I have owned 23 of them, still have my 2 1984 Caravans and my 1985 Caravan with wood. I collected all I could on these Chrysler made minivans over the years. All brochures, models, all magazines that contain the articles, MW road tests, dealer promo items, pics, you name it, if it was on the Caravan or Voyager I have it. Took over 14 years to find it all. Where did you get this footage and can you send it to me? I would love to add this to my collection (a file). Thanks and thanks for sharing!
Ford and GM had the only rear wheel drive minis until they got stupid and killed the Aerostar and the Astro lines and went to car based front wheelers. I have 2 Aerostars - an extended 2WD 93 passenger and a standard length 96 cargo for my business. We had a 95 before the 93 that was nailed in the right side - the shell stayed in tact even with a 30 mph side impact dead on with a big Lincoln. Before that we had an 86 - 2.8L blew a head gasket and I didnt have time to repair so I sold it.
I know people that swear by the Chrysler/Plymouth vans - we had one for a month and sold it...other than the rear wings operated in front I liked nothing about the van, especially front wheel drive. My 96 Aerostar cargo even has a hitch and tows from time to time and in winter weather it never gets stuck - I pulled out a Grand Caravan last winter (might be the heavy load I carry helping though plus I have always driven rear wheel drive). Ford definitely f'd up in 97 when they killed the Aerostar
While I love the Aerostar, and its the only minivan I'd consdior (I've had three: two '94s and a '89), Ford had no choice but to discontinue the Aerostar due to new safety regulations in 1998, and the plant that built the Aerostar was able to be used to build the much more profitable Ford Explorer.

idk why people like crossovers compared to minivans. minivans are my favorite and i have a 1997 Chevrolet Venture and it is the best car out there!
