I love their linguistics! We have quite some humour like that in Germany, too. Quite some humour like that, too... what a phrase... sorry. :-) "sorry, I... do not... speak english." *coughs*
it's understood as Henry-ate-her, i believe. Of course, explaining the joke totally blows it, it's better when you just hear it and get it, but anyway.... this is just what i think it means...
'Your wrong Peter...oh so wrong...your standing in my children right now...'
Brilliant! Gotta love the early boardroom antics. Hadn't even got the catchphrase 'damn it!' yet. Funny how, in the early ones, they recogniseably get more pissed as the sketch goes on. In later episodes their drinking hardly seems to have any effect at all! Barring the obvious of course...
Yes. God, that sketch is relentlessly funny. Loads of laugh-out-loud moments. When was the last time a British TV comedy was as good as this? Depressing, actually.
Excellent. At last someone has posted what is arguably F&L's best creation. Many thanks. The 2nd school I went to was about 3 miles from Uttoxeter. Cool, eh? Not really, it's a shithole.
I don't get it. Henry et uh?

What ? Drove through High Wykham?
mje79 4 years ago
Thats precisely what it means.. One I dont really get is where he says "I drove through.. the other day"
Kebabsvein 4 years ago
High Wycombe...a town of little consequence. Part of the humour of this series of sketches is that the characters are too big for their surroundings.
