  • How on earth do you afford the power bill, 5000w an HOUR! do your neighbours lights dim when you watch a movie?

Have you considered replacing any of this with low power units or put any of it on autowake or the like.

  • WOW!!! Everything arround wood...that must be very safe!!!

  • how did I remember this was the gladiator theme........weird.....

  • i have ESXi :)

  • holy shit must cost a lot to run all that

  • ese site con un chispaso se prende en un minuto, repruebo los rack de madera, les recomendaria unas estanterias de acero como minimo

  • ziet er goed uit maar waar heb je al die ruimte voor nodig ?

  • Why do you need a proxy in your house?

  • @Robobbly its better if u wont to filter the traffic.

  • @pilotman123321 Ahha thanks! :)

  • Anyone know the name of the song used in this video?

  • what sound tracks this?

  • what songs this?

  • I am running windows 2003 server and a freeNAS server within virtual machines runing on a little intel macmini which has 4gigs of DDR3 memory. Even with the servers runing in a virtual machine, I can still use the mini's os x as normal, the best thing about it, its only using about as much power as 2 CF light bulbs

  • Tiem to consolidate. VMware anyone?

  • LOLZ....

  • how much is your power bill???lol

  • EEK... based on what I get charged for power, 5000 watts run 24/7 would come to around $550 a month!

  • so, unless you serve hundreds of people, you won't need anything else, than a newer system. If you are really hardcore you can make it a dual sockes system, with a raid setup :D

What you are using are way to overkill, and energyconsuming, unless, offcause, you server your entire city ;)

  • You should buy some racks...

  • That's nice Im plaini to build something similar to that in da future. But im wondering how much do u pay electric bills man thats a lot and I notice that the servers that u using r pretty old they really power consumin.cheers

  • ouch, that's a lot of power. how much is monthly electric bill?

  • is dat in je kelder ofzo ?? XD of slaap je tussen die dingen ?

  • Nice man ;).

How can you sleep with that all crap?

  • were do you get your servers I am on a limited amount of money and need some more servers

  • nice router

  • Powered by Cisco. The get all what i need

  • nice setup! great work, but what you need all that for??

  • i test a lot of new software on my ESX cluster.

  • Isnt that the gladiator theme tune?

  • yes it is. I remasters it to a longer version of it

  • get yourself an rack enclosure.. everything you have is rackmounted..

  • 90% of the noise will come from that cisco 5500.

  • indeed! hes better off with a netgear one.

  • Netgear sucks. I want cisco because it is the best what there is on this planet.

  • i disagree. cisco are overpriced and shit! Ive build entire networks around netgears and belkins and their right as rain, but ones with cisco always seem to be less reliable

  • i mean cisco is one of the worlds leading products. Belkin and netgear are for the home user. They didn't support helper adresses. Port span and other stuff. Netgear is cheap for home users.

  • @halogenetor i know this is late and random but...right as rain? can you explan that lol

  • @marco10125 LOL a year in the making that question was ..

Its a saying! Rain never fails does it?

  • @halogenetor you must not experience many droughts

  • @halogenetor You aren't seriously claiming that Belkin and Netgear are more reliable than Cisco, are you? That's the most absurd thing I've read all day. If Belkin and NetGear are giving you better performance or reliability than Cisco, you're doing it wrong.

  • @halogenetor You're kidding right? do you even know what you're talking about

  • Nice. Those old proliants never seem to die. No reason to go out and spend tons of money on new equipment when this stuff is readily available, and usually for free. Its not like this is going to be app hosting. Just storage, right?

  • what is this good for? just a bunch of old servers.

  • shitty servers are shitty, enjoy your 5000w/h light bill

  • Why hallo thar. Even though it hurts to disagree with my fellow anon, I'd have to say this server setup could be good for just a weekend project.

  • FREAK!!!

  • 5509, and Compaq generation one ML/DL series. A little old...

  • OMG, nerd-gasm.

    this is a beautiful setup.

the problem i run into is power...

what type of mains is this on?

like a 240-volt line for a washing machine?

  • wich os are u using??

  • Your neighbours can hear it? Wtf?

  • Um.... why?

  • everyone has hobbies.... some are a little... different.

  • WTF @ the media cluster....

    What if it fell =\

  • CALL GREEN DATACENTER MAN!!!

  • LOL! I never saw so many ancient Compaq servers in one place in my life! I thought I had the corner on the market with an ML-370 a DL-540 and a DL-740. daveoIso is right, you definately need a rack. I've got 2, a 14U and a 42U and it's the best (used) investment I've ever made. About $90 US and it makes it a lot easier to manage all the cables, power strips, etc.

  • you know about virtualization?

  • it's great... i reduce my energy cost!

  • Dude.. Please oh Please get a Rack for all this.. You will be much happier.. I got one for all mine for 75$. It's worth it.. Plus you can manager everything alot easier. Gots alot of equipment tho. Nice setup.

  • What no 650x-E ? Are you trying to be cheap?

  • "somewhere" = now i'm curious :)

actually, what do black boxes called "media cluster" do? you mean san?

  • That is sick. I love it. It would be great in a rack. How much is your electric bill?

  • You need to invest in a rack or 2
