A second comment that I have is that I generally use three distinct loading trays to keep the work in progress separate from one another. I have trays for 1) empty cases ready to be primed 2) cases with primer waiting for charging 3) cases with primer and charge completed and waiting for bullet seating. ... If I am also seating at the same time, I add the forth tray for completed shells.
For me, it helps me avoid over, under or no charging by keeping all the steps separate.
A point to note in the video is that the scale being used recommends a 10-15 minute "warm up" period in order to ensure the calibration. Your video seemed to imply (by showing) that you turned it on and started using it right away.... hate to be nit picking, but you ARE making a series of videos on "precision". BTW - The vids are GREAT. Thank-you.
Scooter, I can't speak for the Hornady auto charge, but my Lyman DPS2 is always within 0.1 grain. I was paranoid as heck when I first got it and weighed every charge it dispensed on my Ohaus...after a hundred or so I figured the DPS was just as accurate. I do still check calibrate the DPS every 20 loads though, just cuz I'm a little OCD about my ammo.
I've always sat a bullet on top of the charged case in the loading block after I charge it in order to avoid double charging (and subsequently spilling powder). Works well for me as a visual reminder. Excellent video Series so far! Keep up the great work!
Trickling/measuring charges can be complicated if you pull the handle too sharply or your press isn't secure. Proper setup (like what you're doing) is a must.
Does the .308 have much more kick to it than the 5.56? I know it will but just curious if its gonna be annoying. I live in cali and don't know anyone with an AR10
That seems like a good way to destroy your rifle, keeping the funnel separate from the casings. I would suggest you move the funnel to the next new casing after depositing the powder to prevent a double charge.

Nice system. Like the way you cut back on some of the sit and wait time.

Try an RCBS bench priming tool, you'll like it.

@imunfathomable - It has more kick (5.56 is pretty minimal) but NOTHING like a bolt action 308 or 30-06 :)

@evildude109 - Actually, at ~90% full, you can't double charge, but you sure can make a mess if you try and fill more than once! :)

@gavintoobe Oh, I see. Thanks for the info.

@gavintoobe I'm giggling with this guys comment. You're a competent reloader and knows that 2 charges of XBR at 40 grains will not fit in the case.
