its called kayfab. bob baclund is old school, so he will not break character, he has to live it outside the studio where impact is taped, since its in that area. other wrestlers don't do this, he just respects his art form, and treats wrestling serious.
He's in character because he sees that you're following him everywhere and he knows your obviously a mark for wrestling. Why would he break character for some guy with a video camera to reveal he's really sane and blow the whole gimmick? He's working you and it appears you're also working yourself.
he didnt break character because he was in the park, its around where impact his taped. many old school wrestlers would stay in kayfab, and when they see a fan they def go in kayfab mode.
This made my whole day so much better. Backlund is a god.
