@genxxxersize INDEED IT IS SIR...these lads are tremendous, this song is stunning and this dosnt even come from their best LP... Just a tremendous song from a tremendous LP from a tremendous band!
Thank you for posting music when life was simple and good. If you had 5 bucks for gas in my buds '69 red Mustang to cruize around in, we ruled the world. Bad as REAL Muscle Cars and REAL Rock music ! ~
No real worries or health problems, ... just fun. God if I ever knew how crapy this world would get, I would have embraced it so much more, back then.
I saw there Video in Kansas City Mo. in 1979. ( you"v got what I need) after moving back to chicago saw them live at taste of chicago summer 1982. Singers brother was in southern rock band Missouri.
Ah, to be back in high school in the late 70s and 1980 (the year I graduated) and to be with Marla. I wouldn't make the mistake of not talking to her again.
One word -- Holy shit do I love this freaking song and band!!! Ok, ten words and three exclamation points!<--- Ok, four. <------Note the period here however :P
The opening is one of the greatest lead-ins ever. The violins come in eerily sad in the second stanza at 1:08 This, of all rock songs, depicts a painful yearning of love. When 3:52 finally comes in, you just can't take it any more. Your heart finally gives in and drops in painful ecstasy.
@zimbalatti There all hit songs that few have discovered. I mentioned them referenced as The Poor Man's Kansas, because Kansas had better success in the long haul, but this band oozes good songs!!!
these guys were big in the San Francisco bay area when this came out,i tried to catch a club gig but it sold out quickly....the lead singer has a truly distinctive voice.
I doubt their worth much, LP wise, I own them as well. I believe the band was described as "the poor man's Kansas", which sells them short because they wrote many great songs, not just sounded like Kansas in a historical footnote. Kansas probably just has about equal the number of memorable songs!
every time i hear this song, i just listen to the harmonic voice, the slow intro of the piano and violin, then bang! it gets into some good rock! truly a classic of all time.
BEAUTIFUL!

Brings back memories of high school.... when bands actually wrote their own music and played instruments. This band was tight.

Wonder if Shooting Star were inspired by Bad Co's song. That was written in memory of their fallen guitarist, so it has a real resonance
