  • I thought it refered to Alexander the great's horse Bucephalus .

  • I haven't heard that definition... where'd you read that?

  • It's a biological descriptor most used to describe certain parasites. search for "bucephalus parasite" or "bucephalid morphology". I can't seem to find anything that specifically says "bucephalus" refers to having only one mouth, but as I understand, it is the case with all "bucephalus" trematodes... I just remember thinking of the green ball with a mouth on the cover of "hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy".

  • @Znatnhos Bucephalus is also the name of Alexander the Great's horse... a massive horse that only Alexander himself could tame. Don't know if there's any connection at all, cause everybody knows that Richard finds coming up with names a boring thing... so he makes up stuff sometimes out of the blue.

  • @Znatnhos Where did you get that source of information?

  • @Spiralogy wouldn't you know it I can't find it now, but the latin root, cephalous, refers to a head. I can't find any reference to BUcephalous outside bucephalous alexandria which is a city named for, of course, the horse. But polycephalous describes something having more than one head. I am also unable to confirm the legitimacy of the word unicephalous, which would be the natural candidate to mean having one head. The only close reference is to a parasitic nematode. And I'm out of charact

  • @Znatnhos Nope bucephalus means Ox-headed

  • @syntaxdrumandbass1 see now I seem like an ass cause I can't back up my original statement. When I look at it, your explanation makes more sense than mine does... I retract my original statement! can you provide a source for your info?? I just wanna get to the bottom of this now...

  • @syntaxdrumandbass1 my definition is an Orpheus that consumes and regurgitates from the same source.....we probably have different sources...but hell ill take either def cuz either one tickles my fancy.....cough imagination cough......

  • @Znatnhos it is also the name of a horse.

  • @Znatnhos

I think its a dead horse.

  • @Znatnhos bucephalus is alexander's horse... and from a etymological point of view, bucephalus is the combination of buce ~ mouth and phalus=cock ...so no shithole in "bucephalus"...can't realize where you might have gotten that idea .

  • @BmGeoBm Sorry to disarm your horse-sex fantasies, but Bucephalus is from Greek for Bous (Ox or Oxen) and Kephale (Head).

I'll give you credit for trying...

(The name of Alexander the Great's Horse, also...)

  • @BurnDuri yes...alexander's horse was name Bucephalus....google the name's provenience( there are more than one theories, including my own)

  • This was on Vic Reeves' Desert Island Discs!

  • Love this song. This and "Come to daddy" brought me to Aphex and his Music. Druqks is still the best Album in my opinion.

  • druqks and all the analords, i would have to say

  • @antiego1 agreed :)

  • 4:22 awesome

  • shit, haven't heard that in years... still fucking rips! you can see from this why aphex spawned so many imitators, his stuff was amazing back then!

  • Back then? His shit's STILL fucking incredible.

  • gr8 trackshit clip

  • love the change of rhythm on 1:32

  • me penis just moved a little bit>)

  • i was liked 5:35 hehe

  • 2:18 raaaaaaaagh its so great i could listen to it forever...

  • This is one of the first songs that made me like Aphex and IDM in general. I listened to it, driving back from SF where I bought the single EP "Come To Daddy" at Ameoba music and at first thought - "this is nonsense", but then I began to realize that it was actually highly complex organization like jazz or classical music. It still sounds just as great today!

  • Luv it ^^

  • I always liked the single kick that has reverb, later in the song

dah, dah, dah, dah......DAHN, dah dah dah.....

  • This tune is TrIpPy as fuck man . . .

  • i used to piss my room mates off at night with this song

  • lol

  • crazy choon this, 1st time i herad it b4, its gooooood

  • Check out an experimental video I did with this song on my page!

  • Very cool. Could be my favorite track by Aphex Twin. Very Autechre-like, I think.

  • I would say Autechre is very Aphex like.... ;)

  • even tho they are completely different, the only similarity is they are on warp

  • Completely different as in? They both do "weird" tracks, they both use lots of snare rushes, broken beats and what not. Both seem to be influenced by classical music, they both use different kinds of synthesizers, especially old ones. So, I guess if you were comparing Garth Brooks to Aphex you could say they are completely different, but not Autechre and Aphex...

  • stoooneed

  • in fact,

    this is THE song

  • this is such a great song...
