You'll fall into the room below, almost like in Ocarina of Time. The main difference is that the game treats it as a separate room, so you'll have to climb back up the pyramid and start the battle over if it happens.

this fight with ganon frustrates me. the whole idea behind it is very easy but a link to the past is so freaking random. when you're supposed to hit him, there's so many times where the blade doesn't do anything. it's almost as if you're too far away but the game is too dumb to realize the blade is actually going through him.

Can you prove it is real time? Since emulator video's can be "edited". I know this from reading stuff at Bisqwit's TAS site.

Without setting up a camera and recording myself playing and doing the same stuff, rather than just video capturing from the emulator, no, there's no way to prove that it was played in real time.

Anyone who's good at LttP should be able to use the same tricks as in the video to do a no damage fight against Ganon and verify that it's at least possible to do it in real time, though.

Don't try this deliberately, but as it turns out, if you fall into the pit that Ganon creates after he's been "destroyed," he comes back for another round... it appears the only way to truly destroy Ganon is to use the Triforce's power... all Link can do is weaken him!

Huh? The aspect ratio is the same for all of my LttP videos. YouTube stretches it out a little by default but if you resize it to the actual resolution and then back up again it won't stretch it.

And thanks, I was really happy that I managed to get the timing just right on the same recording I ended up posting. That's really hard to pull off because all you have to judge by is Ganon's explosions.

Er, I'm still not sure what you mean. I didn't do anything different for this video in the recording or encoding process and it looks the same to me as my other videos.

You can fix that by clicking the button to the right of the volume control twice. Like I said, YouTube stretches some videos out by default but you can always do that to restore the original aspect ratio.

Now that I look, I guess it doesn't stretch the Ganon video here. Maybe because it doesn't scroll horizontally at all.

I've thought about doing it again on an emulator so I could make a recording. The only problem is that playing through the game with minimal hearts and equipment is really hard even for me, so I haven't really been up for doing that again, heh. Though I suppose it would be easier using save states.

ps: i also tried this fight with no armor and no shield and level 2 sword and its hard as hell but i did it...well almost, for some weird reason the bomb that helps you get the silver arrow just doesnt appear if you dont have a level 3 sword. so i beat the whole fight with worst possible equipment but i couldnt beat him cause i didnt have the sliver arrow. but the hard thing about it its cause he does the thing with the fire bats like 10 times and it gets harder and hardet to dodge.

I did that as well, only on the GBA version where you don't need the level 3 sword to get the super bomb. I had the green tunic, level 2 sword, no shield, and the minimal amount of hearts and equipment needed to beat the game without using glitches.

I finally managed to beat him that way after about fifty tries. (And when I finally did it, I did it without getting hit at all! I wish I'd been able to record the fight but it was on a real GBA.) It was one of the hardest fights I've ever beaten.

Well you could use the invisibility cape to become invulnerable to his attacks so you could do a large amount of damage, but ther is only two problems

1 if your unlucky he might teleport around the room like 50 times tottaly ruining any attempt at a speed kill.

2 i think its impossible,you can get through most of the fight in a minute but the last part of the fight with the silver arrow takes like 20 seconds or so. but my best time is like 1 minute 20 or 30 seconds or something like that.

That's true, I do use it when I'm going kamikaze on him and not caring much about getting hit.

I've never tried a speed kill on Ganon but beating him in a minute or less does sound like it would be impossible just because of the sheer number of hits you have to land with your sword, then the time it takes from him to knock the outer tiles out, etc. I wonder what the best tool-assisted time is.

i know a trick for doing double damage on gannon. go up to him and stand behind him so that your right between him and the wall and do a spin attack, you wont be able to be knocked back from the impact so you'll stay there and do two spin attacks for the price of one!

Yeah, I use that trick occasionally as well, but it's dangerous. It's only very useful when he's about to form the fiery bats around his trident, and you don't have much time to do it before they hit you.
