To be honest I think that Idina Menzel was so much better. Eden Espinosa took over for Idina in Wicked and in Rent. The original is by far much better. Idina bring Maureen to life so well.

I'll always love idina, don't get me wrong, she's brilliant, BUT she has a more pop singer qwerk/style to her voice which I sometimes find myself disliking. I want a woman with a fullness to her voice, and eden really brings that. I hate to say it as I'll probably get slated by hundreds of people but eden really is more vocally and dramatically more talented.

I don't think amazing says it. Having seen here in both Wicked and Rent, the girls got a voice that could shatter glass. Its amazing, her vocal range. I love Idina too but they are very different in their styles but its a good different.

i don't agree, because the thing that people always do, is compare the actresses that have played maureen. instead, you can look at their individual interpretations of the character. for example, idina menzel and eden espinosa both have an entirely different take on the character of maureen. i prefer idina, but i don't compare them to each other, because they are just too different. they are both amazing!
