Thoroughbred will always beat an arab i rode an arab ex racer and took him for a gallop and i have two thoroughbred one OTTB and the arab felt so slow after being use to thoroughbreds but arab have lovely comfortable paces.
they Arab lost b/c the Arab is an endurance runner, but is not very fast. if you are looking for a fast breed the can run for a long time, try and Anglo Arab. *Arab/Thoroughbred cross
@horseyshoes101 Arabs are one of the fonding breeds of the TB sooo and arab and TB cross would be kinda like adding a bit more arab than anything else.
hey, can i use a small part of this to put in my film? ill send it you and give you full credit of that part, ill also ask people to view your channell xx
too right arabs are like energizer bunnies, i have a 17yo arab x newforest, had him since 9 months, ive never ever seen him tired all he want to do is gallop!!! hes still like a 5 yo haha

This is a great video, there is nothing better then a beach gallop trust me! Its highly addictive. How can any one dislike this video? 5 people need their heads testing lol
Love this video and the comments too but don't think many people realize what an athlete the thoroughbred is.Of course the arab's have natural stamina but trained and ridden well t/b's are not far behind, if at all.No t/b has won the Tevis Cup yet but that does'nt mean one won't.And over two mile's, don't think there's a cheeky, wonderful arab ever graced this earth that could get away from my beautiful t/b chestnut mare. Just waiting for the the next video now ,well done you two.
@Har1748 Yeah, it's actually pretty good! She gets a larger crest sometimes, because she has had laminitis once in the past, like 3 years ago! But, yeah, she is lovely, and when she gets moving she arches her neck and flicks her tail up and looks BEAUTIFUL! :)
lookout Thoroughbred the arab has a bomb strapped to it! .........................[nah just kidding. only a moron really thinks that of arabs, you know, average uh-mer-ik-uhns! ]
@aristotleuk You obviously have not heard of Trakehner's or the Mongolian horses, 35 mile races are a walk in the park for them dude. They do not get much publicity though. Just type in long distance flat race mongolia etc. Arab horses could not compete over that distance or terrain trust me.
@MrNativeDancer oh really i have a arab and i endurance race we did a 100 mile race in less then 12 hrs it took us 8hr 24 mins and 17 secs..... u con only imagine how fast she can do a 30 mile...... 1 hr 38mins and 21 secs and that is her fastest time in the rocky mtns just saying we have faster times for the 30 miles races!.... that are easy terrain.
@cowgirlwithgreyarab Beat this then. Horse breed AKHAL TEKE 2300 miles 83 days crossing 235 miles of desert with no water. This was a race from Ashgabat to Moscow back in 1935, as far as I know the pure bred Arabs where left miles behind. I like Arabs dont get me wrong but they no way near the best for endurance. They would be if you only compared them to Thoroughbreds though. They could not carry the weight that an Akhal Teke could carry either they so strong and relentless nothing stops them
@cowgirlwithgreyarab Thats quite impressive, what you say there, I gave up on Arabs cause they to flighty for me, I often went flying lessons whne they jink at speed haha. Do you compete pro or just for fun? I would love to compete against you on our Akhal Teke called Zack 20 miles at Newmarket hehe then you would see what endurance means haha Gonna get some vids up soon fingers crossed .
@aristotleuk my horse did ;) he won races steeple chasing in heavy ground which is hard work anyway but he specialised in 3mile+ races, he is a TB not arab and has stamina and speed in sprints too even with arthritis in 3 legs he keeps up with the other young TB's and the arab on our yard, infact he is faster than all of the horses i have galloped with but the funny thing is i don't even enjoy galloping him that much, i can't breath cos of his speed and i can't stop 90% of the time :\
@aristotleuk Not true. Ever heard of the sport endurance racing? The arab is not a very prevalent breed. xDNot true. Ever heard of the sport endurance racing? The arab is not a very prevalent breed. xD
I have an Arab (cross with Welsh) pony, and she can go pretty fast, but not the fastest. But boy, can she go on for ever! And ever...and ever...and ever.
If you would race an Arab, a Thoroughbred and a Quarter Horse in a two mile race, the Q/H would be first in the quarter mile, then would poop out, the T/B would be in front of the Arab until about the first mile and a quarter, then the Arab would just keep going and going and going...just like the Energizer bunny... ;D
@rdhawke Your comment is just wrong ! Doesnt mean they are this, that, and this and that because of their breed ! Does not mean that oh my horse is a TB and your horse is QH that the TB is going to win, it depends of the horse !
@rdhawke And I can prove this because my horse is a Canadian horse and guese what, he is faster than the fastest QH mare at the stables and hes is faster than all the other QHs I '' raced '' against fo fun ! Every horse owner knows that every horse is different. Yes the breed could have some influence but still, it depends of the horse, of its will !
@rdhawke That's for sure! My friend got a TB off the track that had won lots of money, and kept bragging and bragging about how much better her TB was than my Arabian mare, who was very nicely race bred herself but never run. Well, we had to race a few times down the road and such, and the Arabian ran the legs off that TB every time. Once the Arab got going, she never slowed down, she could go for miles and miles at that pace. (She's almost 29 now and still runs the legs off the 4 year olds.)
the girl on the TB is pulling it's mouth way too much, looks like the horse is really sensitive and she doesn't seem to know how to use the reins on him.
I love my thoroughbred. Definetly one of the best horses and the heart and soul of horse racing. You can say what you want, but when you say horse racing the thoroughbred comes to mind. :-D Long live the long, legged beauty of the thoroughbred.
i was playing numbers against a ex-racing thoroughbred and i was on a pony 12.2hh Approx .(dont know what breed) she was a more expirenced rider than me and me and Dollar won by 30 metres.I was stoked (:
Get am arab with the raceing frame of mind and it would make this really really interesting! I love watching them gallop and if the arab actually wanted to race it would be pretty close i think.
Arabian: calm, collected, stamina. Thoroughbred (a breed that has Arab blood in it): choppy, uncoordinated, but fast. The Arabian would win in long distance races, and look good doing it too!
Both are amazing breeds I have Both a Thoroughbred and an Anglo Arab (SEA x TB) and they are fantastic horses both are very smart and willing. Great horses! Though any arab wouldnt be able to match the speed of a Thoroughbred unless the distance was Alot longer then a mile and a half arabs get faster over longer distances. And some TBs are sprinters others are distance horses it depends on breeding and conformation. but i think an Anglo could def give a TB a good race
@Peaka01 Hi, it was more than a re-mouthing issue with her, shortly after this video was made, she was diagnosed with kissing spine and underwent a successful operation ..... well spotted, I wondered if anyone would notice her tongue and head issues :)
Good video! I love both breeds. I used to ride an Arabian though it wasnt very floaty of a ride, it was deathly. I bought my own horse and am training her and shes a quarterhorse belgain mix and riding her is much more comfertable lol. Love the video
@bawabas7 Thanks for the comments ........ both breeds are great and both not very predictable in temperament because of their hot blood!!!! I started riding in Western and always fancied an American Quarter Horse cos they seem to be so sensible, plus they are the fastest horse over a short distance, I think they would be the comfiest of all horses to ride too :)
@bawabas7 If you type in Starting Woody you will see how he reacted to having a saddle put on him for the first time .... lol , he still jumps about if you haven't ridden him for a few weeks but he has a big personality which makes up for his silliness!
i grew up on appaloosas and got the chance a couple of years ago to ride an arab....it was the strangest thing lol, they are so different from other horses, it's like floating on a magic carpet or something just incredible (she was a western pleasure champion)
Thanx for all the comments .............. I only had Woody in second gear, he can run much faster than this and, as people have said, he can do this all day long, we do endurance riding not racing but beach riding is fun :)
i did something like this with my 16 year old QH Arab mix. hes 14.2hh and the other horse was 15.2hh or more and a QH... come on the the winner is clear right?yeahhh thats what the other rider thought but we left her kickin and whipin far far behind us witch is funny cuz my horse wasnt even galloping and all i did was give him his head and cluck a few times lol
Arabians give the Thoroughbreds their stamnia give thanks to the breed that shaped the Thoroughbred into what it is today. If you go back in every Thoroughbreds blood line you will find more than a hand full of Arabians.
Arabians might be gorgous, but the TB will always be the fastest!!! Beutifull video!! I havent ridden a horse along a beach for YEARS!!! Miss it so much
@Angles786 This is also true!! I have been a proud owner of both breeds, so im ot favouring one of the other.. Even tho my Arab was a complete nut case!! lol
@mrgreenpickuptruck -- your right - I even went back and replayed the video just to watch foot movements - typical arab & thoroughbred racing here - and 2 very beautiful representatives from each breed!!!
@mrgreenpickuptruck i strongly disagree with you there. they are both gorgeous , graceful animals, but the arab is more choppy while the thoroughbred is more smooth
thoroughbreds are good for short distance sprinting however arabs have the stamina to go at good speed for a very long time since they have adapted to desert life. I personally prefer the arab.
I breed both TB racehorses and Arab show horses(a lot of which have racing blood) and Yes, TBs are faster sprinters but Arabs can keep the pace for days!
There is really no comparing them tho.. Most people are either a TB person or an Arab person. Either side of the fence is always calling the other crazy.. It's few and far between that you'll find someone that likes both.
Thoroughbred will always beat an arab i rode an arab ex racer and took him for a gallop and i have two thoroughbred one OTTB and the arab felt so slow after being use to thoroughbreds but arab have lovely comfortable paces.

i did something like this with my 16 year old QH Arab mix. hes 14.2hh and the other horse was 15.2hh or more and a QH... come on the the winner is clear right?yeahhh thats what the other rider thought but we left her kickin and whipin far far behind us witch is funny cuz my horse wasnt even galloping and all i did was give him his head and cluck a few times lol

thoroughbreds and arabians our my fav horses they our amazing.

I have an anglo-arab :) Best of both worlds!
FashionablyLate1029 3 months ago
Arabians give the Thoroughbreds their stamnia give thanks to the breed that shaped the Thoroughbred into what it is today. If you go back in every Thoroughbreds blood line you will find more than a hand full of Arabians.

Arabians might be gorgous, but the TB will always be the fastest!!! Beutifull video!! I havent ridden a horse along a beach for YEARS!!! Miss it so much

@cryssa1984 arabians have more stamina
Angles786 3 months ago
@Angles786 This is also true!! I have been a proud owner of both breeds, so im ot favouring one of the other.. Even tho my Arab was a complete nut case!! lol

if you look at how the horses run
the arabian is more conservative and calm with his feet
he had a more mesured stride
the Thoroughbred is just flying out with its hoves

@GoGadgetHookerClean
That's EXACTLY it. Both great breed.

@mrgreenpickuptruck -- your right - I even went back and replayed the video just to watch foot movements - typical arab & thoroughbred racing here - and 2 very beautiful representatives from each breed!!!
desertpeach73 2 months ago
@mrgreenpickuptruck i strongly disagree with you there. they are both gorgeous , graceful animals, but the arab is more choppy while the thoroughbred is more smooth

Arabians/Thoroughbreds are so light on their feet:) its amazing. Love the music btw! Gladiator FTW.

arabians got endurance AND speed.
Thoroughbreds can do long distance, like a mile and a quarter and a mile and 1/8 and you get it...but arabians never stop.
xxjocieridesxx 4 months ago
thoroughbreds are good for short distance sprinting however arabs have the stamina to go at good speed for a very long time since they have adapted to desert life.

Looks like so much fun..Jealous! I wish I could ride on the beach! I live in Ohio...so no fun other than meadows, forests & creeks!
