The Soft Cell original Tainted Love is probably one of my favorite songs in all of history. Other artists have tried to cover it, and have utterly failed. The covers all sound like carbon copies, or like something out of a strip club.

What I love about Rihnna's SOS is that it uses the same story and melody as Tainted Love, but does so with a fresh perspective. It revitalizes the old song while protecting it's integrity, and it has an artistic perspective all her own.
