Yep, exactly where I got hit, coming off the ramp and there is no speed limit sign
( which is 40). I fought it, and even flmed the fact that the sign was behind the off ramp but lost the case. The cop made the comment on his ticket that I was "very polite" which was astounding. But in the end I ended up "politely" giving Plano $120 bucks. I have moved to a more "polite" area in the country where the cops are cool. Plano is a speed trap-cops are revenuers, not cops.
Yes is still is there and Plano would not mind if a tornado came by and leveled that place. The people there are so bad that they had to put a high fence in the middle of the freeway because the idiot trailer residents would cross the freeway. One of them got killed once, so they put up the fence. Plus I had a guy in a car drop off someone once and pull right out in front of me in the left lane at 10mph while I was going 65mph. I that may have been the same day as the video, going back home.

@MrTexascop yes it is,now it looks better because gang bangers just moved out last week to new york city,i know because my cousin told me and he was their nieghbor
Its so simple. If you are doing the speed limit, or at least close to it, you have nothing to fear from speed enforcement. However, if you are a whiner who drives way over the limit, then you deserve to be stung. Obey the laws of the land and your worries will disappear. Dont obey them and just keep paying those voluntary taxes to your local government.
Many people don't realize that the stings from bridges and highways are funded with federal dollars. All the additional officers involved are paid from the overtime budget so it does not take them from other city duties.
What better way then to fix a budge problem then to run radar and give out speeding tickets. They even make more when it is in a school zone or construction zone.
I also know where this location is, however what those who don't know the location need to understand is it run right along the freeway. So yes, it's too easy to go a little faster than the posted speed limit. I don't like to get a ticket anymore that anyone else they are too darn expensive, last one cost me 109.00 for going 11 miles over the speed limit, back in maybe 1999. I drive much slower now and I'm looking out for that radar gun. too easy to say go the speed limit.
Why don't you just buy a radar/laser detector? They're legal in every state except for VA, DC, and parts of MD I believe and the cops can't say shit about it because you're not breaking the law if the state allows you to own and operate one. So long as you're not actively jamming their signals, which is a federal FCC violation, you're not breaking any laws.
I don't disrespect the Plano Police who are simply following orders, so keep that in mind. I have a good job, live in Plano, and pay my share in taxes. I have no problem with that. In one year I have twice been a victim of one of Plano's revenue collection drive. The very popular radar trap. Both citations were issued like they were conducting a mandatory fund raiser with a parade of cops handing out tickets as if to pay for a keg party. Let us pay in cash and don't even bother with the BS.
I agree with MeinTX. Here in maryland sometimes when they shoot radar they walk clear out on to the highway sometimes in the middle lane to point you over. good way to get killed. If i was that cop i'd stay in my car and get behind them.
I agree, it is not a safe way to issue traffic tickets. I have also seen them do this at other intersections as well. I just happen to see them there and had my in-car video rolling that day. Also watch out for radar from the bridges, many PD do this as well, but they have vehicles chase you down.
i always thought texas was a retard state who didnt believe in "book learnin' "

plano pd is always wasting their time on radar traps, honestly it is a HUGE waste of resources especially when the city is having budget troubles...

bringing in revenue off of tickets may help in the short run but it is not a long term solution.

I've seen them do this at Parker & Coit before. That seems to be a good way to get a traffic cop injured or killed.
