Great Vid. I have a question or two . I did the same thing where i cut off the muffler with a sawza. and i have a turbo muffler for my exhaust. would it be easier to weld a pipe onto the muffler or use clamps? If i did get clamps where did u get urs from and how much?
@nickfranzitta238 it can u the turndown in the video will make it echo off of the ground or you can get tips that are really long and usually alot bigger than the exhaust pipe their called echo tips they can give it a deeper sound at low rpms and idle
good vid man, helped alot ..hopefully my cherry bomb for my 99 f150 will go on as smooth... just a question, if i take off my old muffler and just put the cherry on, do i need a tip to "evacuate" the heat away from the undercarriage? or it doesnt matter and i could leave the muffler shooting under the truck thanks
@thedetriottigers It all depends on what kind of vehicle you have. Many manufacturers can have many different designs. The easiest way to find out is by calling up your local auto parts store or muffler shop and asking them. They enter your vehicles year, make, and model and figure it out.
would i be able to put the new muffler and tail pipe into the stock piping without using an intermediate pipe, presuming everything lines up, or would i need intermediate piping?
I liked the sound of it without a muffler better lol, I would've used a Cherry Bomb Pro, Elite, or Extreme, a lil more sound :) but nice install tho nontheless
@HermitOser Well, you'll want to follow the same setup that I have here. I cut before the muffler to remove it, and since this one was smaller than the stock one, I had to put a little more exhaust piping on it.
@HermitOser It's going to be more difficult for a car because a car has a unitized body and a truck has a full frame. Some models you can unbolt the muffler, but on most it has to be cut off.
No autozone wont install

@BDavisOutdoors I agree. I think he meant carbon steel with an aluminized coating.

Nice vid, thanks for sharing! Do have to have them clamps or is a mountingpaste that hardens when it gets warm do the trick?

@cb7pwn Just as long as the heat isn't coming into contact with any wiring then you should be fine.
63lesabre 10 months ago
@cb7pwn if you dont evacuate it then it can and most likely lead to rust and you dont want that.

@MLFDyoungblood Just as long as the exhaust exits after the cab, you could probably do that. You don't want the exhaust seeping into the cab at idle.

Do I cut right after the muffler ?
Since the muffler is shorther than the stock one , do I need to put a tailpipe before the exhaust tip?

I was looking for saddle clamps at summitracing . com and the 2 1/2 in. clamps cost $26 a piece! Thats rediculous for some stupid little clamp.
TheOneMetallica1 1 year ago
@TheOneMetallica1 Go to any hardware place and you can find them for much cheaper.

jeez, up here in Canada you can't buy a muffler for $50... let alone a whole kit...
