  • Great review, and great playing too

  • i'm considering buying one of these guitars. my question is, how does it feel? most importantly, how's the action on it? i have an esp ltd h-1001 six sring and i want to go to seven, but i want to get a guitar that feels as good as that guitar. do you think this would get the job done?

  • did it seriously used to be only 600 bucks?!

  • Agile is not pronounced like that lol

  • What is the neck like?

  • 7,8 and 9 STRING GUITARS*

  • @TheNeedled when this was recorded 8 strings were very hard to find. The Hellraiser C-8 was sold out within the first week of being released, even 8 strings on rondomusic were sold out. it wasn't until mid 2010 when they became widely available at retail stores.

  • Ummmmm, ummm, ummm? Ummm.

  • What would you prefer? Ebony or Maple fretboard?

  • ive got 2 Agile Septor Elite 627 and ive sold my other guitars....making an album in drop A and they handle like champs....FTW AGILE!!!!!!!!

  • Looks like Lietenant Dangle plays Agile,Im sold

  • not sure if you mentioned it, but was it a 27" scale?

Do you think it's hard to go from a 25" 6 string to a 27" 7 string with small hands?

I really want this guitar, but I'm afraid I wont be able to play it properly...

  • nice blues jingle

  • hey thanks for your video, i been interested in buying a Agile, but would there be much of a difference if i was to buy a fixed tail piece instead of the floyd rose, i never have or tried a floyd rose, so i dont now how much tension it has to give that heave punch, hope to hear from you and thanks

  • If you're used to a fixed tail and are happy with it, don't bother with the Floyd. In my opinion, a fixed bridge always sounds better and they are SO much easier to restring and change tunings with. Hope that helps.... Ty...

  • hey man awesome video! I've owned a john petrucci 7 string for a while now but i wanted another 7 string guitar that's not a signature model. I was looking at ibanez and jackson, but nothing really said wow to me. I went on agile's website and I saw how awesome these guitars are. Should I pull the trigger on one of these bad boys? and what's you experience with these things?

  • 2of2:

    and I love it!

I noticed its been two years since you bought the Agile,

And recently I've been thinking in the near future to buy my second 7-string guitar.

I was wondering what's your intake on the Agile guitars today? Is it still worth the buy? I've been searching for awhile and to find an affordable 7-string (i think around $500-$600 will be my limit), and it seems this would be the best bet. I'm not sure what do you think?

I'm sorry for the lengthy comment, thanks:)

  • 1of2:

I've been a 6-string guitars for over 6 years already, and for about the past 2 recent years, I've been wanting a 7-string, to generally play lower, without having to constantly down tune any of my other guitars and to have that extended range(well, one of my guitars is tuned to drop Ab so I can get that low, metallic sound I love) and I finally bought one! (Ibanez RG7321 7-String, this past June)

  • Thanks for the review! I'm trying to decide to get the guitar you got (I would be getting it in the 6 string form) or and ESP MH-350FR. I mainly play metal and love to solo and improvise so mainly play lead. I know this doesn't give you much to go off of but was just wondering if you could help me out figuring out which one to get. Thanks dude rock on!

  • how long did/does it take you to get used to the no inlays? thats my only concern. the no inlays look cool but i dont want it to be a problem.

  • hah, never. I never got used to it... I don't care what anyone tells you... Its just not cool not having them. I ended up putting inlays on the guitar myself, check out my videos on that.. :)

  • @GuitarGear1 ok then. thanks, and another thing i was wondering about. is the floyd rose really worth it? like when you break a string, how long would that take you to change it. because thats been a huge concern for me, whether to get a fixed bridge or a floyd. it looks like it would take a while to change a string.

  • I'm thinking about buying one, but I'm a little skeptical on the 27in scale with a Floyd cavity. Does it make it neck heavy or is it pretty evenly balanced?

  • The guitar is so light, it really stays pretty well balanced.. not nearly as bad as an SG or something like that...

  • Sweet sounds man. ...I might have to get me one of those bad boys.

  • PM me PLz :) ?

  • Where Can I buy this? is there a link to the online store???

  • @StEvilous21 rondo music.com

  • goood times!

  • So two years later...what's your take on these guitars now?

  • Yikes... two years... to be honest... I still have the guitar... though i very rarely play it... so... i guess whatever you want to draw from that... its fine... but, im not thrilled with it or anything... still a very good buy for the money.. for sure... hope that helps a little.. Ty...

  • @GuitarGear1 Have you used the Floyd much? If so, has it given you problems?

  • Comment removed

  • So...tuned to Drop A? Haha ;)

  • how would you compare this the the feel of an ESP LTD neck??? i have an MH-417 love the feel but i need a baritone scale.

  • schecter makes 7 and 8 string ....the cheapest 8 string is 300.00 but doesn't have active pickups. I play one at wanajam.com

  • Hi ! Where are Agile guitars made ? Thx

  • @Sniperkitten971. Korea I believe.

  • @ManofWar55 Thank you very much !

  • Hey yeah this is a rocking video. I like the tremelo picking you do, but i was going to get the Agile Interceptor 727 RN, great price btw, and ive been playing guitar (6 string) for a good year now and i was wondering if thats a good 7 string to start with and good for Deathcore type stuff?

  • Would playing in standard tuning harm the guitar in any way?

  • @The4Mechanix. Well you can't really play in six string standard with seven strings. The standard seven string tuning is B E A D G B E.

  • @ManofWar55 Yea that's what I meant thanks, that's great some of my friends had it to standard 7 string and their neck began to bend, probably cheap neck or old strings.

  • @The4Mechanix. Yeah it shouldn't have done that. But the bridge and neck were probably not set up for standard tuning...that's probably why it happened. Did the guitar have a tremolo?

  • @ManofWar55 Yea it did, I think it was the set up because I don't see that happening.

  • @The4Mechanix. Yeah that person probably had the guitar set up for a different tuning.

  • Schecter makes some sick 8 strings too and agile also makes 9's lol

  • can some one help me? I'm getting the agile 727 MN blue quilt top...and I'm hearing the term "baritone" a lot...wat is baritone ? Because I'm just looking for a good regular seven string

  • @ThEmSkillzZ1234 Sure dude. A baritone refers to the scale. The Agile 727 is a 27 in scale. So the distance from the bridge to the nut is 27 inches. Where as the Agile 725 has the 25.5 inch scale, which is what you see on most guitars. So basically the fret spacing is going to be larger with a 27in than a 25.5in, which is more of a standard scale. Hope this helps.

  • Can someone help me? Ima get an agile guitar in about a month.. And I hear the term "baritone" used a lot.I'm getting the agile pro 727 MN blue quilt guitar...I was wondering if anyone can tell me if this is a baritone? And wat is a baritone ? Cause I was just looking for a regular seven string

  • i bought an agile intrepid 8 string for 500...solid guitar. my buddy bought an ESP 8 for like1400. he tried my agile afterwards and likes it better. who wudda thunk

  • Hey, i heard that the laquer on the neck prevented you to do very acurat fast slides. Is that true?

  • did you buy this one custom?

  • could you please tell me if the neck is flat, type of ibanez thing? thank you.

  • I think Dean has the cheapest 7 string out there, go check musicians friend, BUT, yeah, for the specs, agile has the best, only wish it had an OFR, BUT, I suppose I could always switch it out whenever I buy my own in the years to come.

  • I've been considering getting a 7 string but I'm still kinda confused with the set up of them. I understand there's an added low B string but how does that tie in with the actual playing of the guitar? Any text/video responses would be appreciated!

  • got mine a week ago! the setup came whacked out set up to tight to tune to B standard but not a big deal. I set it up to Drop Ab and it is 100% dead fucking on in every aspect of intonation! Throw a noise suppressor in the chain to take advantage of the active EMGs and your fucking set! The 27inch allows for low low action with no buzz what so ever! Best guitar for the money ever!!!

  • cool review. can you play "Calm Like a Bomb" from RATM? I can't decide whether to get another 6-string or a 7-string. You know, to have one guitar on standard E tuning and another on Drop D, A#, C, or B Tuning.

  • whys everyone think that you cant tune 6 string guitars low to B and beyond? wow the strings get really loose, is that the end of the world? no cause then you go buy thicker strings duh

  • For the same reason athletes have cleats on their shoes, when you're not wiggling all over the place, you can perform at a higher level. 7 strings come standard with deeper slots in their nuts and tuning machines to accommodate heavier string gauges that SOME 6 strings CANT. The added scale length then takes care of the tension issues. Tuning your 6'r to F# might get you into 8 string territory, but you won't get that thwacky, high tension sound you get from extended range instruments. Ty...

  • @tydogg file down the nuts and tuning peg holes, put more springs in the back of your guitar, use your imagination. its what i do. i play 6 string in g# standard n its as tight as standard tuning for the reasons i stated.

  • alright I just got my interceptor yesterday and the strings buzz, especially the 7th string for some reason, Idk what to do about it because it's my first floyd rose and i was wondering if you could help me out!

  • on either side of the bridge they're two good sized allen headed screws. These will adjust your overall string height. Try raising (unscrewing) it up just a hair at a time. A little goes a long way with this, and of course make sure you're adjusting both the screws evenly... You're shooting for just high enough to stop buzzing while still being as low as possible. Sorry it took me so long to respond.. best wishes.. Ty...

  • hey dude I've read some reviews that Ernie Ball strings are not "long" enough to reach the tuning machines, is that true ??

  • Definitely not true. I use Ernie Ball .10's on both of my 7's. You'll still absolutely need to cut off several inches of string for the Agile. Ty...

  • @GuitarGear1 Cool dude thanks a lot !!

  • They're Korean made and have no monster name to pay for... No advertisement or endorsements either... probably pretty low operating expenses for these guys...

  • *love them fingers!*

Thats what she said.. ;) Thanks for watching! Ty....

  • And this is the most expensive guitar sold by rondomusic.

  • Definitely a helpful vid. I'm looking to get another 7 string (I have a dean vendetta with an aftermarket floyd rose single locking system on it. don't buy it- I've sunk $400 into it and it sounds like shit on clean.)

  • Nice review...How do you like the EMG 707s? Im about to custom order a custom agile and I cant decide on either the blackout 7 or the EMG 707. Any input?

  • If you watch some of my other stuff, you can definitely see I hate the 707's in particular. Still playing my Blackouts and happy with them. But, im a Duncan guy so.. Its all personal taste. I also have a set of Bareknuckle pickups in another 7 of mine... but, thats another price bracket.

  • @guitaristguy20 Hey man, Avid EMG fan. Check out the X series.. People say that they are really sterile clean, ot check out the 81-7, which is the 81 in a sevenstring. But its all personal opinion. I am sure you already have bought it already though. lol

  • was it setup well when you first got it?

    by the way nice vid

  • appreciate the compliment... ah, it was certainly playable. In this video for example, the guitar was just out of the box and I popped the low B to A and that was it.

  • "Welcome to Guitar Hero 1"

WTF man, those games suck! xD

  • rondomusic . com

is this site real? is it cool? somebody..

  • @hshugos1 yes its real dont worry. great customer service. i got a bass off it, some of the knobs were "iffy" looking, and the owner Kurt, responded to my email regarding it almost instantly, and sent me new knobs right away. go for it, dont worry about its simple appearance.

  • @mordecai52005 cool . thanks man, like i want to buy a 7string guitar for a long time, and i saw thoose prices and i was surprized about that, and the aspect of the web site was doubtfull, thanks a lot ;)

  • is this site real? is it cool? somebody..

  • hey dudee sweet vid man. Ive been thinking real heaps about getting one of these, ive never had a seven string and with that scale and radius of the neck i dont know :S how does it feel? is it noticeably different to like schecters and stuff? if you could help me out it would be much appreciated, thanks \m/

  • Extra thicker, that's B2

  • Comment removed

  • does a 7 string add an extra thicker string or a thinner string?

  • Hey, how is the LFR that Agile uses? I was looking at getting either this in the Natural Satin, the Septor Pro 727 or the Septor Elite 725, both in the Tribal Purple. I was leaning for the natural, but I wasn't sure what the LFR quality was as I know you can get decent Licensed Floyds and really, really bad LFRs. So what's your opinion?

  • How is the LFR?

  • would a 27" scale guitar feel too tight if tuned standard? (BEADGBE)

  • @BrothersCinco Ehhh, I have an Interceptor 727 Elite... it's not really that much tighter. Once you set it up right they play pretty good. You may want to keep in mind that the neck is a little thicker than most 7 strings... kinda more D shaped. But it's still definitely comfortable to play in my opinion.

  • Comment removed

  • holy crapass, i've been looking into 7-strings, and i think this just might be it; Thanks!

  • Schecter has a couple of 8-string models, the omen and hellraiser....i believe

  • What do you thing about Schecters? The hellraiser c-1 fr 7 string? What do you love or hate about them.

  • the song youre working on does remind me of tosin abasi's playing.lol (no prob)

  • schecter make 8 strings \m/

  • video was made on my bday... epics

  • So strings still get floppy when you downtune on a 27'' 6 string?

  • They will if you use a string gauge for regularly tuned 6 strings. Having the seven is just easier because the bridge, neck, nut, and tuning machines are geared for the heavier gauges. Buddy of mine bought a 6 string baritone and had to file the nut and tuning machine string posts because he couldn't get heavy strings through them.. Thanks for watching.. Ty...

  • Comment removed

  • i am thinking of going from a six string to an 8 string guitar

  • Typically a standard scale length seven string is going to be 25.5"... a baritone is generally 27"...but for example, Jeff Loomis' signature model is 26.5"... so... call that what you will... the longer scale keeps more tension on strings that may be slack during lower tunings... Ty... (no stupid questions here)

  • that song you are working on reminds me of Animals As Leaders.. Hahaha

  • The more you want to compare me to Tosin, the better my day is going to be... ;)

  • hi mate! I loved the review and this brand seems to have a good quality/price, and beats guitars of known brands which costos double. I like another brand which is Michael Kelly, if you dont know it google-it. They sell guitars with set-thru and ORIGINAL floyd rose for 400-500 bucks

  • Dude thats fret buzz you're getting. It IS undesirable and it does NOT sound better. Needs to be adjusted asap.

  • "Top-Nazi"!! LOL No soup for you!

  • boobs

  • Hey man how's it going. I like your review, I am actually contemplating buying this, a Jackson SLAT3-7 or an Esp Ltd MH 417. I played none of these but really like 7s because I tried a 500$ ibanez. I have played an LTD Kirk hammet, AX and MH and a couple of Soloists and Rhoads. I am mostly influenced by technical death metal bands like decrepit birth and quo vadis. Would you recommend this as a first 7 string?

  • you're in Drop A, learn some Whitechapel :D

  • "top-Nazi" lmfao. Sweet dude, good review and sick guitar. Can't wait til I get one. I'm gonna go with string through and maple board though. Thanks for the review!

  • Hope you like your axe man... was just ripping mine in the basement while you were leaving this comment. All the best.. Ty...

  • what's the tautness like on the treble strings with the 27"? I play a 25.5 7 right now but my one absolute source of musical hatred with guitars is overly taught treble strings

  • Your a very good reviewer dude, you should see about being an endorser ! \m/

  • after talking with Keith Merrow about that, sounds like Agile will never be endorsing anyone... Thanks for such a supportive comment though... cheers to the future? Ty...

  • @GuitarGear1 Ah that's too bad dude, o well, keep up the good work :) \m/

  • @GuitarGear1 well they should at least put you up on there website as a artist

  • Comment removed

  • schecter also make 7/8 strings

  • hah... weird man.. never heard of those guys... i google imaged the guy... its the hair color and pointy face profile.. cool shit... thanks for stopping by the page.. Ty...

  • finally got mine man!! i have the "unboxing" vid up now and i plan on doing the review/ demo soon!!

  • That first blues riff you play can you do a lesson on it it sounds amazing

  • Let me know if you're getting serious... i think im going to be selling mine...

  • why are you selling it?

  • Well I just bought a handmade 7 string and am putting Bareknuckle Warpig pickups in it... Something tells me the Agile is about to get left in the dust... and I hate the lack of fretwire on the Agile... If I keep it, it'll just be to have a 2nd 7 string on hand... Ty...

  • ive heard mixed reviews about bareknuckle pickups, but they seem purdy good. what makes you think that agile is on their way out, just curious?

  • My Agile is on its way out, not the company... and again, its not a bad guitar, especially for the money... but im starting to think a cheap ibanez 7 might be a better back up...

  • oh, i see. they do seem like really good guitars for the money. ive had 3 decent to "eh" ibanez guitars and ive never really liked them. in my opinion, if youre gonna get an ibanez you should get a prestige. for the price and features that the agile has i would keep that instead, but thats just me. thanks for replying to my comments.

  • I recommend buying the guitar you enjoy playing the most... I met a guy a couple weeks ago with a Washburn 7 string he paid a hundred dollars for that he loves and plays more than a guitar he paid 2600 for... no bull... be true to yourself man... hah, and if you really want an Agile... buy mine... I think im gonna sell it. I'll be putting up videos on Guitar Gear 1 of my new 7 string when I get it Monday!

  • DUUUUUDE!! i placed my order for the natural satin finish interceptor yesterday and it should arrive within the week!! im so freaking stoked man, and i will post a review of it when i receive mine and ill make it a response to this one, aight!? now i can truly join the Agile Interceptor Crue... AIC?? (Alice In Chains) hahaha, after the year ive been watching all the interceptor pro vids i could find and looking at the website non stop im finally gettin one!

  • Agile makes gorgeous guitars. I really want the neck-thru version but with the money I have now, I can probably only get the bolt-on version which has no active pickups.

  • pretty nice man......start a band seriously ^^

  • dont worry everybody. these guitars are actually legit good. the reason they are cheap is mainly the big labor and the flame/quilted/etc. tops are b grade insted of A,AA,AAA,AAAA (you only really see AAAA on custom shop guitars and framus guitars)

  • I should be getting the stop tail version of this next week or the week after next. Cool to see this company getting some rep.

Are you a member of the Agile guitar forum?

  • Cool whhhh-ip.... (family guy)

  • start a band man!!!

  • In the process now... excited and humbled... thanks for watching.. Ty...

  • For that price i might just check out this company to see if they have any standard guitars for sale

  • @AnathemusVideos they totally do man, and i dont plan on buying any other brand after seeing some of the guitars they have up on their site!!!

  • Is it the one for $345.00 ?

  • i think you have officially turned me on to 7 strings

i was thinking of getting the Agile Interceptor Pro 725 cause the baritone scares me a little bit lol

    great review!!!

  • werent those the days, when agiles were cheaper? haha, now theyre all the way up to $689.99. oh well, that's still a way good price!!

  • Schecter also makes 8 string guitars.

  • i think ima get an agile shirt too dude, hahaha. i love these guitars that much! if i could afford to fly to wisconsin id say we should jam, but im nowhere near as good as you so maybe in a whlie. you know, once im better/ have some practice on my sven, maybe ill name it that too, haha.

  • i got a question if i wanted to play this guitar and a song was in drop b would i have tune the guitar differnt or just standard seven string tuning.....

  • A 7 string is tuned to B standard... So you'd lose one finger power chords and everything you're familiar with with dropped tunings. Dropped is always in reference to the lowest string being tuned a full step lower than its relative standard tuning... So if a guitar was tuned E, A, D, G, B, E (standard tuning) dropped D would mean the lowest string (E) would be dropped to D. Dropped B would be two full steps lower. Thanks for watching, hope that makes as much sense as it could be confusing. Ty..

  • oh ok beacuse i was thinking that the guitar was already in drop b that i woudnt have to tune it down like on a six string that realy sucks for me beacuse i realy wanted this guitar but from what your telling me its pretty much like a six when downtuning.but are there some better things when drop tuning on a seven string.

  • Dang dude! Just a little camera? That's freakin legit, I have a Sony handicam from a few years back and the quality is nice up until I wanna load it onto YouTube where it is compressed and looks like crap. Your vids are so crisp man! Hahaha, but thanks for the reply. Would you happen to have a facebook or something so we can chat on there? I added Keith and mike, so you would complete the triad of Agile-osity.

  • I LOVE AGILE GUITARS!!!! so ty, ive been watching your vids for a long time now... well, yours, mikezilla's, and keith's. like literally... looong time. almost like porn, but 8 million times better and more fulfilling! hahaha, checkin out the rondomusic site and watching these interceptor vids for almost a year i think, and guess what!?!? im finally gonna be able to buy one at the end of may!!!!! Natural finish 27" scale, when i get it ill do a review and post it as a response to this! PEACE!!!

  • this is pretty easily the nicest thing I've heard since I can remember... thank you so much... Hope your guitars everything you want it to be... all the best.. Ty...

  • @GuitarGear1 for sure man, you rule and you seem like a totally chill guy... therefore meaning i will be nice to you, thus concluding my hypothesis of... ummm something...

  • How often do you play palm mute the open B(i mean A) when you play riffs? When I try to do it, it sounds muddy and flappy

  • hey man, im wondering how you get such good quality videos. like even when i use my video camera and edit stuff in iMovie and upload it it looks like crap. while it's in the program it looks pretty good though.

  • just a Canon Powershot SD950... straight up...

  • dude i have a question. is the flyd original? i mean does the brand name floyd rose apear on the side of the floyd or does it say licensed floyd rose and the brand is agile?

  • Kurt from agile is the man...he has put great guitars in the hands of people who desired a great instrument with a great price tag.....i have used them for years....

    AGILE

  • So you definitely recommend buying one? I'm thinking about the 8-string one.

  • Where are Agile guitars made?

  • Korea

  • this looks like the sex.

  • schecter makes em too. same with 8 strings.

  • holy shit, that is a freaking nice looking guitar and the cost i dont know what would be in Australian currancy, but it shouldnt be all that much more, i wonder if they can be shipped to aus.

  • im saving for an agile hornet 727 pro with floyd rose, gonna be friken awesome should have the $600 in like 9 months, coming by money as a 14 year old is hard.

  • @oorah6991 dude... i know what you feel!!!! i am 14 too and money is fucking impossible!!!!!! sucks balls

  • dude i would all the models by that time will be gone but dont woryr cause their putting new models up in september

  • @oorah6991 i feel your pain man, im in the same situation.
