  • lol its sounds like farting

  • lol

  • how strong are these things?

  • not very strong

  • everything in the video farts

    chairs

    engine

    the guys voice

  • lmao

  • rofl xDD

  • Haha XD

  • so wut the hell does this thing do ??

  • it queafed..lols

  • lol!!!

  • lol it farts

  • 0:38 FART :P

  • Comment removed

  • haha it farts

  • woah nice one, how much Torque does this thing have cuz you could use it to make electricity :D

  • .00000001 lbs of torque

  • this is awesome

where could i buy one and for how much?

  • me $20,000

  • cute ,,i want one

  • very shiny compared to most motors

  • Very nice model; makes neat fart sounds when it starts and stops, too!

  • This is amazing. Imagine what a bigger one could power? It still runs on fuel though. :(

  • haha that's pretty cool :)

  • amazing

  • As long as you have enough fuel (aka: heat/ energy) you can get damn near anything to move in one way or another*....the question is: How Efficient Is It?....(*in the same way that if you put enough voltage on a monkey's balls you can get him to sing Opera)

  • I don't know, as I sit here in Ky with practically everyone out of power, I'm thinking on a larger scale this thing could be used to heat a home, it burns fuel and the mechanical could be used to spread the heat. I think it's neat.

  • A sterling enjine is simular, these can use solar heat energy as well.

  • really?? 0_o how? sorry for my ignorance but this is the first time i see this kind of engine

  • very good.. but as far as I see that is the topspeed.. so it won't be able to accelerate further and therefor not a good thing for high speeds... but for getting someone from a to b it would probably work well...

  • kind of reminds me of a styrling engine...howe exacly does it work, because i don't fully ge tit....

  • u that engine will have enough power to spin a dynamo from the wheel ????

  • how much power

  • looks like a sterling engine to me

  • is this anything like those atmospheric or vacuum engines?

  • This version was actually designed by cowboys to run on beans, notice the farts at :40

  • really interisting

  • That's an interesting concept. Looks similar to a sterling but this thing actually sucks a flame into the cylinder?

  • where from Flame Sucker

  • how does it work??? is it a sterling engine?

  • watch?v=7p_1QO1iG9M

  • i want one so bad

  • is this the same as Stirling Cycle engine???

  • lol it farts when it slows. Cool engine Got any plans for it?

  • im machining all the parts for one of these in my cnc class. did u make urs?

  • i never get tired of these things

  • sweeeet

  • Thats amazing, but!, magnets are the future XD

  • hey where can i get one i really want one please can you help me

  • google 'Stirling Engine'

  • not really. Stirling cycle engines are sealed and work on temp/pressure differentials from one side to the other.

  • Right you are. My bad :(

  • nice work but i wonder, what for that machine?

  • possibly a grinder...

  • awesome fart machine!

  • lol id say :39 good one

  • nice it looks steam punk

  • aaah i want a car with that sound lmao .)

    well its to weak

  • how does it work?

  • nice, im making one of these this semester

  • it farts LOL

  • 5/5 haha 100th rating yay but this is pretty sweet tho

  • good idea for an engine. especially these huge gas prices. 5/5

  • yeah definitely, because if you used this engine for a car. you'd have to use the same amount of gas as the engines now use. since it will be pushing lets say 1500-2000 pounds lol..

  • To bad an engine like this has like 2.3 mousepower. It might get you to work in about a day or so.

  • yeah, that sounds about right lmao

  • Hey, all you have to do is leave for work before you get home for dinner!

  • so the flame burning is providing the pressure?! I don't see how that flame is big enough for that; wierd...

  • With the inlet valve open, and the piston going down, hot gases from the flame get sucked into the engine.

At the bottom of the stroke the valve closes, and the hot gases cool rapidly and SHRINK: this SUCKS the piston up into the bore.

Then with the piston say halfway up into the bore, the valve opens again (now becoming an exhaust valve) and the cooled gases are expelled.

Then after top dead center and with the valve still open, a fresh batch of hot gas is drawn into the engine.

  • I LOVE that flame sucker fart maker machine!

  • lol,it farted at the end.

  • This is some kind of Stirling engine i think.

  • nice ! :D looks cool ! :)

  • Ok now what Im going to do is buiid one of those, use it to run a generator so I can run an electric heater. Oh wait why dont I just....

  • You sound like Mr. Rogers:)

  • Lol did it fart in the start?

    Or was it you..?

  • Nice, how effecient is it at turning heat into energy.

  • very nice

  • People assume the flame supplies the energy for this machine to move, but it is actually a simple vaccum engine. It works with air and lack of.

  • haha i wish my cars engine would fart every time i started it. it would give me a good laught every morning. hahah

  • Whats the efficiency like compared to a stirling, steam or internal combustion???

  • good going m8

  • lol u farted but nice engine! ;

  • Im still lost as to how it gets power... but ill keep searching for info.

  • I think im right on this, but dont quote me ;).

at the beginning of the cycle the small door into the cylinder is open, allowing heat from the flame to be sucked in to the vacuum. this hot air expands in the cylinder as the door closes and pushes the piston forward. the air in the chamber then cools and contracts. the door is then opened again and more hot air is drawn into the cylinder, continuing the cycle.

  • wtf?!! 0:38-0:39 did you fart??

  • Must have low torque due to the need for the the huge flywheel. Nice engine by the way.

  • Don't know for sure but it looks like it's made out of aluminum, might account for the size of the flywheel.

  • cool

  • it is not. The stirling engine has a closed system of air. This one simply breaths the flame exaust and cools it.

  • na jakiej podstawie to dziala?;]

  • Now .... if I only had a workshop I could build one..... heavy sigh....

It would be interesting if you could measure its power output ..... that is if it could actually stay running under any kind of load.

    ?

  • Mark,

Great videos. I made Philip's Lil" blazer a couple years ago. Its fun to watch people's reaction to the engine. I am anxious to see more of your videos. I have subscribed to your area.

    Thanks again for the videos!

  • How many FPM's or Farts Per Minutes does this baby run?

  • listin carfully at 0.38 IT FARTS!!!! ROFLMAO!!!!!!!

  • could you talk a bit slower? im having trouble following

  • does anyone know where i can purchase one from? i donot have the tools to machine one.

  • Lol, sounds like it farted at the start.

  • OMG!!!! HAHAHA XD XD I HAVE LAUGHED ABOUT 8 mins hahah rofl

  • lol

  • its amazing how somthing like that works

  • looks alot like a sterling engine

  • what's it meant to do?

  • The whole thing is made out of aluminium with the exception of the pistion which can either be brass, cast or steel.

The fly wheel could be made out of steel but you would have to half the outer rims width and thickness.

I recently bought the book "Shop wisdom of Phillip Duclose" which has the plan for this engine in it, I am in the process of making this exact engine at the moment.

  • leet

  • how much does one of these thing cost... like to have one of these flame sucker

  • Or.... you just just use a lighter.

  • It would be external.

Look where the flame is :)

  • Interesting.

  • wow thats damn cool. stainless construction?

  • im with mjerew 70-80k it would sound like a dremel

  • Must be the type between.

  • Is it an External combustion engine, an internal combustion or some where in between??

  • 1500-2000 rpm at best

  • thats really cool! adding to favorites. i dont have the means(skill) to build one, but very neat none the less.

  • neat but useless, right?

  • how many rpms does the fly wheel turn?

  • approximately 80,000 Rpms

  • no way thats turning 80,000 rpms

  • sorry, I exaggerated, maybe 70,000 Rpms

  • fascinating!

  • Nice work! I've built a few Stirlings, but haven't made one of these yet. Inspiring!

  • v,

thanks for the comments. are your engines posted?

    i'd love to see them.

  • First time i've seen one of these, very neat!

  • i have never seen one of these. truly awesome.

  • I guess it sucks in hot air wich cools rapidly by the aluminium cylinder and creates a vacuum

so it actually works by vacuum instead og pressure as in a normal combustion engine

  • G,

you nailed it. couldnt have said it any better myself.

some call it a vacuum atmospheric engine but i like flame sucker better.

  • As a Tool Maker, that is sweet, I would like planes to make one if possible.

  • austinsam,

the plans for this are in "The Shop Wisdom of Philip Duclos" from village press. its available on amazon im pretty sure

  • how does that work!
