Thats 1 leaving it wide open for any sort of artillery fire, and most likely this isnt just 1 base all alone in the middle of no where, they most likely have a number of bases in the area that work as lookout points for other bases in the area, and if you believe in God or not is your choice, im not getting in a religion arguement over that.

@lewisx20x20 to entice the enemy to attack and bring them out in the open. the outposts are fortified and can resist light rpg and machine gun fire. I believe there are bullet detection towers that track where the shot is coming from via it's sound, they take these cordinates at the outpost and call in artillery / CAS. That's my guess at least.

I guess it's easier to bring supplies when you're not on top of a mountain (meaning that you don't need to use helicopters all the time). It's also harder to breathe on higher ground. They put their outposts where they need them to be and the ground needs to be flat when you build an outpost.

@phone01294 It's the Kunar man. It's nothing BUT Valleys surrounded by ridges. It's nearly impossible to build COP and FOBs ontop those ridges. And when it is possible they do. The Pech/Korengal is a dangerous place. But our tactics are solid. They attack us from the ridges, so we call in CAS on their ass and get some air support.

The camera quality isn't great enough to actually see where the bullets are hitting - you can see outgoing fire but you can't see the rounds kicking up dirt. Taliban are camoflauged as well, there not going to be wearing white or some other bright color - so don't comment on what you don't know
