  • Good song, missed this one back in '82. Very Journey-esque to these ears.

  • @Jhensy2012 This is actually from 79 :)

  • I'd forgotten how much I used to love this song

  • Wonderful song, and it does bring back some vivid memories!

  • Great Band, my all time favorite, still have the CD!

  • Great Band!!!

  • a masterpiece!

  • one of the best songs on a truely great LP.

  • Growing up in Iowa, our local station KGGO played this all the time. I still love it. It means SUMMER to me.

  • Great song!!!!! Thanks for posting it!

  • Thank you for posting music when life was simple and good. If you had 5 bucks for gas in my buds '69 red Mustang to cruize around in, we ruled the world. Bad as REAL Muscle Cars and REAL Rock music ! ~

No real worries or health problems, ... just fun. God if I ever knew how crapy this world would get, I would have embraced it so much more, back then.

    I miss it all so.

  • @dbeede1 I have a Best Of cassette with Flesh and Blood and two added songs as I recall, to preserve it I used MiniDisc!

  • This song does it for me everytime I hear it.

  • I saw there Video in Kansas City Mo. in 1979. ( you"v got what I need) after moving back to chicago saw them live at taste of chicago summer 1982. Singers brother was in southern rock band Missouri.

  • Ah, to be back in high school in the late 70s and 1980 (the year I graduated) and to be with Marla. I wouldn't make the mistake of not talking to her again.

  • Great Cut!

  • Always been such an awesome tune.

  • One word -- Holy shit do I love this freaking song and band!!! Ok, ten words and three exclamation points!<--- Ok, four. <------Note the period here however :P

    Thanks for the great post.

  • This is such a great song....should have had much more airplay than it did.

  • Saw this band way back in Cincinnati at a very small club. I wore this record out.

  • The Loop FM98 in Chicago played this song.

  • As did the Mighty Met. WMET 95.5

  • @seanpatf

As did the Mighty Met. WMET 95.5.

  • as did the Mighty met. WMET 95.5.

  • @pastthesellby - The mighty WMET. That takes me back. Great station....

  • @capvl99 still have one of the WMET neon light circled bumper stickers some where !

That and the Loop fm 98.

We had it so good and didnt really relize it ! Damn ~

  • @apatheticempathy I didn't start listening to WMET until the summer before it changed format...I was NOT happy when it happened !

  • @apatheticempathy I didn't start listening to WMET until the summer before it changed format...I was NOT happy when it happened !

  • Have it on my ipod, how it takes me back....thanks for the memories

  • The opening is one of the greatest lead-ins ever. The violins come in eerily sad in the second stanza at 1:08 This, of all rock songs, depicts a painful yearning of love. When 3:52 finally comes in, you just can't take it any more. Your heart finally gives in and drops in painful ecstasy.

  • Phenomenal song, and phenomenal 'album'!

  • looked for this album for like a year in the mid 90's couldn't find it. was very pissed for a long time...good to hear it

  • I had it and lost it.

  • Shooting Star is an awesome band.

The hit Last Chance freaking Rocks!

  • @zimbalatti There all hit songs that few have discovered. I mentioned them referenced as The Poor Man's Kansas, because Kansas had better success in the long haul, but this band oozes good songs!!!

  • @MetallicBill *They're All, excuse the typo...typical of me!

  • thank you for posting these memories...

  • these guys were big in the San Francisco bay area when this came out,i tried to catch a club gig but it sold out quickly....the lead singer has a truly distinctive voice.

  • He has a voice not unlike David Pack of Ambrosia. Nice clear timbre, yes.

  • I don't think this has been on the radio for 25 frickin years. My gawd this takes me back...

  • has anyone got, or could they throw "Just Friends" out for us... plz

  • This song, + "Flesh And Blood", both simply incredible! I still get shivers whenever I hear either one, nearly twenty years on!

  • Great throwback...wow...reminds me of how old I am

  • @furyguy62 Yeah I'm old too, but never to old to rock-n-roll. Cause that's what they where, great Rock-N-Roll.

  • I doubt their worth much, LP wise, I own them as well. I believe the band was described as "the poor man's Kansas", which sells them short because they wrote many great songs, not just sounded like Kansas in a historical footnote. Kansas probably just has about equal the number of memorable songs!

  • great song brings back memories

  • Brings back memories of high school.... when bands actually wrote their own music and played instruments. This band was tight.

  • Wonder if Shooting Star were inspired by Bad Co's song. That was written in memory of their fallen guitarist, so it has a real resonance

  • every time i hear this song, i just listen to the harmonic voice, the slow intro of the piano and violin, then bang! it gets into some good rock! truly a classic of all time.

    thanks for post!

  • This song came out my last semester of high school, in the spring of 1982. Still brings back great memories.
