we've clipped the k12s before. we had music running through a mixer, with the knobs all the way up, mixer volumes about 75%, music, wireless mic, all at a rally in the school gym. the k12s clipped when the mic was really shouted into. the red limit lights on the back are hard to miss when they come on ;)
Thank you so much for this wonderful video!. I have been searching and searching and Now I set my mind on which speakers to buy. I sure will buy the QSC K-12 in few days and I'm so excited!. Thanks for sharing this awesome video with us! thumb up!
Recently bought 2 ksubs and 2 k12's your videos helped me to decide.
I am a a singer and I perform mainly with backing tracks.
I am slightly confused as to the best way to connect the signal. The store where I bought them say to connect the signal into the Ksub first then to the K12, but the instruction diagram shows the signal going into the K12 then out to the Ksub.
Are those switches heavy duty? When I try to regulate the HF and LF switch it always feels like its about to break. The two holes that holds the HF switch aren`t as visible as my other speaker. Not sure if this may be a manufacture or im just downright picky
@djstorm1987 Not sure if we'd consider them heavy duty. But they have a definite locking position for each selection. Our staff has used these for events easily over a hundred times and the switches have done well, never broken, and always worked.
Will I be able to connect these pair of speakers to a pair of JBL PRX515 speakers? Will I need some kind of extra hardware to run 4 speakers? I know nothing about speakers.
@DMXTVDallas The beauty about powered speakers is that since the amp modules are contained within the speakers themselves, you can connect as many as you want with XLR (microphone) cables. Thanks for watching!
@juah75 I;ve had the Eon's and let me tell you. They dont even come close to these. I bought the K-12's and I dont think I have ever heard 12" speakers sound like this. Believe me, u will never look back. GET THE K-12'S I got them for $720.00 each, and them come with a 6 year warranty. where else can u get that kind of deal. u wont regret it.
Ok Ty....is it really 1000 watts RMS? Most knowledgeable people are arguin is 1000 peak..please tell us what you know...either way I'm still interested in the K12s
@londonito Yes, that is an RMS rating. 500 watts on the high end and 500 watts on the low end. Granted, you'll probably rarely (if ever) approach those numbers. Let us know when you're ready to pick up a pair!
ANY OF THEM............... K12s are the reason JBL brought down the price of the PRX SERIES.... nothing touches them for sound to weight to price ratio...... NOTHING
@jamescaptainfarrell As far as i know u can't do that. The K12 and any self-powered speaker has an amp(s) dedicated for the speaker it self. Since u want to plug in another non-powered speaker u would need to link it up with an external amplifier. Hope i've been helpfull. Thank u.
Just just bought the K10s and they sound outstanding. If your venue is not too large they will be fine. They sound so clean. In the future I'll probably add a Sub... although I will probably do something different from the K SUB. The bandpass design doesn't allow for a punchy bass. I'll check out the QSC 15" or 18"
I was wondering, could anyone tell me if the "Deep Mode" provides enough bass on the k12 to be w/o a subwoofer. Im a mobile DJ and I want to upgrade my system (I currently have a pair of jbl jrx 125's) .
I noticed there is only a 8hz difference between the K10 and K12...is there any MAJOR discernible difference in sound quality between the two, or is it more of a matter of the horn directivity needed for your application? I intend to use a single K10 or K12 for solo acoustic gigs.
I'm guessing I can run the outs from my DJM 400 right into a couple of these right? I am looking for a system for my dj setup but don't wanna hassle with buying amps and speakers and additional stuff....I want a simple solution.
This is totally the way to go. Powered speakers provide so many benefits not only from a simplicity standpoint, but you can run a powered speaker virtually any distance you need to with long XLR cable runs, and if a speaker goes out, you've got the second one. If an amp goes out...you're done. This K-Series we feel is one of the best out there.
@Aldenif Have you looked up Boss or TC-helicon for vocal effects? Either of those is all you need to hook up to the powered speaker to get your vocal effects.

that XLR cable should be plugged into the B channel, you're going to blow the speaker

@shanekerchen Speakon connection is for a non-powered speaker. The Speakon connection is for using a power amplifier with a passive speaker.

these are great speakers, but I was very disappointed that for the high price they were made in China... but they're nice nevertheless.

Do you guys know if you can hook an unpowered monitor to one of the outs of the K12?
Sorry, I'm new to this PA stuff. I'm an acoustic guitarist using 2 mics, one for guitar, one for vocals into a mixer, into the QSC.

imagine 3 K12's per side and 3 ksubs perside....
