  • Born on my dad's birthday :P

  • worry about you safety. no sit belt on?

  • LOL! all the people were like "WHAT THE HELL! ITS WEIRD AL!"LoL

  • Usage of "slow" as an adverb has been increasingly accepted in recent years. "Slowly" is, of course, considered correct, but "slow" isn't technically wrong.

  • @KingOfKatamari Yes, it is.

  • I might say : I really like your way of humor :)

    P.S:

    Pozdrav s Balkana :)

  • you rule!

  • Al you magnificent bastard.

  • drive slow homie

  • You also need a colon after 'caution'.

  • Not stolen at all?

  • What ABOUT grammar, Weird Al?

  • Comma?

  • grammar

  • yes!

  • Weird Al is a superhero

  • I saw one of these corrections earlier that I didn't understand, but yeah, that's an important fix. Drive slow.

  • Got to love Al. LOL

  • I have a sign at my campground that says "Slow children playing".

  • @eltomato159 That's mean. They can't help it that they are slow.

  • 51 and still going strong :D His new album's mint.

  • People who claim not to like Weird Al are only jealous that he's better than they are.

  • he's a hero!

  • @tasteflavored That's funny you say that because I came on here to comment "This just set in stone another reason why Wierd Al is my hero." Right-o mate!! Thank you stumble now my friends on the bookface will see that I'm NOT the only grammar NAZI!!! ha-HA!!

  • gotta love the speed demon scooter blud

  • I think he'll do a better spell check job than Microsoft word.

  • Weird Al is the man!

  • ...weird al is a grammar nazi??

  • we have a hoose here in kanata eh,, can you come up hear to play yer toones? ill go

since im sober now........finally, i understand.

  • He must be on his way to see the biggest ball of twine in minnisota

  • lmao the sign makers said "well.... either sacrifice caution and make it "Drive Slowly" or make us look like idiots" the CEO responds "well thats nothing new so lets go with that!" because really.... what is being cautioned.... are there ducks? maybe cows? or is there a pot hole because if there was why not fill it and put a speed sign instead of a caution sign.... i cant really go slow if i dont know what the speed limit is >.>

  • EAT MY GOAT.

  • According to some sources, "slow" has become acceptable as an adverb when used to describe "drive" because it's easier on the highway district. I for one feel as though that's giving in to stupidity.

  • I read somewhere that "slow" can be used as an adverb. This was a rather reputable site, mind you, but I no longer trust it. "Drive slow" sounds too awkward to be correct.

  • Make "gooder" worlds? You sir need Weird Al Yankovic to correct you!

  • @greengreengreen123 I believe he was trying to be humourous.

  • @greengreengreen123 that was the joke

  • lol

  • WEIRD AL FOR PRESIDENT

  • WEIRD AL FOR PRESIDENT

  • Can't wait for his new album.

  • Seriously! We're not playing horseshoes here, people!

  • @spacezombie You're close, but no cigar.

  • xD

  • AWESOME!!!

  • Shouldn't that be "Seriously, People. Come on!"... I mean Seriously...

  • Then he'd need a comma, exclamation point , or a semi-colon after the "caution".

Or he could have just added an exclamation point after the "caution" without changing anything else

  • YEAAAAAH!

  • I wonder what's in Weird Al's glove compartment.

    ...

    ROAAAD MAPS!

  • being in the signage business, i find this unbearably funny

  • Al and his wife rock! Funny stuff Al! I never laughed so hard- I mean, so heartedly, I mean so heartily, no-so heart-feltedly... Damn! I never laughed so much in my life!

  • Looks like he is in Hawaii.

  • S'riously.

  • Instead of putting little paper things on signs and bitching about grammar he should spend some time learning why it says slow instead of slowly. He actually does a good job of explaining why without even knowing it.

  • @renedrivers Aw, but it's funny... and knowing him, it's probably why he does it.

  • 9 people failed grammar in high school

  • I'm seeing him tonight! I'm such nerd cause this will be my third time seeing him live at the OC fair. Nerd power!

Oh! And this is the first time I'm actually paying to see him live. Last two times it was free. Now it's a whopping $10! Damn!

  • I love his grammar police stuff!!

  • These are the files of the Grammar Police Squad. The cases are real, but the names of the road signs have been changed to protect their identities.

  • THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

  • He's right!

  • He looks fucking good for 50!

  • why isnt anyone wondering why the hell the cameraman is riding on the outside of the car filming lol, what is he holding onto the door?

  • @Breesoifoi Al is holding onto the camera with his right hand, and posting the sign with his left. There is no other cameraman.

  • finally

  • the first way is fine...what he wants present perfect rather than present,

  • Sooo much win!!! LOL

  • Why start a sentence with a postposition at all, in fact? Should be: Use caution and drive slowly.... but then the longer the roadsign the more dangerous it is to read. That sign is redundant in any case, at what point on a public road may you drive carelessly and quickly? Why aren't there signs which say: "Don't crash!" or "Look where you are going!"? The power of negative suggestion could cause accidents with these ridiculous signs, signmakers are trying to kill us. True Facts.

  • why did you steal his video from his channel?

  • This one is much better than the "15 items or fewer" one.

  • while ur at it, al. could u go to all the video stores and change the word "shrunk" to "shrank" in "honey, i shrunk the kids" and "honey, we shrunk ourselves"?

and also, put a "?" in "who framed roger rabbit".

i'm sure u'll discover lots more grammatical errors there. but start with these.

    thanks, al.

  • "drive slow" can be correct if what u mean is "drive in a slow manner"

just like "drive safe" (instead of "drive safely") means "drive in a safe manner".

  • @baddmanaz Thats how we understand it, doesn't mean it follows the actual rules of grammar.

  • Mr. Yankovic, I like the 'stache/beard

  • I think you need a colon after "Caution."

Would it be a colon? Or a semi-colon? I think colon.

  • thank you, Weird. And is that Mrs. Weird?

  • Weird Al is right.

In this context, the opposite of "slowly is not "fast". Adverbially, the opposite is "quickly" or "speedily". You people who are trying to sound intelligent by wrongfully correcting others are probably the same assholes who say "my friend and I" AFTER the subject, as one would do before it.

    Go haze yourselves.

  • How about Caustion: drive slowER

  • This man rules the universe.

  • you cant say "hes alive" to someone that is more well known than you

  • @GManPerfected You also can't say "hes alive". You need to use an apostrophe, as such:

    "he's alive"

  • weird al it's caution drive slower...because slow is relative...slower implies reduceing your speed to a comfortable level which could vary...so next time add an ER

  • @darkstone243 slower can mean reducing the speed by 1 km/h so if your speeding at 100 and you start to drive slower it's still hell fast. Slowly fits the best

  • @darkstone243 I have an idea. Shut up

  • @darkstone243 but 'slowly' is a general catagory relating to speed, it can be different speeds in different situations. In a sense, it means 'safely'. The word 'slower' implies a known previous speed (the one of a driver), a number which we don't have to use as a comparision - if we don't have two numbers to compare - a comparative structure is not the best choice.

  • AWESOME!!!! :-) :-) :-) :-)

  • lol :D hahaha

  • caution drive slowlier?

  • This is on his own page too, right?

  • Aaaaah, the incomplete sentence of those signs have been "driving" me crazy for decades! Aaaaaah!

  • Yes! That has been bugging me for decades!

  • English is my second language and I learned quite a bit about signs. The main goal of a sign to convey a message or an idea in a minimalistic way. Namely, signs must but as short as possible but still they must contain an understandable piece of information. The first thing I noticed in American airports is that all signs are missing articles: 'the', 'a', 'an'. Sometimes various forms of 'to be' are missing as well: 'bridge closed'. I think there maybe a set of specific rules on the sign matter

  • Haha, my sister and I did the same thing to a "PLEASE DRIVE SLOW" sign in our old neighborhood. Glorious fun.

  • Why is he so crazy (good way). Well he has serbian origin.

  • Why is he so crazy (good way). Well he has serbian origin.

  • He's gonna get busted for that one!

  • YEEESSS! Thank you, Weird Al!

  • he's still alive?

  • @kenns9 Very much so. In fact, he's touring this summer

  • @volvo1971 Indeed he is. He's coming to Oklahoma this July.

  • @volvo1971 i bought tickets to see it hes 50 yrs old

  • @kenns9 - Very much so. In fact, he's touring this summer - weirdal d o t c o m

  • @kenns9 why would he be dead? adam west is still alive

  • @Cowtipper4957 What! Adam West is still alive!? news to me...

  • @themrham1lin well he still is doing the voice of himself in Family Guy

  • @kenns9 He's only 50...

  • he's fighting the battle

  • Why no mark after "Caution"? Like "Caution, drive slowly" or "Caution; drive slowly" or even, "Caution! Drive slowly!"

  • Word.

  • @lyonlamb literally

  • @Sarielite - for readability at a distance -- punctuation could make adjacent letters look like other letters, or the punctuation itself might: "!" looks like "l" or "i", a "?" might look like an "S" or a "P", from a distance.

Also, when centering words on signs, logos, advertisments, no punctuation has better aesthetics.

  • @Sarielite I was thinking the same thing.

  • @Sarielite there is no mark because the sign is telling some guy named caution to drive slowly

  • @reploid123 If the sign was telling some guy named "Caution" to drive slowly, then there would be a comma after his name. :-P

  • @saxmaster45, that's not true: it's true of "fast" because there is no "fastly," but the adverbial form of "slow" is always "slowly."

  • @LaRocheFoucauld there's no "fastly" because you say "quickly" instead.

  • @LaRocheFoucauld Well, there is "quickly".

  • @LaRocheFoucauld No, actually. Slow is a "flat adverb" -- look it up!

  • @ecoomber Well, I'll be God-damned.... You are absolutely right! Thanks for giving me a handle to research.

  • Yeah, except he's wrong. Slow can be an adverb or an adjective.

  • Oh yeah! F n A...I'm mean............F N A!

Thnx 4 da xlent grma cracker lesson make uss talks betrs n stuff. Werd Al da man! Yeah! Much luv!

  • lewl

  • that looks like it's in hawaii

  • Probably is, Al has a house on Maui I believe.
