@tiaputadobatiman I hope for you :) the concert was fantastic with keziah jones for the opening. I hope for you they'll play a maggot brain as beautiful as last sunday ^^
This is really emotional and beautiful sounding. The soloing reminds me a little bit of David Gilmour. As a self proclaimed "Metal Head" I still appreciate this very much.
I didn't think "funk" could also sound so spiritual. Two thumbs up!!
As a little girl (bout 13 or so) I had this album and this song touched my emotions so strongly back then. Music has always been my high. I know a lot of people used to get high to this but, the music took me there all by itself! Powerful!
It sucks they only go through the motions of playing this these days... If they dont enjoy playing it they should stop. Last pfunk show I saw Hampton only came out to play this song and it was the absolute worst version I've ever heard.
Point is.. Amazing song, with so much emotion, but to simply go through the motions on this is sad.
I hate to say it this way but this is the SHIT!!! Mother earth is pregnant for the third time for yall have knocked her up. I have tasted the maggots in the mind of the universe and I was not offended, cause I knew I had to rise above it all or drown in my own shit.
Wow I havent heard this in some time, still love it. I remember listening to WMMS in Cleveland on friday nights, the BLF Bash used to end with this song in the 70s and 80s. Man thoes were the days.
People THINK funk isn't a guitar players music...but riddle me this...why is it the greatest guitarists on earth all play funk, at least some of the time? Granted, Jimmy Page was bad at it, but even Led freaking Zeppelin dipped into the funk on more than one occasion.
Eddie and George are gods, but people overlook the rest of this ridiculously talented band too much. So few can tap this kind of emotion. It's unbelievable.
It's Mike Hampton taking the first solo, and he can tear it up, but in my book Eddie Hazel was the best on this song -- he recorded the original, after all. (That's Eddie being drowned out by Mike about halfway through this vid.)
This song is one of my top two guitar solos. The other one is "Watermelon in Easter Hay" by Frank Zappa off the album "Joe's Garage: Act 3." The two are very comparable and both beautiful.
This is the best song/composition ever !--it beats hendrix/van halen /steve vaai and the whole damn lot of em ,,,, when it comes to emotional aspects and soul --god it is good !!!!!!
don't get me wrong -i love jimmy -H -alway have and will -,as he was the greatest , and without him , music , would have never evolved as to what it is today -it was just my point in time -as I was into all kinds of stuff-and you can apreciate the moment too I think -check out my favs.you will find hendrix there often -thanks for the comment
This should have thousands more views. I can't believe that fucker Chris Crocker or whatever he's called has more views than this. Put boobs as one of the tags. Awesome video!
Jimi would be proud. Look at all those brothers on stage! Real powerful.
