Nice color scheme you have on your Camaro. I got the Victory Red/black stripes. There was this aqua blue/black stripes that I was about to get but opted for the red one because it was a 2SS, came with the better package.
Sounds good at WOT and not annoying when going cruising speeds. I'm looking at this very same setup in mine. I already have the S-type, just waiting to muster the courage to void the warranty and get LT's and a tune.
I have a 2011 SS L99 w/ground effects, blacked out like yours. How did you decide on Borla S-Type vs. ATAK or even Corsa, Cherry Bomb, Thunders, etc? Did you just play it safe and went with the more OEM exhuast upgrade via Chevy? Thanks in advance.
@Flykickss The L99s (autos) do not have the launch control feature, it's only on the LS3/manual. Your version of launch control would be mashing the gas :)
@alipontiac There is a little of what some might consider drone, but it's not bad... definitely a little getting used to from stock, since stock was basically silent.
@halobombs104 hahahaha, your car will destroy mine? not even in a million years. My car is putting down close to 500 horse power to the rear wheels. My friend has a camaro ss and I leave him in the dust. And don't bother looking at my videos. that 335i I filmed revving is a rental. I would never do that to my own car.
@335ipower11 ive seen you trolling on so many car video i watch lol. you say this car sounds terrible? You're the one named after a Bmw 335i. My Camaro would destroy that car any day.
@oxycodonez the new 5.0 stangs are pretty sweet as well... Ford did a good job on that 5.0 and SRA setup... and from what I've heard they're actually a bit under-rated.
@AmericanMuscle881 I love em all - personally the 4th gen is my least favorite, but I would LOVE to add a 3rd or 1st gen to my garage... perhaps one day.
The midpipes (sometimes referred to as connection pipes) are what connect from the end of the headers to the rest of your catback. They replace your stock cats - there are some HP gains to be made with replacing them due to flow restriction on the stock cats. SO if you want the most out of the headers, you'll replace the stock cats with either straight midpipes (no cats), or high flow cats (like I did). Depending on what you buy - they run $200-$400.
@matt25675 vid doesn't really do it justice... it's pretty loud... especially after the cam. Though, it's not as loud as the Corsa w/headers... or the ATAK but neither of those catbacks really do much for me.
@brandontheawesome all of the parts, including CAI, headers, midpipes, catback, install for all, and dyno tune: 3300. If you do the work yourself and don't get tuned - parts only ran about 2500.
I've owned a 68 Camaro SS, a 70 Roadrunner, a 77 Z28 and a few other........I know times are changing, but there is still nothing better than the sound of a V8. Nice car Marticus
@bkroadking1 Sweet line-up. And agreed on the lovely sound of a V8. I was inspired as a child growing up with my Dad's '73 Cuda in the garage. You should hear my Camaro after I got the cam swapped :) - there is another vid posted if you want to see/hear.
@BlueEyedItalian it has catted connection pipes. Though, now it sounds totally different since recently had a new cam put in. Will post up a new vid here soon.
Thanks. And agreed, on the WOT statement. We were just messing around that day - never actually intended to post up the vids. But I was bored yesterday. :)
I'll be sure to get something better once I get it out in Spring, after my cam goes in ;)
My buddy has flow aster 40's and they sound really good.

I don't like the way it sounds at idle. Sounds good with revs though. Maybe it's just the sound on my iPhone.

Love your Camaro. What tint do you have on the car? Anything else you've done to it? Lowered, ect...? Thanks
FXSwissTrader 3 months ago
@FXSwissTrader not lowered, stock height there, though I may lower it at some point. Tint is 35% on side windows and 20% on the rear window.

I'm new at this so if this question is stupid forgive me. But what are mid pipes? Do they
Come with the headers? How much do mid pipes cost? And what about hp gain? I'm looking to do kooks headers w high flow cats and borla exhaust

I have a question... Does the check engine light come out when you install the whole catback?
theegina 10 months ago
@theegina Catback - no. If you put on long tube headers, with or without a catback, yes... for most, it does since the O2 sensors move back.
