  • U2 is rocking the hill at moncton,n.b. on july 30,2011..their last gig of the 360 tour...one of the greatest bands of all time in my backyard...cant wait

  • U2 was a great band during this era, but now they are just half speed greedy fat millionares.

  • @Snakeytash Still, there the type of greedy millionaires id want in this world given the work they do for poverty!

  • new jersey meadowlands show was amazing! they ended the show with this. i am still speechless!

  • Montreal was amazing people :) best concert ive seen in my life .

  • Saw Bono and the Boys in Chi-town as well ---- What a surprise! Sounded better than ever. (July 2011)

  • Saw them last night in Chicago, and they played this! ^_^ I freaked, I never thought I'd see this live.

  • @CCubed1717 i saw them too yesterday in chicago! amazing show, wasnt it!!! great song too!

  • This is certainly there best one, can't say I'm into them much but Boy is great.

  • Glasto 2011 Out of Control!!!! - heard that the other bands did not want to play after the u2 performance. I understand them

  • I don't know how often they go down memory road, but it's a worthwhile trip. Shame it was so bad tonight on BBC2 in Glastonbury.

  • Well hey ho, they played it at Glastonbury tonight and it sounds pretty fucking shit hot as a tune...to me. Discuss.

  • I love this album, and this is my fav song.

  • Boy, October, and War are three of U2's greatest albums, yet few are familiar with them.

    U2're my life *-*

  • I'm not a HUGE U2 fan, but this is definitely my favorite song by them, I love this song. Can't deny that these guys made awesome music, especially in their early days, like this song.

  • best song ever

  • I'm jealous that my dad literally grew up during the era of good music. I'm sorry, but the 2000's are just full of artificial, crappy music.

  • <3 how can't you NOT love U2?

  • I prefer the u2 slane castle version of this song, has an alternative style and good also and more so that u2 and innovated today because he changed his style and fantastic that I am fan of the little time I find them amazing

  • cheheeeewn

  • ¿ the cure puch ?????

  • 30 years later and they've still got it :)

  • my dad saw them in clubs before they were even famous

  • @thenewfella1994 The Smiths were a great group but only could arrive at the British public, Johny Marr is a guitar hero, but U2 has been bigger. I like the smiths too, their songs were meravellous, but I don´t like the comparison between Bono and Morrissey.

  • intermission made dis song wat it is

  • It's quite plain which is to be expected as it's made in 1980's or so.

I prefer the Slane Castle live version of this.

  • @gfrica Actually, after listening to this for few days I might just take my words back.

  • Ladies & Gentlemen -the REAL U2. Think it's still in them somewhere? ;-)

  • @KezRox yes x]

  • u2 BEST

  • mah haha. 'Because you just never know whats going to happen'.

  • Followed them since the early 80's and that stuff was good but seen them twice on the 360 tour in Cardiff and Frankfurt and they blow everyone away. No Line is only second to J Tree. Keep goin boys !!!!!

  • love the edges sound

  • I thinks it's Gavin Friday of "The Virgin Prunes" nephew. Nevertheless a classic toon.

  • I think Boy is their best album to be honest :) I know everyone goes on and on about the J Tree! but this album has a raw energy that I like

  • @Fender1976uk I like Jt plenty, but yeah, this is IMO, better.

  • Maybe Bono's Or Edge's In Actuality? LOL

  • I think He was Edge's Cousin or Nephew in Acctuality

  • Whoever this kid is, he will be famous because of U2.

  • THE NAME OF THE ALBUM IS BOY.

  • oh my Bono how amazing are U2 best band ever

  • this song could be remade and played all over modern radio... for example i could TOTALLY see greenday cover this and it be huge... so u2 shud do it to get more radio playtime

  • you take my breath away

  • The kid on the sleeve is actually the younger brother of Derek Rowen (aka Guggi of Virgin Prunes).

  • great song old u2 all the way

  • Kind of cool that it's become the informal theme song for the 2010 World Cup. Well, at least according to ESPN.

  • @mikeydhh -- as much as I love U2 (and hate Shakira), it's a bit annoying that ESPN that ESPN decided to do the typical American thing and blow off the theme for the rest of the world.

  • This was their first single.... anybody doubts these guys are genius?

  • Who is the little boy? Is it one of the bandmembers as a child?

  • The pure magic of U2,

    All here in this song...

  • I turned 18 today, and I wokpe up listening to this song. Very special moment

  • @prisonbreakadictos i also did the same when i turned 18, now i'm 21 so...

  • I have to say that Boy is my favorite U2 album. Bono's voice fit perfectly as wells as The Edge's guitar riffs and of course the drumming and bass is amazing. It's such an unique album especially durning the time it came out.

  • fucking awesome tune

  • Been a fan of theirs for ages. How the "eff" did I miss this one???

  • Literally the title of the song says it all - If I was racing a car and listening to this song I would end up out of control from going insanely too fast - their first single and maybe one of their best

  • This was incredible at the beginning of "Intermission" with fellow Colin Farrell running away from the popos.

  • out of the car !!! out of the f***** car !!!

  • ha!!! intermission, first time i heard this song

  • me 2, great movie wasn't it ?

  • forgot to add i was born in 77 when they came out wish i wouldve been older to haer them:[

  • damn straight about the concrete classic comment U2 best in the world

  • amazing song especially as their 1st single... U2= Concrete classic!!

  • better than the '' i'll go crazy" song

  • Just incredible! I gotta admit I love the earliest songs the best too, though I am a total fan of the latest as well.

  • best band of all time!!!!

  • actually they been around since 1977

  • @oldhawkins 1976.

  • @oldhawkins

    1976

  • @ltdann86, they've been around performing as 'U2' by name since Spring of '78, and as a group since Fall of '76.

  • lol

  • where u been under a rock? or just born yesterday? These albums have been out for 25 years.Dont like the delay? Go back to your wannabe Metallica band megameth.

  • @megadethrulez, check out their '70's material sans delay

  • Love this song. The live version from the 'Red Rocks' DVD is also greatness.

  • The album "Boy" is indeed fabulous (everyone should listen it)! And this song really kicks ass! =)

  • U2's early stuff was the best!

  • they were well ahead of there time back in the day such quality music

  • I'm 17 and I much prefer earlier U2. Bono's voice is pretty damn unique and probably was very definitive at the time of this debut album in the 80's.

  • I know, I'm 14, and I prefer it.

  • @Slabolator i am 45 and you are damn right. Congratulations to your good taste. I was about your age when they released this album. They got worse every year but I liked them until some time in the ninetees. For now the only positive thing about them is: let them be successfull so Bono can spent the money for his projects in Africa.

  • @Slabolator you're just like me.

  • Comment removed

  • @Slabolator why do you have to mention your age? okay we know you are young and you like good music, it's meant to be cool, just enjoy the music!

  • @ShiBluWolf That did read like I was trying to prove a point by being younger. I didn't mean that at all and didn't want to come across like a 'voice of all reason'. Music is there to be enjoyed by anyone and everyone of any age and thats the main thing :P

  • Rumahuqu says YEAH !

  • starting song of intermission :D i love this song now

  • great movie, intermission

  • tops love it !!!!!!! great live

  • great tune, full of energy from a young U2!

  • Yes, so fresh, yet raw at the same time, but great production nevertheless, like the Sex Pistols on their first album, Never Mind The Bollocks.

  • young U2 is the fucking best U2!!!! I say how long!!!!!!!! fuck yeah!!!!!!!! best band of the fucking human era!!!

  • EARLY U2 IS THE BEST

  • actually, i have to say i like their new stuff just as well. "All That You Can't Leave Behind" is an excellent album as well. "Boy" is magnificent, but everything becomes better with age.

  • boys good. the joshua tree is better. achtung is the best. I think pop may be my second favourite, actually, wedged between the JT and AB. Let's not forget how amazing this RAW and YOUNG U2 is!

  • The rawness of "Boy" reminds me of the rawness of other debut albums such as the Beatles' "Please Please Me" and the Sex Pistols' "Never Mind The Bollocks". Those albums have such an exciting, devil-may-care feel to them and such youthful energy, as if nothing else in the world mattered. The arrogance and bravery of youth. Great stuff altogether, as we say in Ireland.

  • The first Manic Street Preachers album (Generation Terrorists) definitely has that vibe too. And yet, much like U2, they still knew exactly how to write songs whose style they'd become famous for later on.

  • great song . but whats with the kid ??.. i see it on every studio record on youtube :S

  • on three albums...he's a symbol of the early u2 era.something to do with 'stories for boys'.too bad they didn't use him with october

  • it was one of Bono's mate's brother.

PEter i think his name is.

they used him for some singles, the War & Best of albums. cute kid.

  • Finally, us ppl in the U.S now have the proper album cover for Boy, as it has been recently re-released

  • the record company got all huffy over the cover, something about it being homo-erotic and making the band look like pedophiles. so they took a photo and put it through a photocopier and streched it all out, or something like that.

  • This I know. Wonder how old he was? Wonder why they didn't change War album cover?

  • he had to be about 8 right? why didnt they change the war album?

  • Who knows

  • oh. i thought you were like asking if i wanted to know... my bad. hehe. :]

  • I'm assuming they didn't change the War cause he was a tenager

  • Finallly, Got remastered single-disk version of Boy. Now, I have the U2 remastered albums

  • @R4mboNL the kid on u2 album covers is the younger brother of one of bonos mates guggi

  • @R4mboNL its cus the boy album is about being a boy on the verge of a man so thats y its called boy, and thats y they put a boy on the cover

  • @R4mboNL The boy is the brother of friend's Bono

  • @R4mboNL

peter rowan, bono's neighbour at the time... skater and photographer these days...

  • @brendogg

    What's a "skater"?

  • @beowulven skateboarder!

  • @brendogg

    That's a thing? Then I'm a "toothbrusher", or a "breather". Skater, whatever.

  • @R4mboNL i wonder who is he a friend relative of theirs how old is he now probably 10 years younger than they are but defienetly from ireland

  • @R4mboNL The boy's name is Peter Rowen, he is the brother of a close friend of Bono

  • god its been too long. (sigh!!) Genius album. makes me cry. x

  • This song was class in intermission!

  • right on bravo bravo .
