the best one two punch in the Hollywood Stunt business.I was just watchin Lethal Weapon the other night and i forgot about that film being In memory of Dar,and that he did a couple stunts in that movie. .Thats cool that you know my Dad, he is a good Man in most ways!!
Your absolutely right. Dar was the greatest stuntman, but being good friends with both Dar and Ky, and having done many stunts with both, Ky was the most important associate that Dar had. Ky always did everything possible to try and make Dar safe, in a very unsafe business. They both have my highest respect and admiration.
I produced a live thrill show and worked with Dar and your dad on many stunts Dar did. I jusr ewceived a email from your dad two says ago and plan on calling him today. Your dad is a great man and never received enough publicity for the behind the sceen work he did that allowed stuntman liked Dar and others to do and live thru it.you should be very proud of him. I always was.

Dar was the best. It was a shame he died doing a simple motorcycle stunt.
