My 70 something father drinks diet sodas with Aspertame. I warned him a few months ago about the dangers. He blew me off and kept drinking diet sodas and then he started having dizzing spells and fell a few times. He ended up in the ER and they did brain MRI's and heart scans and found nothing. I had to drive him around and I told him to lay off Aspertame products. He did and now he back to normal and can drive himself. He is in his 70's and doing great once he got off Aspertame diet sodas.

Everything is poisonous in large quantities. Car exhaust for example will KILL in minutes if it's all you inhale. Sugar is dangerous in large quantities. This type of thing is just ridiculous! There are chemicals in EVERYTHING we eat and drink due to natural processes. Many many things we ingest, breath, drink are carcinogens.

Also, nobody can say for sure how much one needs to ingest before it becomes a problem but, I can tell you this much, lab animals are exposed to amounts that are HUNDREDS of times more than what humans ingest in a lifetime and it STILL takes a long time to injure them. I doubt that writing our congressman would do any good. They've all but ignored us anyway. I think that what would really send a message is to make people more aware about the Aspertame. If no one buys the items that have it, then to avoid the losses, they will ban it. It's a double edged sword. Money talks... I've been buying soft drinks that are sweetened with Splenda. As of yet, no health hazard has been found with it. And, I think that it tastes better in diet drinks.

You're correct about the formaldehyde. Since its' introduction into our diets, once buried, the human body takes anywhere from 10-15 years to decompose vs. the usual 3-5. My statistics may be a bit off but you get the general idea...
