However I'm not down talking UFC since all the men in there are great fighters but to me fighting isn't as much a sport as it is learning a martial art to stay in shape and protect your loved ones and friends. But we all learn it for different reasons. And my grandmaster has a rule, respect ALL martial styles and artists. Even if they don't respect you. Give them that respect.

UFC is more of a sport to me. In a real fight on the street I'll use all my surroundings available to win the fight. In UFC you have rules. No holding onto the fence, no pressure points (which are useful against Jujitsu), thats the 2 major rules that bother me. If I fought a Jujitsu artist on the street and I knew he was you bet I'll be next to a fence so I can keep myself from getting taken down. And the reaons for both those rules are, everyone wants to see 2 beefcakes on the ground pummeling.

Same as Wing Chun and Hung Gar Kung Fu. There are no rules in those styles. If someone has a weapon, you're encouraged to kick in the balls. Many things you have yet to understand. JJ is a necessity to know because no other style is as effective on the ground. But its ONLY useful on the ground. In fact ALOT of styles weren't made for fighting with rules. Muay Thai, Karate, Ninjutsu, many more.

@turnbacktime here's your problem with grappling in a street fight: You grab the dude and put him in an armbar easily cause we'll assume you're a beast jj guy who can do that in 2 seconds. That is still enough time for that guy's buddy to run up and kick your head in. And then your done. Now a standing joint lock, if you can pull it off, is viable, but you're still tying up one or more of your arms holding the dude.

well said my friend. True true. UFC fighters are some of the best hand to hand combatants around, 1 on 1. But that's because they literally break their bodies with physical conditioning and put on more muscle than was ever meant to hang from human bones. They devote everything they have to winning their fights. They are voluntary gladiators. This clip is so over-edited it's ridiculous. The editor needs to be shot. When you have a guy of Cyril's talent you shouldn't be cutting away to a new angle every second. At least let the guy pull off a few moves first. They really butchered his movements in the editing room. That's some frustrating shit. Are all of the fight scenes in this movie edited like this? It's an excellent action film, but you're right nonetheless.

It happens all the time these days, especially in American action films. Take "The Marine", for example: shitloads of cuts, close-ups throughout the majority of the fights scenes, shakey camera work...so terrible. Tony Jaa has the right idea, though.
