Umm, o.k, so first of all if you are going to be a dance teacher, you need to look like one and not dress with clothes that, well to be perfectly honest, do not show you off well at all. You need to wear a leotard. If you are a dance teacher, then you really need to stop teaching and take some technique classes for yourself. You are not turned out in your supporting leg nor in your tendue. Why are you wearing Jazz sneakers? My advanced/professional students don't even wear them.

not to be mean... i have been dancing ever since i was a baby and i know specifics, im a critic. to sarenathedancer... its a jazz tendu. ur thinking of a ballet tendu. jazz tendus just touch the floor... =]

Just to clarify, all tendus brush along the floor and pointe through the feet. The only difference really from ballet to jazz, and even then there is some controversy, a lot of times in jazz you're in parallel and in ballet always turned out.

This is the stuff that makes me so mad, wasting people's time and money teaching horrible technique and calling this "advanced" and those of us teachers with proper training get kids and parents from these studios and they think they should be in all advanced classes and can't even plié correctly. Wear proper dance attire, and take some classes and STOP TEACHING, you're ruining people's futures. Sorry for the rant this just pisses me off!!

Not a tendu, a tendu slides out working through the foot. This girl looks like someone who has taken dance recreationally for maybe 2 hours per week. Not bad for a recreational dancer, but most certainly not a teacher! Although, you should see some of the "technique on the other demonstrators...hahaha. I watch these for entertainment!

I'm not trying to be rude but this is not a tendue. In a tendu, you slide your foot on the floor then point through your foot .

And a tendue is not advanced at all. The 3 year olds at my dance studio can do tendues. You might want to think about taking some advanced jazz classes to see what advanced jazz dancing looks like.

First of all, it's slept "tendu". Secondly, in any class I've ever taken (whether it be jazz, ballet, or whatever), tendus have always brushed on the floor into a full pointed position. You don't just tap your feet on the ground and call it a tendu.

Sorry for the critiques, but it bothers me that people who might actually be interested in dance might watch this and learn things that are not correct. This is NOT advanced, beginner at best.
