This is good. I remember as a kid the engines pumping up and down. The large metal arms and the smell of oil. We sat on a plate upstairs, which was warm for us kids with gas lights and cole fires and our paerents rowing to go home to. So, the Woolwich Frerry was somewhere exiciting to go. Back and forth. No one chucked us off, guess the men in thouse days understood that kids needed a day out.

Great stuff. I remember being there when the 'new' ferries opened for service. I used to travel on the all the time as a kid. Cheers
