While I agree the sager is one tough competitive notebook...those specs are for a complete desktop replacement class system.

Theyre way more bulkier and have less battery life.

Theyre fine machines, I'm actually looking at picking one up for a windows based system.

the 17" uMBP that I have is perfect for everything i need to do and I didnt even have to invest much in it.

This is borderline desktop replacement..but not desktop class like the sagers are.

Both are nice though.

The Mac Pro has a dual-quad core Intel Xeon Processor. Eight cores! It supports up to 32 GB of DDR3 SDRAM. It also supports four 7,200 RPM 1TB hard drives (if you want capacity), or even four 15,000 RPM 300GB hard drives (if you want speed). Don't go around spamming Apple and Alienware videos, when the truth is that they're SO much better than your craptastic machines. And yes, graphics problems HAVE been reported on the new unibody MacBook Pro 17", but I'm sure Apple can get them fixed.

Umm... okay, but the Mac Pro has 2 quad core processors, and they're Xeons, not i7s. It supports up to 32 GB of RAM. The hard drives can be swapped out easily. You need to try out these systems before you come to a conclusion. You can't just randomly say, "Apple sucks!" because you haven't tried them out yet!

Macs are always overpriced and technological behind Windows PC computer.

PC has GTX 295 & ATI 4870 x2 for gaming. apple has 8800 GT

PC has intel i7 965 $1k CPU(8 cores with hyperthreading); apple uses server cpus. 2 xeon so they can have 8 cores...horribly expensive. $2100+ for 2 xeon 3.2ghz.

DDR2 is old, especially DDR2 800. $50 for 4gb. apple charges $500

1tb HD costs $87, apple charge $300

I don't blame apple charges for premium dollars, there are a lot of unread and uninformed people.

You CAN play games on it. You can play even more if you install Windows via Boot Camp, which comes preinstalled with Mac OS X 10.5 "Leopard" and higher. It's expensive because it's environmentally friendly, big (although not as big as your laptop), and has a multi-touch trackpad that no other line of laptop computers has. You can get a 2.93 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 8 GB of RAM. The same hard drive is available. You can also select a more durable Solid State Drive (SSD).

The Mac OS has a higher satisfaction rate than Windows Vista or even Windows XP. I don't have a Mac as my main computer yet, but I am going to get one, and this will be it. I could get another one.

Who cares if it doesn't have Blu-ray capabilities? All I want is an environmentally-friendly computer with great technological innovations including the new multi-touch trackpad. That's what everybody saves up for.

MAC got big recently because of OS X. Mac almost disappeared years ago. Remember how horrible the OX 9 or previous versions? I am not sure if you extreme MAC boys know but microsoft gave a lot of money to apple to keep them alive prior to OS X. Well, because they need to well their Microsoft Office for Mac.

MAC OS X is a complete rip off Linux. Well, it's a Unix core...so what do you expect. Apple cannot create "greatness" without help from Unix team.

The reason they made the battery non-removable is to make it larger to maximize the lifespan. If they made it removable, they would have to make it smaller, and it wouldn't last as long.

There is, Jillerstem. You can undo some screws, remove the bottom, and then undo a few more screws to release the battery. Finally, unplug the battery and it's out!
