Your voice was off, but I really think it's fixable. You need to go down, and usually people have more trouble going up than down. I'm almost 100% sure you can drop your voice down to meet Lightnin Hopkins'.
play with the timing, you seem really in time and its kind of creeping me out. just make the beat faster and don't make your slides absolutely perfect, get some soul into it bro!!
It's technically really tight and you've got a good voice.... but there's not much emotion in this rendition. Now that you've got it down... put something more of your own soul and emotion into it.
1st I heard this was Van Morrison (flip side of Gloria). There's lots of good versions, but history makes me like his best.
